This home has offered families a wonderful experience for many years, and it's disappointing to see such an inappropriately inaccurate review from your stay. First and foremost, you were notified in advance over several instances prior to arrival that our office would be closed over Christmas, and to specifically notify us with your after hours guest phone line if any issues were to arise. You continued to try to contact our office directly instead of how you were instructed in order to reach out staff. Unfortunately, in doing so this meant that your email was not received until several days later, however we DID respond to you once it was received. You were also notified by phone and email that the home's exterior was still in the process of being painted due to recent rain delays, and that no vendors would be working at the time of your stay. This was to ensure a relaxing and uninterrupted visit for you and your family, and you had no issue with this when we spoke by phone. We are unsure of the nails you speak of as we didn't locate any instance of this during our inspections, and no guest reported of this prior to your stay. If you read our policies and procedures thoroughly then it's well known at how very strict our No Smoking policy is for both our guests and staff alike. We would not have allowed you to check in if there was a smoke smell on the interior. Especially if it was the smell of marijuana. Due to an incoming cold front the night prior to your check in, the property was a very brisk 55 degrees when we inspected the home on the day of your arrival, and the only explanation for what you experienced was the smell of the furnace heating up the home to a cozy temperature as your reservation was the first to use the home's heater in approximately a year. We were at the home for an hour doing some final prep for it to be comfortable and pleasant for your family to arrive, and we can assure you there was no smoke/marijuana smell present. Unfortunately, what we walked in to after your departure was highly disappointing. Not only did you leave trash littered all over the home as well as loose garbage in trash cans with no trash bags, but your reservation party broke many of our property rules such as taking interior furniture to the beach. This is unacceptable, and it's in our rental agreement's policies and procedures that you signed and agreed to. None of the check out procedures had been followed either. The house was found in such poor condition that our cleaners were not able to complete the clean in time which delayed the next guest's check in on the same day you checked out. If you were concerned about the home's layout then we would have encouraged you to ask us for any specific details you were curious of prior to arrival, however nothing in the description is misleading or inaccurate as you state. I apologize you found our services "appalling", but our team worked very diligently to ensure your satisfaction, and our company reviews speak differently from how you reviewed us. With how your reservation party left the home we wish you all the best elsewhere.

We are very excited about taking over management of the formerly named Gibson House, and our headquarters are very nearby this house! Continuing the favored tradition at this home is our top priority. We’re dedicated to continuing the fine experience guests had at Gibson House. The new owners have very big plans for the interior and the exterior of the home! Many of the deck chairs were broken prior to our management acquisition just before your arrival. A very large and extremely expensive selection of deck furniture has been on order for over a month, but, as I’m sure you know, the conditions that COVID has placed on the world have caused long delays in furniture orders as well as many other things.
