We were impressed with the entire environment! We were impressed with how well the fireplace drafted to provide warmth and a cozy atmosphere. It was a perfect yard for our pups. The owners thought of everything to make it a fabulous stay! We will be back!!!
Dog friendly home in a great location walking distance to town. Our dogs loved sniffing around the large fenced in back yard and we enjoyed watching them from the patio with the mountain views. The fireplace was great for warming up and relaxing after a day out hiking. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything needed for meals at home. We will definitely stay here again the next time we visit Idyllwild.
We had a very nice cozy stay. The cabin was everything we hoped for, and had a fully stocked kitchen with everything we needed. Also has a nice deck to enjoy morning coffee. Quiet peaceful location close to town. Great communication from owners. Would definitely return for another visit.
The cabin was cozy with enough space to be really comfortable. Host was accommodating and easy to connect with. Very clean with everything one needs. Would visit again. Thanks!
Nice and cozy place. Everything was great, enough heaters to keep us warm. My dogs had fun and they were safe. I recommend it for a couple or 2 people and a dog.
Our second stay at Harold's cabin.
Perfect location walk to town.
Great weather beautiful back deck. Cabin has everything and more.
See you next time 🐾
Even more charming than the nice photos can show. So nice to open a door and see big smiles and hear wow’s from the family. The fun bear themed cottage was perfect for small family or two couples to enjoy. Great kitchen and supplies for morning coffee on the deck to enjoy the quiet morning and fresh mountain air. Our little Havanese dog took to the provided dog bed in an instant and now has his own back home. Quiet comfort in the woods we can recommend with 5-stars and big smiles.
This was the perfect cottage for a perfect weekend. Cozy cottage with plenty of room inside, board games to play, and a nice bear theme throughout. The back yard was large and had plenty of room for snow play. Our kid didn't want to leave and asked if we could just stay forever.
Trekked out to the Honey Bear cottage for our daughters birthday, and to get out of LA. We were battling traffic for well over 5 hours, but were greeted with a warm home on a cold night. The place was just great! Huge backyard to play ball/horseshoe, all the amenities needed, centrally located to everything, and the decor. Bears everywhere! The family loved finding bear easter eggs/hidden gems throughout. Would highly recommend. The hosts, Elena and Harold, were super communicative and helpful. Also acidentally left my wedding ring in the bathroom and they reached out to let me know they found it and are mailing it back. How awesome is that?! Really impressed by the kindness and thoughtfulness of Elena and Harold
Honey Bear Cottage,is one of the best homes I’ve ever rented for a vacation stay. I would highly recommend this home to anyone. This home is very cozy and comfortable. Everything you need has been provided for a pleasant stay. It’s located in a very quiet neighborhood, and is the perfect place if you are looking for rest and relaxation. The home owners are attentive, and are truly concerned that your stay at their home meets your expectations. I would definitely recommend this place to my family and friends. Thank you for making our stay so pleasant.

Loved our time spent at the Honeybear. It felt like home. The kitchen was well stocked for all of your cooking needs, the bedrooms were cozy and comfy (plenty of warm soft bedding, pillows and fluffy towels), and the fireplace had all the wood we needed for our stay.
The weather took a turn while we were there but we didn't care. We spent our time playing games and puzzles (well stocked thank you), cooking and watching movies on the smart TV. The cabin has all the shovels and brooms you could need to fight off the snow. Even an umbrella for that short walk into town or a stroll.
The only thing two downsides are the windows. The curtains in the bedroom are completely sheer so it was hard to feel like there was any privacy or to block the early morning sun. We used the many many throw blankets to cover up those windows. Some privacy shades would be helpful.
Also, while brand new, about half of the windows between the bathroom and bedrooms don't lock which was a security concern. Given the inclement weather we had I was a little less worried but This would be the only reason I would hesitate to stay again in the future.
Harold and Elena were wonderful hosts.
Amazing little cottage. It's right in town where you can walk to the stores and restaurants. Also near easy trails at a regional park. Nicely furnished with everything you need to just stay in a cook a home meal. Although if you want good steak, bring in from home. The grocery store that we went to up there did not have good steak. They also didn't have Julian pie which is something I always find in small towns like this. But they had everything else. The backyard was huge and the dogs loved it. The desk is also pretty big and just a nice place to relax. The hosts were also very nice and attentive. The hands down best thing was the level 2 EV charger to completely eliminate range anxiety when you're up there. I always get range anxiety when I'm so far from civilization, but it was just so nice not having to worry about not having enough charge to just drive around and explore.
We had a great time at the cabin. My parents went for their 50th anniversary. We had champagne waiting for them and cute flowers on the bed. Cabin was in excellent condition. Only negative would be that the bathroom was much smaller than I had expected. Which made it difficult since my mom needs help when using the restroom. However we made it work and had a great weekend in Idyllwild.
The check in process was very easy! We got there Friday night and the heater was on and the fire built ready to light was a very nice touch along with chocolates! The cottage is very cozy, clean and comfortable! The backyard is completely fenced in which was nice for our furry babies. The EV charger was also awesome! We've stayed at several different cottages in Idyllwild and this is our new favorite!!
We enjoyed our stay at Honey Bear. Highlights: gated deck and fenced yard to enjoy with our dog, nice towels and sheets, close enough to town to walk yet not too close. Elena and Harold were effective and prompt communicators which we greatly appreciated.
I went with my partner and a friend + 3 dogs and everyone enjoyed their stay. The dogs loved the yard and we loved the comfortable beds and kitchenette that was equipped with pretty much everything we needed
I went to high school in Idlewild and was back visiting for my 34th reunion. This cabin was the perfect place to stay!! Not only was it clean and cozy and well stocked with everything we could need, but it was incredibly nostalgic and the perfect place to enjoy the weekend. I told my husband numerous times that I wanted to come back and stay at HoneyBear Cottage again!! The beds are incredibly comfortable! We had a few friends over and there was plenty of room for me and my friends to sit around and reminisce about old times! I highly recommend this place!! We also had questions that were quickly answered by the owners. A wonderful visit all the way around!!
