Great property in BEAUTIFUL community. Check in details were a little bumby (gate passes), but otherwise very nice stay. I would definitely stay at this property in the future!
Beautiful house and a great location. We never had to drive more than 15 min. to any of the golf courses we played. The beach was a 2 min. walk and was great. My only negatives are that the deck chairs needed to be cleaned (by us) in order to sit outside, the stairway to the garage needed a good cleaning and some of the lights needed the bulbs changed. All in all it was still a great stay and we enjoyed the layout of the house and the bedroom/bath setup.
Very good Localization, nice property
Only one problem huge cockroaches!

Functional but dated
House is very dated and needs refreshed. Garage needs TLC and major cleaning. Overall, house was clean. Picture over fireplace was broken and falling out of the frame. Many of the window inserts were broken and need removed.
We truly enjoyed our stay in this house. It was perfect for our family of 6. Connection with the property manager was good, ie, quick response to questions. There was an issue with internet which was quickly addressed by both manager and owner.
Location is great and we loved the Charleston Grant community
We had two families come to stay at Litchfield - have stayed in various parts of the resort before in condos and houses. Charlestowne has a handful of advantages - more private, private pool, private beach access, and generally quieter. The beach is much less crowded than other areas and the pool has better amenities and requires a keycard to get into. House location - very close to the pool and beach - easy to walk to (less than 3 minutes). Views of the marsh as well as parts of the beach / ocean from the top floor, which was nice. Pool requires a keycard to get in and one was provided during the stay. House condition - as advertised. The kitchen has the basics though not much more. Bedrooms all have queen beds, furniture older - one or two of the bedrooms having a set of twin beds or bunks could help optimzie it. Decent stock of beach gear in the garage (e.g., chairs). Interior bathrooms all seem original to when house was built.
House delivered what was promised and all were happy with it. Communication with Manager was quick and helpful. We had an issue with the pool having work done and not open for us but after call to house manager, we were offered a solution that was workable for us. Location is away from the craziness of "biker week" but close enough to all restaurants, shopping and tourist attractions.

Needs a lot of TLC for the price
I don’t think we would stay here again. House needs a lot of TLC for the price they are asking. Kitchen was poorly stocked, several windows need replacing, light in master bathroom hardly works etc. Check in was at 4:00, we arrived at 4:30 and cleaning crew was still there. Nice location though.

Not Exactly As Described
Two phrases in the title are misleading. This is not a Luxury house and there is no Spectacular View of the beach or the ocean. As others have noted, the house is in desperate need of upgrades and you can barely see a glimpse of the ocean from the top floor balcony. Not being able to use the elevator is also a negative. The house is big and is great for a large, young family. It is conveniently located and is in a quiet area of the resort. The pool is close by and just a short walk to the beach. The property owner was good to work with as was the property manager. For me, I would not stay again as the price is too much for the house.
The house was beautiful and clean. Unfortunately when we booked this property for spring break, it never indicated that the pool didn't open until May. That was added to the description AFTER we booked and I was not happy about that. I would not have booked the property if I knew that. That was a major disappointment for our family. For the price of the house, they should include beach items, chairs, toys, etc. As well as beach towels. There were some beach items that were so old and ragged they couldn't be used. The house is in a great location and the beach is quiet and fantastic. Easy quick walk. The pool is basically in the back yard and would have been amazing if opened. I can't give this review a 5 due to the pool issue but the property was nice and Laurie was easy to get a hold of.
The house was in prime location to beach and pool! Easy walking to both.Location, Location, Location!
The house was nice and attractive, it could use some more pots and pans, especially some oven mitts. We made do and still had a great week at the beach. It has a perfect setup for two small families or 4 couples each with own bathroom. A door knob would have made things a lot easier into the basement, that was a pain. You had to keep door locked to keep door closed with a dead bolt only. That means everyone had to walk around to front porch and in or leave the door open, letting air out. Or leave the key in the door, was our easiest option. We had a nice vacation and loved the porches. Note to owner- handrail on top porch on side needs a bolt, it is missing and handrail is not very secure. Cable and internet worked great. Lots of tvs. We loved the restaurants nearby- Rustic Table and Hanser House. Beach in that area was not too crowded ever, unlike the big resorts, plenty of space.
House was clean but bed linens were worn. House furnishings show above average wear and disrepair. Multiple lights did not work - kitchen overhead, MBR overhead, missing bulb in down BR. Several beds did not have mattress pads and several mattresses had urine stains. Shared driveway a nuisance and required garage parking. One wall door opener did not work. Only one garage door remote opener but worked both doors. If the car with remote was gone, one garage door with cars was locked in. Kitchen utensils and cookware was outdated - dishwasher makes grinding noise - no Keurig. Master BR TV streaming did not work. Some TV channels had poor reception. WiFi was okay. Host said they would drop by a pool access card but didn’t.

