We had a great holiday weekend! The house was decorated beautifully and the beach is right down the road. We loved the fire pit and backyard area. Karen and Bill were super attentive and friendly too! We would definitely rent the house again.

Pleasant stay, convenient location
Overall good experience. This is not a single property but is joined to another unit which makes it less private. Nice furnishing in common areas and very secluded. Off a main road, so some street noise. We had a great time in Biddeford and Biddeford Pool with excellent days out in neighbouring towns.

HI Alan, happy to know you enjoyed your time in Biddeford. Thanks for choosing us for your stay!
We chose this house for its location (proximity to our sister) and wheelchair accessibility to the entry way. Our host allowed us access to measure for a mini ramp.(Thank you)
We would have brought coffee if we knew there was only a bit of instant, although that did get us thru the first morning. The firepit was a wonderful amenity. We were entertained by the peepers from the large pond behind (although many thought the sound was birds. I should say insisted)
I would rent again since it provided all we needed and wanted.
A home away from home! We were amazed at how spacious and beautifully renovated this home was from the moment we entered. There were thoughtful little touches here and there and it made this space truly feel like a new home. We loved the fire pit and the fire place inside, which were both cozy corners to curl up in for slow starts to the day and after dinner. We also found that this cottage was a great launching pad for all of the activities we wanted to do, but still secluded enough to feel like a getaway. The place was immaculate when we arrived and the hosts generously provided towels for the beach and for the bathroom that we could use. We highly recommend it!
"Equipped with starter supplies"! Please note this is very true. All containers had very little to offer from shampoo to conditioner to dishwasher detergent to towels to instant coffee to dishes. We were a family of 8 and were initially provided a set of bath towels for 6 people. There were 2 beach towels. No queen sheets at all for the pullout sofa bed. There were literally 8 plates and 4 decent coffee mugs. We had to run the dishwasher sometimes twice a day and then ended up buying paper plates. The gas grill hadn't probably been cleaned in a long time. There was evidence that a critter was making a nest in it. We had one kitchen towel. Upon entering the house, there were 3 notes on the coat stand that asked us to take off shoes and keep downstairs. Upstairs on the "welcome" board there were 5 more notes asking us to keep all shoes downstairs. We did do this. There were 3 notes on the fridge asking us to not use abrasive materials in the kitchen, keep sand out of washing machine, empty garbage. Collectively, we all found these notes "off putting". They weren't really welcoming at all. I notified the owner Saturday night after we arrived of these issues about sheets/towels. She responded on Tuesday and we did receive additional towels on Thursday late afternoon and checked out 2 days later.
On the plus side, the house was very clean! It was roomy and we had plenty of space. The bonfire area was cozy. The 2 full bathrooms worked out well for all of us.

Hi Nanette, we are sorry to hear that you expected more supplies. We do try to keep everything filled for each guest stay. Sometimes the cleaner have an off day due to a hectic summer schedule. This could have been easily rectified if you let us know during your stay. My husband asked you if you needed anything while he was there and you told him you were all set. Its definitely not a usual thing. Also. Sorry you didn't find the notes or signs useful- others live them. Its hard to keep sand from scratching white oak floors and to also keep the house clean for the next guest we ask for shoes off. And in regard to the abrasives note, A guest who did not know any better on day one of the brand new stove used abrasive cleaner on a glass cooktop which scratched the top and cannot be repaired, so the note is meant to be helpful as some guests
have called to ask how to clean the glass cooktop. Im glad you bought it to our attention though and we will try to modify those so that they are more gentle! Kind Regards, Karen and Bill
My husband and I have been part time Mainer's for over 30 years and we hope to be full time soon. Maine has a way of giving you peace of mind. The people the scenery, the coastline. Maine is our happy place for real!
Why they chose this property
We chose this house because of the location- very close to everything, beaches, shopping, dining etc. We love all the windows that bring in lots of light and the very high ceilings that just give this home a nice open feel , yet still feels cozy and there is a beautiful hangout room to get super comfy and just relax! Love that it's surrounded by trees all around and a small pond out back. Lots of beautiful granite rocks every where make for a lovely background for the firepit area.
