Peaceful and Practical Base Camp for Family Adventure
The cabin wasn’t anything flashy, but its cleanliness and simplicity were exactly what made it special. It comfortably slept our family of six and served as the perfect base camp to explore everything the region has to offer, from the Great Sand Dunes in the valley to the Alpine Loop outside Lake City. Each day brought a new adventure, and every evening we returned to the cabin to unwind, watch a movie, bake some cookies, and enjoy some much-needed rest. The host was very responsive to any needs or questions, which made the stay even smoother. We made some wonderful memories with this cabin at the center and are so grateful for the role it played in our trip.
Great little cabin for our family. It looks like it has been recently renovated, with new paint and counters, etc. There is a washer/dryer that i didn't remember being in the description, so that was a definite plus. The owner is very responsive! We were inundated with rain while tent camping and I messaged him about potentially checking in early. He was very responsive and helped coordinate things so we could come early.
We didn't get to try out the espresso machine, but I will certainly make up for that next time.
Beautiful cabin, beautiful views, wonderful little neighborhood. So happy we found this little gem for our mountain vacation!

I live in Colorado Springs, Colorado. My wife and I have had short term rentals in the past. We bought a cabin in South Fork because of the areas overwhelming beauty and opportunities for outdoor activities with our boys.
Why they chose this property
It's absolutely beautiful. South Fork is amazing and the people are amazing. It feels so welcoming and pure.
