Relax on the terrace or dock, play in the water, kayak or canoe, the choice is yours. The large kitchen is fully equipped to chef up a wonderful meal and seat the whole family. Room for everyone!

The host requires you to complete the following before checking out:
Remove personal items, remove leftover food and drinks and take out the rubbish
Turn off the lights and lock the doors
Leave the place as you found it. Take out the garbage. Disposal address is 3901 Brunel Road, Baysville. Additional charges apply for any garbage left behind as per the rental agreement.
Store away all outdoor furniture stacked as you found them. Turn Canoe and Kayaks upside down keeping paddles underneath.
Switch off all lights and lock the doors and windows. Ensure dehumidifier is in working condition, that is empty the water bucket so it starts up.
Failure to complete these may result in a negative review from the host.
Confirm via text message upon arrival and once depart. Only the names of the guests and cars registered are allowed at the property at all times.
Rubbish disposal address 3901 Brunel Road. Dumpster is free of charge. Rubbish left will be charged at $20/bag medium and $30 for large for removal
Leave pots/pans/cookware appliances clean and in place as you find them so they are suitable for next guests. Items left burned/damaged, $40/each.

Great cottage for a multi generational family. Comfortable rooms, good kitchen, deck, great view of lake and easy access with kayaks and canoe provided. Owner was very responsive and helpful.

Cottage was nice and clean and it was well equipped with everything you need. The lake is gorgeous and excellent for swimming. The dock was old and shaky and exterior grounds were not well kept. The property is frequented by Canada geese and droppings were found throughout the lawn. Wearing sandals or flip-flops while outdoors is required.

A beautiful, very clean cottage. Perfect quiet lake great for swimming, canoeing and kayaking. The host was very easy to deal with and quick to respond to any questions. Huntsville was 13 min away and had lovely shops and restaurants. We made wonderful family memories and hope to be back!

Beautiful Accommodation

Beautiful property with everything we needed to enjoy Muskoka on the Lake. Otter lake is a quiet lake great for swimming or relaxing on a floaty. The host was accommodating and quick to respond to any of our questions or needs. The property was easy to find and a short drive into town made it accessible for a quick drive back to anything we forgot. Looking forward to future visits!

Good Lake time

Spacious and clean with comfortable furniture and beds. Two washrooms to use between 6 people was good. Best Part - the 2 kayaks and the canoe - used them daily for a little jaunt around the lake.

Overall this place was perfect for our summer cottage trip. The lake was beautiful to swim in! There is no AC so dress accordingly, but most of our days were spent in the water and outside anyways. The kitchen is well equipped and there was great water pressure and hot and cold water. The owner communicated everything well for the arrival and closing procedures. A short drive to downtown Huntsville which was perfect. Great space on the deck to eat outside. We would book this cottage again.

We spent an excellent week relaxing and swimming at this cottage! We were a party of two seniors, three adults, and two kids (9 yo and 7 yo). It was a great fit for everyone! The lake is super quiet and very clear, with no weeds off the dock or in the shallow entry. The kayaks and canoe were fun for exploring the lily pad areas in the lake, and the kids loved swimming off the dock. The shallow entry was great for those who wanted to wade in, though water shoes are best once you are a few feet off shore as it gets a bit silty/slimy (normal).The cottage matched the description, and was comfortable and spacious. We were there during a few hotter days, and the ceiling fans and many windows allowed us to keep it comfortable inside. One note is that the photos include a room with bunk beds - this is NOT available/present anymore. The listed beds/rooms in the description are correct. The wifi was fine- pretty good for cottage wifi, allowed video calls or multiple devices with no slow-downs. The cell service varies by provider - one person was on SOS the whole time (telus), others had LTE and 2 bars or more (freedom, bell). Check-in was via a code to a door, texted the morning of arrival, which was smooth. The cottage was very clean, and the check-out requests were very reasonable.We really enjoyed our week here, and would stay again. Star gazing during the perseid meteor shower, watching a bald eagle soar over the lake, and roasting marshmallows at sunset were highlights.

Comfortable cottage on small peaceful lake

Our 5-night stay at Kumee's comfortable cottage was very pleasant. Otter Lake is small and non-motorized, making it good for swimming, and during our late-August visit the mosquitoes were few and far between, at least in the daytime. Kumee was quick to respond and was always helpful. Thank you, Kumee!

Excellent property for our quiet extended family stay (ages 5-92). The kayaks and the canoe were in good condition and and the smaller lake size was perfect for older (90) family members who can't quite manage full canoe trips.. Do bring your own paddles if you care about such things (we did - provided ones were fine, but on the shorter side).House is clean and in excellent shape. Kitchen is sizeable so you can feed a small crowd comfortably (over the weekend we had 9 comfortably in 4 bedrooms). It's 15 minutes to Huntsville, so no worrying if we had packed absolutely everything.Property manager was always prompt and helpful.

Family Get-Away

We had a wonderful Family getaway. It included a young family, a couple grandparents and of course a fun, auntie and uncle. Otter Lake was the perfect location for us. It was extremely clean and had a lovely feel of spaciousness both inside the cottage and in the yard. The weather was not the best for the first couple days with a fair bit of rain, however, during the breaks, time spent in the kayaks on the perfectly calm water was a highlight. And my 8 yrs old nephew, was obsessed with fishing off the end of the dock with his dad. Oh, and of course, the foosball table was a big hit too! We enjoyed nice walks along the road and through the beautiful trees. On our last night, the weather cleared and we had a lovely campfire 🔥 with wonderful views of the lake, serving as our backdrop. When the night grew darker, the skies opened up even more to reveal a stunning display of stars, including several shooting stars 💫 Our host was extremely quick to respond and we do not hesitate recommending this location to other families. The only tip that I recommend is to have cash available for when you take your garbage to the dump disposal.
