This is an amazing house and great hosts! We had to find a place to stay for three months during construction and this home was ideal, but it would also be great for a short stay (has amenities for short but room to bring your own items as well). We had an issue with heat that was addressed immediately and led to a brand new furnace, so very reliable heat for future guests too.James responded right away to any questions.Highly recommend!
We had a great stay. We stayed at the property while our home renovation wrapped up. The home accommodated our dog and 2 teenagers who go to the High School. The home was clean and simple. Neighbors were friendly. James was very responsive.

Thanks Katie, for your 5-star review. You and your family were very respectful of our property and communication was great. Thank you!
The area was beautiful and close to coffee shops, restaurants and local grocery store. Lovely area to walk. The bedrooms were adequate, but no dressers for your clothes or TV's. The living room had a nice large, comfortable couch!

Thank you for your review of our modest home. The best thing about our property is the neighborhood. Located close to parks, Lake Michigan, restaurants and downtown Milwaukee, it's a highly desirable area.
The Cape Cod Cottage is adorable! Great location and walkable to the lake front, shops and restaurants.
James is a wonderful host, easy to communicate with.

Thank you for your wonderful review. You and your family were fantastic guests.
The house is clean, charming, and has all needed amenities. While the weather wasn’t warm enough for us to enjoy it, the back deck is very nice for summer days and evenings. The house is in a great neighborhood close to anything you’d want or need. Also, the owners are very responsive to all communications. We enjoyed our stay and had zero complaints!

James was so accommodating! He went over & above to make sure we had a pleasant experience. The house was in a great location; walking distance to many fun things!

Thank you for your kind review Katey! We are so glad that you enjoyed your extended stay in our home.
Short drive to downtown and very close to the lakefront. Everything you need in the kitchen and a great back deck with beautiful flowers and trees. Safe and quiet neighborhood with nearby access to all you need. I would definitely stay there again. James was highly communicative and happy to help.

Thanks Paul for your fantastic review of our vacation rental. You were a 5 Star Guest and we would love to have you stay again.
The house was clean and at a convenient location within the village of Whitefish Bay. The mattresses of the single beds were not comfortable. On the upper floor, the rooms were hot and the portable air conditioning unit was noisy. There were not enough clean towels prepared when we checked in as some of them were in the washer/dryer.

Lisa and I are really surprised at your 3 star review. We really try to do everything possible to make our guests feel at home and comfortable. We stayed in the house 2 weeks, prior to your visit and were perfectly comfortable. We bought new bath and hand towels and two large fans, to improve air circulation upstairs, before we left. Again, we try to do our best for our guests.
The house was very clean and comfortable. Just an FYI, there is a 'no shoe policy'. Wish there was a bench close to the front door as it was difficult for my elderly father to get his shoes off and on standing right inside the door.

Mary, thank you for your review and for respecting our 'no outside shoes indoors' policy. Your suggestion about a bench is a good one. We thought that the kitchen chairs near the front door would be adequate. Thank you and please come back again.
We enjoyed our 2-week stay at this wonderful home in beautiful Whitefish Bay, just a short 10 min drive to the heart of Downtown Milwaukee. We came to town for a national championship sporting event that my teens were competing in. They need a really comfortable recovery environment and good, healthy food while they are competing over 10 days. This gorgeous house could not have been more perfect. The neighborhood is idyllic, the people are friendly and the house is fantastic. It was restorative and restful to be in such a peaceful environment. The house was clean, beautiful and had everything we needed for our stay. The owner was so helpful and check in and check out was a breeze. Getting to the tournament at Baird was super easy, as was driving 5 min to Trader Joe’s and the outdoor mall. My teens performed amazingly and I’m sure we have this comfortable house and quiet street to thank for this. Enjoy your stay!

Melissa, thank you for your 5-star review of our property. You and your family were very respectful guests and we would love to have you return!
The house is very small-would be perfect for a couple w two children. It would have been nice to have another full bed instead of two twins. The only table to eat at is very small. It was basically clean-entry wood floors could have been cleaner. It is an old home with a chopped up layout…yard unkept with some trash in backyard. Overall very average stay.

Julie we appreciate your feedback, but the description is very clear on our listing as to the size of the home (1,600 sq. ft.) with pictures of the beds. You booked the house for two people and a dog, so how much room do you need? You brought a large dog over our limit of 35 pounds, which we still allowed. Your dog required extra cleaning and you did not leave the house tidy for our cleaners. We would not want you to stay in our home again.
We have rented many homes over the last few years. We have always had 5 homes except this one. The beds were hard. The towels and bed linens were thin, we could see through the bath towels and only one wash cloth in the upstairs and downstairs bathrooms. It was a super hot weekend and the upstairs never cooled down, one fan didn’t work and another was a box fan that added minimal help. The front entry has a really high step to get up on the porch with no handrails. You really can’t tell this from the picture on VRBO. The location was great for the wedding event, we went up to Wisconsin for. Close to restaurants and other venues.

Thank you for your feedback. We had just purchased new towels and washcloths prior to your visit. Unfortunately, when new items like towels are put out they disappear! We would have sent our cleaners over with new towels, but your visit was very brief, only two nights. In regard to the hot weather, the upstairs main bedroom has a supplemental window a/c unit, but the smaller bedroom faces the south and it is hard to cool. That's true. We said that you could buy another fan for that room at the Target less than a mile away, but you said that you were fine with the second fan. The front step is code for it's height. It's one step. We understand that we cannot please everyone, but we try to do our best.
This home was perfect! My husband and I need to escape the Florida heat in the summer. Finding this home on VRBO was a dream come true for us. It is located in the village of Whitefish Bay a very safe and vibrant community. So many restaurants and summer activities most a nice walk or five minute drive away. You will be conveniently located a short drive from Milwaukee’s festivals, restaurants and lakefront. It’s a short drive from the Milwaukee airport too. Whatever you may be coming to Milwaukee to do, you will be close to that activity. Summerfest, Brewers Games, the Wisconsin State fair. Really everything.
The house is just perfect! The pictures don’t do it justice. Very roomy, comfortable and equipped with everything you need. Whitefish Bay homes are known for their character and charm and this home fits right in. A lovely porch in the backyard to enjoy the summer days and nights. The owner James, responds immediately if you have any questions or issues. He is wonderful to work with.We will definitely be back!

What makes this property unique
For visitors looking to stay in a quiet village close to a major shopping mall, restaurants and of course Lake Michigan, this is the vacation home for you. The house has hardwood floors, T.V. with Roku, Wi-Fi. An armoire, walk-in closet and en suite bathroom featuring a jetted soaking tub and corner glass shower are in the master bedroom. If you enjoy espresso, you are welcome to start your day with one. Colectivo is the local purveyor of coffee and they have a great bakery. I prefer their location in the village of Shorewood. The kitchen is available for your use with storage for food in the pantry and refrigerator. Otherwise, there are restaurants (Kopp's Frozen Custard is a Milwaukee classic) as well as a variety of fast food places near the Bayshore shopping mall.
THE OUTDOORS: All within minutes on foot or by bicycle: The Oak Leaf Trail, Milwaukee River Trails, McKinley Marina, Big Bay Park, Atwater Beach, Urban Ecology Center, Bradford Beach, Lake Drive historic architecture, outdoor German beer garden at Estabrook Park and the newly renovated Bavarian Bierhaus in Glendale and of course, Lake Michigan where an early morning sunrise is only a 15 minute walk from the house.
BUS: The bus stop is 10 minutes away on foot and will take you into the city.
BICYCLE: Bring your bicycles, because this area is a bicyclist's dream.
CAR: If you have a car, there is free off-street parking available.
