Original Oceanfront Tybee Cottage 3 bdrm w/ HOT TUB Oceanfront Cottage Rentals Home Collection

"18th St Lower" is popularly known as "The Cottage" and is one of Tybee's most popular vacation rentals. This original Tybee beach cottage was the first vacation home in the Oceanfront Cottage Rentals vacation home collection and is the home that led to the brand "Oceanfront Cottage Rentals." This beach cottage is located just steps from the activities on the south end of Tybee and is situated directly on the Atlantic Ocean.
This lower level of The Cottage has three bedrooms and 1.5 Bathrooms.
The living area opens onto a large deck with a six-person hot tub. The hot tub is located under the upper-level balcony, which gives the hot tub added privacy. The large deck has a gas grill, tables, chairs, and lounge chairs, perfect for relaxing and enjoying the Tybee atmosphere. The kitchen has a dining table for 6. The full kitchen has a built-in microwave, acrylic stovetop, oven, full-size refrigerator, dishwasher, and double sink. A small gated area outside the front door is perfect for storing your beach gear or a bike.
BEDROOM 1 - A guest bedroom with two queen beds and a tv is off the kitchen area.
BEDROOM 2 - A queen bedroom with a half bath attached. A full bath is accessible to all from the hallway with a combination shower.
BEDROOM 3 - The third bedroom is off the living area with a full (double) bed and a mounted LED tv.

If you like to shop, dine out or go dancing, then the south end of Tybee is for you. This property is located in a quiet neighborhood just steps from all the activities.
There is a handicap access ramp just steps from this home to access the beach. Perfect for riding your bike onto the beach or for those with mobility issues who want to access the beach by wheelchair.

Great Property, Great Location

Wife and I spent the weekend here in February. The property is nice, you are on the first floor of a 2 story house. The hot tub was a great touch. The location is also amazing, you are at the end of the street and right next to beach access.

The location and hot tub were perfect. We had 6 adults and 2 kids so it was definitely cozy. Only thing I would change would be adding another shower. One was challenging for our group.

Ceiling over hot tub in poor condition. Sliding glass door very hard to open and close I love this quaint cottage. Will stay here again

Beachfront Basement

Right on the beach behind a large sand dune so no beach views. Arrived and immediately found minor damages to the property. Nothing that interfered with our stay. Overall location was great for beach access. Cute and cozy basement apt. Would definitely recommend for beachfront stay. Just note no beachview fromthe apt.apt.

I am sorry you were disappointed by the lack of a view at 18th St Lower and size of the property. We appreciate the feedback and will try to make this more clear in the description. Please come back again and consider staying in the "upper" location. The upper portion of this house has a large oceanfront sundeck attached to a covered porch allowing you to retreat to the shade while overlooking the beach.

Property had baby cockroaches all over the couch and living room. We had to move to another property as we couldn’t sleep there. While the rental agent was helpful in getting us another place to stay, they listed the property the next day as available instead of getting it treated for the roaches. It says it sleeps 10 bit does not- only sleeps 8 in beds. The other 2 sleep on the couch- it is not a sleeper sofa. But if you slept on the couch you were sleeping with the baby cockroaches. Pictures make rooms look a lot bigger than it really is

What is An ocean view property

You cannot see the ocean as the view is completely blocked by a large sandune and as i cant walk on the beach my time there was spent looking at a hill in which grass struggled to grow

Hi Emily. You are correct. There is not a view from the Lower part of this home. The description does not say there is a view of the ocean even though you are super close. There are not pictures of the view because it is blocked by the sand dunes. We would be more than happy to tell you about homes that do have an amazing view of the ocean next time. A mixed bag

I'll start with the positives. 1. The location is right on the beach. It's an easy 30yard walk from the front door over the dune bridge and onto the beach. 2. The furniture and beds are all very comfortable and the kitchen was fully stocked with all of the dishes you will need. 3. The back deck area is great. Lots of space for you and your group to hang out and the hot tub and grill were both excellent. 4. There is a water hose attached to the house that was great for rinsing off before heading back inside from the beach. 5.The house is so close to all of the bars, restaurants, and shops that you will barely need to drive during your stay. now let's get into the negatives. 1. This is the lower level of a 2 story house. This listing does not make this clear enough. There will be another group above you in the upstairs portion of the house. My group was surprised to find this out on arrival and this needs to be made clear in the title of this listing. 2. "Sleeps 10" is being very generous. The two double beds are going to be tight for two people and sleeping ten includes two people on the couch or one on the couch and an air mattress. Sleeps 8 seems more accurate. 3.The ceilings are very low in this house. A member of our group was 6'5 and his head was nearly touching the ceiling in every room of the house. 4.As is mentioned in another review, you cannot see the beach from the deck. You can only see the dune. Overall a fine rental but certainly not as expected.
