Our stay was wonderful! We enjoyed the local "wildlife"--Tina (neighbor cat)was a sweetheart. The host was very responsive and our visit exceeded all of our expectations.
Lovely place to come back to after hiking, we didn’t get a chance to use the fire pit but were appreciative of the wood we could use if we did! It was very clean and tidy, I enjoyed coming back and seeing the resident kitty prowling around. I loved how it was close to downtown Custer but not right in the middle of it! I would stay here again if I find myself wanting to take another trip to Black Hills.
While there is another camper next to you, you hardly notice anyone is there. The location is pretty and so quiet- and as with other reviews, the kitty is incredibly sweet and loving.
Really enjoyed the camper, loved having the grill and the fire pit! Kids fell in love with the sweet kitty. Everything was clean and well stocked. Truly a great stay!
We were here for a family reunion in Custer State Park. Most of the family was staying in tents and this property provided an inexpensive alternative to sleeping on the ground. We found it to be everything we needed.
Good location, clean and well maintained. It was nice to have a spot a little outside of town, very quiet at night. My youngest daughter especially enjoyed meeting the local cat.
This was exactly what we were hoping for in a trip. They had everything needed so it was like a home away from home. There were 5 of us with kids ages 3, 11 and 17. Plenty of space and beautiful scenery. Even had a little kitty working out with me in the morning. Super clean, shower was also a bathtub for the little one. No complaints!
Payton was super easy to work with. Everything with our stay went great. This location was very centrally located for us which made for a great launch point each day. Very close to Custer state park, Mount rushmore, Crazy Horse, Badlands, Wind Cave national park, and the Mammoth museum. Great place to come back to an unwind at night around the fire ring.
We had a lovely time in the cozy trailer. We wish we had had more time to enjoy the fire pit out back and the picnic setup in front. Everything was just perfect.
Great Experience -lots of great memories were made!
We loved our stay. It was such a fun experience for our young kids. Outdoor area was beautiful, fire pit was lovely (Payton even provided some complementary fire wood which was so helpful!), and was convenient location for area attractions.
We have 5 kids and this was just perfect. Made us want to buy a travel trailer, just like this one.
We plan to be back!
Very clean updated camper, nice set-up with firepit and chairs. Deer in the back meadow in the mornings, very friendly host kitty that visited occasionally. Quiet evenings except for traffic on gravel road nearby but not bad. Would stay again...
first time I have used such housing, everything went smooth, spent only 2 nights, very quiet ,no complaints at all, even there was the internet, but couldn't send a message to thank the owner of the place, to tell him, we were very pleased of our stay and we will come back
This place was a lot more comfortable than I thought it would be for my husband & I, our teenager, and very active child. Our teenager loved having his own room/privacy. It was the perfect place to stay for all the activities we did around the area. Custer is such a neat little town. We loved the peace and quiet on the property. We went for walks and a bike ride. Loved seeing the horses, dog, and cat. The sunset was beautiful during our stroll. We loved everything. The best part of staying at this camper was when we stayed at Mount Rushmore for the lighting ceremony at night, there were many, many cars leaving at the same time. However, it was easy for us as there was an exit for Custer and we were one of the very few cars making that turn while everyone else were in traffic for Rapid City. That was nice!
Peyton was extremely accommodating when we had to push our reservation back on short noitce. The location was perfect and beautiful. Everything in the camper was clean and organized as advertised. We enjoyed time around the pitful, utilized the grill, and played with the visitong cat who stopped by to say hello. Although there was another camper on the property with two different sets of guests we never actually crossed oathes with either of them. We alwaya felt like we had the property to ourselves We definitely recommend this camper and location!
My husband and I, both senior citizens, took two of our grandchildren to South Dakota for a week. They are cousins, not siblings, a 13 year old boy and 12 year old girl, so we had to have enough room so that we all had separate and private sleeping spaces. This was the perfect solution! It was clean, spacious, and equipped with everything we needed, including wonderful outdoor spaces. It’s only about 5 minutes to town and very convenient to all the wonderful sightseeing in the area! When we asked the grandchildren if they wished we had stayed in a hotel in town, they both gave a resounding “NO!”
This trailer worked nicely for a trip to Custer. The bedrooms are on opposite ends of the trailer, making for a bit of privacy. The trailer was nicely done inside, although be aware there’s no TV. We also learned, don’t run the A/C and then turn on the microwave.. you will blow a breaker. Easy enough to reset. Amenities were as described and shown in pics. We bought some paper plates as the plates and bowls provided are plastic and generally not safe to use in a microwave. Except for an occasional car passing by on the gravel road (property is on an unpaved road), it’s nice and quiet. We occasionally heard coyotes howling. The resident cat was certainly a bonus, and the bunnies were happy to share the mornings with me as I sat outside and had my morning tea.
Enjoyable stay.
My cousin and I stayed 3 nights and really enjoyed the location and the RV! It looked exactly like the pictures, big enough for us, clean and plenty of supplies. The location was very convenient to Custer and a short drive to everything else in the southern Black Hills. We also enjoyed the 3 horses and donkey which came for a visit each morning. We also enjoyed the very cute, friendly cat. The view of the stars each night was absolutely heavenly and just what two female professionals needed! You’re not walking distance to anything but it was a little piece of heaven for us! The property manager was also super attentive to our questions and the check in and out process was super easy. We’ll be back!