Nice property that needs repairs
The house is conveniently located for beach and pool access, there was plenty of room for 4 couples with lots of privacy, however, there were several things not working or inoperable that were annoying and inconvenient that led to the 3 star rating :
1. The garage door openers would not close the doors thereby creating the need for someone to close them then run upstairs and out the front door; very inconvenient and annoying.
2. The walk through door out of the basement was inoperable there by creating the need to run upstairs to go out after closing the garage doors.
3. The elevator was not working. Schlepping luggage up 3 floors not fun.
4. The washoff shower in the basement was inoperable..
5. There was a shortage of pots, pans etc. in the kitchen.
6. With 7 people showering after a day on the beach we ran out of hot water.
Given the deficiencies versus the price I don't think we would return.

Dear Mr. Grant
I am sorry for the inconveniences that you experienced.
The news about the garage remote control not working properly is new to me.
Thank you for info regarding that because none of the occupants reported it after your stay.
The elevator had been never offered and never will be for safety reasons.(kids not using it properly caused an accident).
The shower in the garage is extra and nobody reported the problem with it. Last time I inspected it at the end of April and it was working properly.
At the same time, I refilled all missing kitchen supplies.
I am surprised to hear about hot water shortage. In this house water can run non stop and never gets cold (Tankless water heater)
PLEASE READ!!!!! This property is dirty, rundown and needs a lot of work. This home has sooo many issues. Broken rocking chairs, old uncomfortable couch that is clearly very old and dated. ( in a previous review the owner stated that it was new) , FILTHY air vents, dusty, random. items found in each room. (We found things in the master bedroom that no one wants to find -DISGUSTING!!!) The garage has spider webs and tons of bugs and mold everywhere. The door to enter the house came off the hinge and the elevator was broken. The house manager wanted to send numerous people there all week to fix items that we notified her about. We did not want random people coming and going and did not want to sit there and wait all day and not enjoy the beach. These issues should’ve been addressed before. When we told Laurie how our experience was, she apologized and said that the owner was going to fix things this summer but couldn’t because the house was already booked. Windows aren’t sealed properly wood rot everywhere, overgrowth everywhere. Their is a little area behind the garage where there should be a flower box and it’s overgrown with weeds and a random pipe and other garbage is just laying there. Literally no maintenance on this property for years. Laurie the property manager says that she’s the only person who cleans the home and that she has a few hours to flip it between families that come to stay there. This house is very big and this would nearly be impossible for someone to do especially when you have to wash all the linens on top of it. I don’t believe any of the comforters have ever been cleaned. The doors to the porches don’t say steeled so if you want to go sit on the porch you have to leave the door open. I have numerous pictures if needed.
The neighborhood, the beach access and the pool are great. We ate out for every meal and spent most of our time at the pool and the beach. We tried to make the best of it.

I am very disappointed that you mentioned all the inconveniences that you experienced during your vacation the day before your vacation was over and asked for a discount.
The elevator in the house is not available and locked. The wooden racking chairs are being replaced constantly if needed. The sofas are 4 years old and they are being replaced every 4-5 years. Under the house there is 4 car garage that has openings to allow free water flow from he ocean in case of hurricane etc. It is not surprising to find spider webs and other bugs inside - it is South Carolina. Every 3 months the house and garage area is being serviced by professional pest control company. Air condition system, vents and filters are being inspected and serviced every 6 months by professional contractor. If we get an information from persons staying in the house that something is broken, we send the repair service asap. I am sorry but I can not offer you a discount.

Our family had a great stay! Great home and great management! Only thing to keep in mind, online description says 2 dogs allowed, however, the manager said no dogs, so if you have furry friends, lol, you may want to clarify with manager. We would definitely stay again.
We had a great time. 4 generations. House could use some upgrades for the price. Dishes and silverware are very mismatched and hodgepodge. Beds okay but need new mattresses soon. Beautiful house. Lots of space.
