You can enjoy the 6 person hot tub with privacy wall on the front deck. Walk out on the westward facing 40 foot deck and catch a beautiful Idyllwild sunset while sitting in front of the fire pit or wake up and enjoy the master bedroom patio with your coffee and mountain views. Also an amazing spot for sunsets and wine.

Head into the large open kitchen, equipped with stainless steel appliances where you’ll have everything you need to prepare delicious meals for you and your guests. Enjoy your delicious meal at our big live wood dining table with rustic french doors on either side of you bringing in plenty of day light. After your meal, walk through one set of french doors and go enjoy the hot tub or walk out of the other french doors and enjoy the fresh mountain air, outdoor couches, hammock and propane fire on the back deck.

Walk up stairs and you will find 2 uniquely designed bedrooms. The first is the Primary bedroom, The Pendleton room. This room boasts high wood ceilings, wood accents, a huge window with custom wood cover, lots of natural sunlight, it's own bathroom and access to it's own private deck via the rustic french doors with comfy outdoor L couch and chair. Also upstairs is the 2nd bedroom, The Blue room, which possesses a really unique and fun design with angled walls and windows. Simple yet cozy with blue accented tongue and groove walls.

While downstairs enjoying our cozy living room! We do not have traditional cable. We have 2 smart TVs, a 55" above the fireplace and 47" in the den with access to Netflix only.
(Feel free to log into any of your own accounts, but don't forget to log out!)

Then you will walk under the stairs through the hallway to find the 3rd bedroom, The Sage room. It's simple design with wooden accents truly makes this room the coziest of all. Walk back into the hallway and find the 2nd full bathroom is right outside of the door.

And last, there is the 4th bedroom, The Cactus room, which is downstairs and is our biggest room. It features its own french doors with access to a small patio with Adirondack chairs to read or enjoy your coffee in the morning. It combos as an office, hang out room, game room and has a futon/sofa bed for extra sleeping arrangements. The 2nd full bathroom is right outside the door here as well.

*PLEASE NOTE* The Hideaway has a rustic feel, and some of the natural wear and tear adds to it's charm. Be aware that being in the mountains, you may encounter occasional dust and leaves on the decks and patios due to the windy conditions. While we do our best to keep everything tidy, perfection isn't always possible. Your comfort and satisfaction are our top priorities, so if you notice any cleanliness issues, safety concerns, or amenities not working as expected, please don't hesitate to reach out to us! Our dedicated management team will promptly address any issues to ensure you have a delightful stay.

Something for everyone
We enjoyed the proximity to the national forest. There was still snow on the ground from a big storm the weekend before we arrived, but once it melted, we went on some beautiful, longer hikes. The accommodations are well appointed, attractive, and very comfortable and cozy. The dogs loved the surrounding area, but it's not fully fenced, so if you have a dog that likes to chase rabbits or deer, better plan on keeping on the leash. There is lots of deck space with beautiful views. The beds were very comfortable... high quality linens, etc. I highly recommend!

Perfect winter holiday getaway!!
Can't say enough good things about the Hideaway! The cabin is situated on the South Western approach to Idyllwild, with stunning views from the deck and more just a short hike up the hill. There was snow and ice the week we were there and the owner was very communicative about the need for caution and chains. When people showed up without them, the neighbors were friendly and helped pack things up the hill to the cabin. Only met great people while there! The cabin itself is large and spacious; 8 people were comfortable and had plenty of privacy. The space is elegantly and modernly appointed and every amenity mentioned on the listing was accessible and easy to use. The hot tub worked perfectly, the heat in the cabin was on point, and it was so beautifully quiet at night. With effortless access to park land, minutes from downtown Idyllwild and friendly hosts, we'll definitely be back to the Hideaway!

Perfect family trip
This house was perfect for our 2 families to meet up during the holidays. Plenty of room, comfortable beds, and a great property for the kids to run around. We didn’t even have to drive for hiking. Scott is an amazing host, he was very responsive to any questions we had. Thanks, we’d love to stay here again.

About the host

Host profile image
Hi! My name is Scott. My wife Lucy and I are from the east coast but landed in Los Angeles 15 years ago. We love the ocean but wanted a getaway in the mountains. We were fortunate enough to find a gem of a house set on 1 acre of land so we could enjoy the outdoors and relaxing and star gazing. We are so excited to share that with others who share the same love of the outdoors as well.

Why they chose this property

Set on 1 acre up in the mountains, we get the amazing crisp air, beautiful views and most of all, seclusion. We are set away from any major road or highway. Just listen to the birds chirp while sipping on your coffee or enjoy a drink in the hot tub while stargazing.

What makes this property unique

1 acre.
3 decks and a patio.
Very secluded.
Walk out of the front gate and you are in the San Bernardino National Forest.
