This is a very nice property! It had everything we needed and provided a wonderful location for our family reunion and vacation. The owners were responsive and easy to communicate with. We hope to do it again in the future!

Great for families!

The property was really nice and spacious! The access to the beach was nice and the play areas/media room was great for the kids! The house definitely needs a “one over”…there were sand pile, leaves and so much bird poop on the outdoor furniture, that we didn’t utilize that much. The interior was clean, but the exterior looked a little rundown. Overall it was a nice stay!

Freedom and Adventure Women's retreat success!

What an amazing spot for 18 of us to gather and enjoy and grow together. This house provided the perfect space for everyone to connect, feel safe, take time to rest, rejuvenate and just BE. Very nice house, perfect for our family. Beach side of house needs pressure washing

Inside was very nice and clean, outside was not. Beach side needs pressure washing, the bugs and spiders are crazy. I am really surprised with what we paid you would lock up 2 bedrooms.

Thanksgiving 2023

Had a blast, great location, lots of room. Got a real kick out of the kitchen, every drawer, cabinet, closet were labeled…pots- pans, silverware, cookie sheets, serving bowls etc. Was a bonus to have every kitchen utensil at your disposal as we were 15 and ate in every night. Was contacted by owners beforehand and they helped fill in the blanks, even stopping for BBQ take-out on the way in to ease the transition. A+

Fun at the beach

Overall excellent time - amazing access to beach and amenities. 2 issues: few things broken when we arrived but quickly resolved. Cleanliness is primary issue - outside house infested with spiders, webs etx... outside needs cleaning. inside as well cleaning wasn't great. Food in drawers. Overall fabulous time and great host.

WOW WOW WOW

Incredible house with all you need for a big family with small kids. We have ages 8mo thru grandparents!! So many master bedrooms everyone was living in luxury. Huge kitchen, sand box pit with baby swing under the deck, even had sand toys already in it!! Laurie was so nice and always emailed back with answers to all my questions. Very easy booking process. A week to remember forever!

Outstanding property and hosts

We had 7 adults and 7 children at the house. The hosts were so helpful in providing us information about the area. They were accessible and friendly. The house is “ loaded” with everything that you could possibly need for fun and entertainment. It is easily accessible to the beach and also has a great pool area. The kitchen is stocked. The recreation area has foosball, pool and a media room. There are so many beach toys including a surfboard. This is a perfect property for a family gathering. I could not recommend it more highly.

The most well-stocked property we've ever rented

Our extended family was here in August 2018 and had a spectacular time. We had a large group that ranged from infants to great-grandparents and this house met everyone's needs (although you do need to be able to navigate stairs). Having a room with a crib was a huge help. We were lucky to have relatively cool nights so we were could lounge around the amazing fire pit after the smallest kids went to bed (there's an electrical outlet right there to plug in baby monitors). Having the dune crossing right there makes it so convenient to come back to get snacks, drinks, or bring the little ones up for a nap. This is a beautiful house with amazing views.

Family Vacation, 4 Generations

The overall stay was great, the location was great, the bedrooms, bathrooms, living and kitchen areas, all great! There were some small issues that could make the next guests stay a little better. 1. There were no dish towels, we had to purchase these2. There was no metal spatula to use for the grill, we had to borrow one from the neighbors.3. On the hot tub, only 2 of the 4 jets worked4. Not enough shade available by the pool, we had to improvise with our beach umbrellas to create some shade.These are very minor issues that did not take away from our experience. Being a unit that rents Sunday to Sunday, we had no issues getting on or leaving the island as most rent Saturday to Saturday. We had a great time and I would stay in the house again.

Perfect for large family group!

This home was perfect for our annual family reunion. We had a mixture of adults with small children, and grandparents. It is perfectly stocked, with lots of seating for meals together, and spaces for separation when needed! The media room provided needed entertainment on our one rainy day. The young adults enjoyed game room area! Beach access was perfect! Many homes on outer banks do not have direct beach access on the beach front. This home has the connected walkway right off the pool area. Strollers and wagons could easily be pulled with the kids straight to the beach. With crawlers, we were delighted with the cleanliness of the property. As the first rental of the season, we expect some hiccups, and Laurie the owner was quick to respond and checked on us throughout the stay. We will definitely be back!

My extended family stayed at this house for a week and we had a wonderful time! The house was beautiful, the layout worked really well for our six families to stay very comfortably! The owner was very responsive and great to work with! Would love to stay at this house again!!!

