I felt blessed to have such a cool place to stay while visiting my daughter who lives right down the street in best neighborhood of all of Portland.The place is clean and comfortable ..oh and bed is extra comfortable! Special private backyard with natural landscape. Hope its vacant next time I visit. Diane was very responsive and welcoming.

Exceptional cottage, beautiful vaulted ceilings, separate large bedroom with amazing skylights and light airy drapes, hardwood floors and a bathroom with a heated tile floor. The kitchen was fully equipped with everything you could possibly need from coffee to spices and honey. Hosts obviously take great care of this space. Absolutely would stay again.

My husband and I stayed here, hosting our adult son and his 5&7 yo sons for frequent visits. This space is a perfect size for everyone to gather around the table for board games, to eat meals together without the hassle and expense of restaurants, to cuddle together while watching tv, and for the kids to play imaginary games under the table while the adults visit. Charley & Diane have been married 49 years and moved from Montana to Portland 36 years ago where they raised their 3 children. They enjoy welcoming guests from all over the world in the private cottage behind their home, overlooking the garden.

The Garden Cottage is a comfortable, clean, light-filled, refuge with a peaceful garden view..... a great place to hang out or come back to after a day of exploring the Portland area, or visiting family. It has everything you need....a home away from home.

What makes this property unique

This location is in a quiet, historic, established neighborhood, and has excellent access to the many amenities of Portland and its surroundings. It is a beautiful short walk to the historic Mt. Tabor Park and easy access to anywhere in the city or hikes in the Colombia Gorge. Only two blocks to a neighborhood coffee shop and restaurant and a few more to the neighborhood theater where you can see a movie for $4 and have a pizza & beer. Lots of restaurants and shops nearby along with city bus stops and MAX light rail access within easy walking distance.
