About the host
Hosted by Linda
I have enjoyed my time at the pond for many years and find that I love seeing the delight on others' faces as they get to experience it as well.
This is the last piece of lakefront property which has passed down through my husband's family for several generations, since the 1800s. While he grew up, my husband and his family spent summers in the camp; and on retirement his parents custom-built the year-round home which is welcoming guests today.
I think of this quiet corner of the world as a little slice of heaven and hope you will feel the same!
Why they chose this property
This year-round home is nestled in the woods on a private pond, yet is close to everything you could desire. There is high-speed internet and an adjustable desk in the living room, making it convenient to work remotely. There is always something to do here or nearby, or just relax and unwind!
What makes this property unique
The peaceful location is so soothing. Personally, I can't imagine a better place to just unwind. There are several watercraft available during the spring, summer and fall. Cross country skiing across the pond once the ice is thick enough is fun, and many people enjoy ice fishing. There is a gas insert in the fireplace to enjoy on those cool evenings, and the views are amazing year-round!
You never know when you might see deer strolling through the property. Everyone has been loving the hummingbirds who are here from approximately early May to mid September.
This cottage seems secluded, but is close to everything!
There are some excellent restaurants within 5-15 minutes.
The cottage has high-speed Wi-Fi and an adjustable desk for your convenience. We had a remote worker who told me the internet was seamless and that she loved how relaxed she felt while working because she was able to enjoy the view.
We are close to several ski centers such as West Mountain Ski Center, Gore Mountain and hickory Ski Center. We are also close to Lake George, Saratoga Springs (think horse racing and performing arts center) and only about an hour from Albany International Airport.
There is a motocross track within 2 miles. Golden Goals is practically around the corner.
Weekends in February are Winter Carnival Time! Attend the Lake George Winter Carnival for Cookoffs, Contests, Car Races, Outhouse Races & More. A lot of fun!
Adirondack Balloon Festival in September is one of the largest in the country.
Queensbury and Glens Falls are only about 15-20 minutes away with shopping centers, mall, restaurants and grocery stores.