Family/Friends Vacation

This house was prefect for our large group. It had everything we needed to make our stay enjoyable. We had several infants, toddlers and older children in our group and had no problem. Multiple pack and plays were available to us. Plenty of sand toys and chairs etc. The kitchen was well equipped. A couple of small things came up and Laurie the host and the management company were quick to respond appropriately. The beach is about 30 steps from the backyard. We watched dolphins in the morning several times from the balcony with our coffee. We will definitely be back.

Happy Beach Vacationers :)

We have stayed at many homes in Virginia Beach and in the Outer Banks. This home in comparison was super clean, kitchen was outfitted nicely, it had the best home theatre we've seen, and the hot tub was large and clean. The outdoor gas fireplace was a nice touch! Master bedrooms were really nice, with really high ceilings! Communication was prompt and helpful. They actually replaced the air conditioner while we were there with no disruption to our trip. We were even well protected from the tail of hurricane Ian! We would stay there again.

Fabulous Friendcation Getaway

We had a wonderful week at this house. Everything was very clean and modern. I felt like VIP with my third floor balcony off the master bedroom. The house is right on the beach, and the pool and hot tub were great for the kids. The older kids loved the theatre room and chasing the crabs at night. We had a slight issue with the air conditioning on the third floor (no ones fault) but Laurie was SUPER responsive all week long and had it fixed for us as soon as humanly possible. She was all over the maintenance people. The guys even stayed late to fix it. The house had everything we needed including huge pots and pans for big family dinners. We want to come back next year! Thank you Laurie!

Would not recommend to a friend. We left early. Prior reviews are very generous.

We wanted to love this place, but there were too many negatives that outweighed the positives. Lets start with what was positive: - ocean view, ocean view, ocean view - simply lovely - bathrooms remodeled and updated - main living space open concept and plenty of room for our 23 members of the family. -Laurie, property manager, perhaps owner, was sympathetic to the many issues. I spent more time texted her for several days than I wanted on a "vacation". Negatives - We left a day early, 3 days without air conditioning on the main level, it got to 87 degrees inside and sleeping was really bad the first night. First two days, no air ... we had window units in and out ... lots of work people in and out. - Cleaners were there for 40 minutes. it is a big house and it was not clean. Sand inside was underneath feet. - The outside deck was very old and some deck boards / railings very unsafe. They sent more service folks to re-nail old boards, sure up wobbling railings ... the whole deck needs to be replaced around the pool. We would not let my 82 year old mother out on the deck for fear she would trip on the splintered and lifting boards. - Outside was dirty, dirty, dirty ... sand box was gross, glad we didn't have kids who wanted to play in it, no one serviced the outside. We had to put water in the pool and all of it is very dated. - For the cost for a week ... definitely not worth the money. - Dirty sheets from prior guests were never picked up, they left clean towels in a trash bag outside. Sheets on beds were super rough ... and no extra pillow cases for the pillow in the closet. Overall, the place needs better management and maintenance.

The house was everything we expected it to be. Very clean and everything was in working order. The property owner was very kind and helpful when ever we had a question. Absolutely Beautiful!!

We could not have wanted more in a vacation home. The house was beautifully decorated. The atmosphere was so inviting and comfortable!! Views of the ocean was phenomenal. My daughter decided to get married while we were there. It was the perfect place for what we called Wedding Week! The house was well equipped! The owners responded promptly to a couple small unforseen issues and they were resolved quickly. We had a wonderful experience making memories that will last a lifetime. We plan to return in the future.

Here are 2 of our family owners! We began renting beach homes in the 70's and enjoyed it so much, that we decided to buy one and continue the tradition.

Why they chose this property

We wanted a home for our extended family to enjoy in a neighborhood with every amenity. Being right on the ocean was important not only for the view but we could see the kids surf, and our aging parents could enjoy the views from the house and top deck if they didn't want to come down. It was important for us to have areas where were could spend time together, along with areas where you could spend time with just a few. Spending time vacationing together has made for some of our best memories ever!

What makes this property unique

Some of our FAVORITE THINGS are the very PRACTICAL. Top of our list are the ROOM DARKENING CURTAINS in the master suites! Who wants to rise with the sun while you are on vacation? The rooms are named for easy identification. The kitchen cabinets are LABELED so you know where things are. There are always too many towels (bath & beach)in a house for 30, so we have HOOKS everywhere--in many of the bathrooms and even in a common hall. We love the HUGE PICNIC TABLE near the pool. We will grill out or have a Low Country Boil and spread it out on the table. After we eat dinner and play group games with the everyone, the kids end up on the first floor and the adults on the top floor. Everyone loves the THEATER with reclining chairs! At night you may find a group on the sectional by the POOLSIDE FIREPIT. The house makes for a great vacation for us all. After living like this, you will never again want to vacation as a group in a hotel!
