Welcome to Log Haven! This is the quintessential Colorado experience: a sprawling 1937 hand-hewn log home tucked into the foothills just west of Denver. Whether you're kicking back, catching a show, or hitting the slopes, you're in the right place!

2000+ SF raised ranch on 3 levels offers both coziness and room to spread out. Sleeps 6 in 4 bedrooms (1 King, 1 Queen, 2 Twins in Loft, 4 XL Twins in Bunk Room). 2.5 baths. Game room. Washer/dryer. 2 wooded acres. Easy Denver access.

MAIN LEVEL
• A warm living room with leather furnishings gathered around a wood stove.
• Game room (adjacent to living area) with 10' shuffleboard, darts and board games
• Large galley kitchen well equipped for easy meal-prep, whether it is a simple picnic or a holiday feast.
• Inviting dining room that easily seats 10 for festive meals with family and friends.
• Primary bedroom: king bed
• 2nd bedroom: queen bed
• Whimsical loft with two twin beds and over-the-top cabin charm.(up a narrow & steep staircase)
• One full bath with tub/shower -- low water pressure common in this bath; quite adequate for showering, but lower than the pressure in downstairs shower. (Please note: the other 1.5 bathrooms are on the ground level -- down a fairly steep staircase. It is a quirky layout, but it works for most folks!)

• Log Haven sits on two wooded acres and is a photographer's paradise! Get comfortable on any of the inviting stone patios and observe deer, elk, fox, Albert's squirrels, and a variety of birds. Listen for the resident Great Horned Owl pair as the sun sets.
• Easy access to Mt. Falcon hiking, Red Rocks Amphitheater, fun and funky mountain towns like Morrison and Evergreen, as well as the Denver Metro area.
• Delicious regional dining options range from the laid back Mac Nation Cafe to fine dining, Western Style, at The Fort Restaurant.
• Easy access to Red Rocks, Denver, and countless hiking trails. To estimate drive times, GPS "Indian Hills Water District".

OTHER THINGS TO NOTE
• COOLING is via evaporative cooler. Rarely needed, but good to have if you get an unusually hot day!

• AWD or 4WD is highly recommended in winter and muddy seasons.

• This is an OLD cabin with original and rambling cabin charm. That means that there are steep and narrow stairs, low loft railings, quirky bathroom locations, lower water pressure, uneven stone walkways and more! Most folks find the vintage details to be charming. If you are looking for a modern layout, ensuite bathrooms, etc., Log Haven may not work well for you. Wonderful Christmas Celebration

We had a great stay. The cabin is very cozy and works great for a family. The owners had decorated the house for Christmas so beautifully. Plenty of equipment in the kitchen to cook for a crowd and everyone had enough space. Would definitely recommend it! Thanks so much!

Great little get away, close to Denver

Very cool cabin, felt like we were further away from Denver than 20 minutes. Super clean, unique and fun. The only negative would be the furnace made noise at night and kept a few people up.

The wedding

The cabin was the perfect place to gather and get ready for the wedding. We were able to relax, enjoy family we don't see very often and laugh a lot. Amazing Log Cabin!

Our family loved this cozy, rambling, vintage log cabin. Grandkids loved the bunk room and the loft and quickly claimed their rooms. The living room was so comfortable with lots of seating. Well equipped kitchen, wonderful large dining table, game room. I could go on and on. Hosts provided wonderful extra touches which we appreciated. Deer and bunnies outside. A wonderful stay. Thanks!

We are very sorry to hear that you were unable to make the main floor shower/bath work - that must have been frustrating. Please know that if you had contacted us via vrbo — or even by phone, email or text — at any time during your stay, we would have assisted you immediately! We live nearby and always quickly address any issues a guest might have. The upstairs tub/shower definitely works and the guests before and after you used it. Additionally, we have personally checked on it to be sure it is fully operational, and it is. Since there are several styles of shower valves, perhaps ours was just one your guest hadn’t encountered before? For people with mobility issues, the downstairs bathroom would be the most accessible, as it is entered from the same level as the driveway (but does require two steps down to the bathroom). Log Haven is a 1930’s cabin and it is definitely not for everyone! It has some quirks — irregular/steep stairs being one of them — and we carefully detail that in the property description.

Wildlife, Beauty, & Serenity

What an awesome rental! Outstanding & peaceful location. Beautiful environment inside the home and surrounding community. Feels secluded in the mountains; however, it's semi-close to Denver. A short drive through the mountains will get you to Red Rocks. Delicious restaurants nearby (BBQ, gourmet mac'n'cheese, breakfast cafes, Vietnamese, pizza). We saw elk and deer in the yard! Less than 5 minutes to several hiking trails and a small trout stream (Bear Creek). The host was incredibly accommodating through his timely communication and the thoughtful accoutrements found throughout the house. Stylish, updated-rustic, and elegant decor. Lots of games. Stocked kitchen. Comfortable beds throughout. Super clean. Firewood provided. If you like the outdoors and/or living comfortably, I highly recommend this place!!!

Perfect Cabin with great location.

Our stay here couldn't have been any better. The cabin is absolutely incredible and makes you feel like you stepped back in time but with all the modern conveniences you could want. Everyone’s reaction when we first walked in was “wow!” Jennifer was extremely easy to communicate with and made sure we had everything we needed. It was a quick drive to Red Rocks and locks hikes. The home was really a highlight of our trip. I highly recommend staying here for your trip to Indian Hills/Morrison.

Easy communication and what an adorable cabin. Plenty of space for our entire group. We were all adults but I would easily go back with my kids. About 15 min away from Red Rock. Good dining options in surrounding towns. I would highly recommend the cabin.

Had all the amenities needed. Has a unique floor plan, one bathroom on main floor, two in the basement. Makes it somewhat difficult to access the bathroom in the middle of the night. Very low water pressure in all showers. Had higher expectations based on the price. Cute place just be aware that it is a unique property.

Wonderful place

We stayed here with another couple and had a wonderful time. We loved the game room it made for a fun night in. Everything was there that we needed and more. We would definitely go back but would stay there a few more days.
