About this property

Family sized chalet on the Lakeside of Leesville Lake - pets allowed

Your home away from home. A cozy 3-leveled chalet nestled away in Leesville Lake’s beautiful wilderness. Making it a nature lover’s dream. It was completely remodeled in 2023 giving it a modern feel while keeping its rustic charm. With a complete kitchen with crock pots, electric skillet, pots, pans, baking trays, blender, toaster, etc. it's easy to see why this house just feels like home.
This house features a total of 3 porches. The porches are perfect places to enjoy a nice cup of coffee or tea made with either the coffee pot, water kettle, or Keurig throughout the day. One of the porches is an all seasons enclosed porch with couches and a picnic table. This porch provides stunning views of the changing seasons and lets you enjoy the outdoors rain or shine with many family fun games and puzzles.
If games and puzzles aren’t your thing, we got you. Upstairs in one of the 4 bedrooms there is an extensive collection of books including, religious, romance, classic, fantasy, kids, political thrillers, and finance. Along with Ohio wildlife info books on the porch downstairs.
If you're not really a reader, then that's fine too. We’ve got a healthy selection of movies that can be played on any one of 5 flat screen TVs in any of the bedrooms and in the living room. All of which are equipped with their own DVD players for late night enjoyment or family movie nights.
Leave the boss at home and let nature show you her wild side. Disconnect and unplug from the fast paced noise in one of nature's last refuges. Unwind in this secluded area where cell service is scarce and reconnect with what really matters: family and friendships. As it comfortably sleeps 8 it makes it the perfect gathering spot for family and friends. Although there is no WiFi or service, you can still connect with each other and nature.
To keep comfortable all year, the house has a system of mini splits for nice cool A/C and heat. To add to the aesthetic, there is a wood burning fireplace in the living room. There are plenty of towels and extra bedding provided. There is a starter amount of shampoo and conditioner to use in either of the 2 full bathrooms. There is also a washer and dryer provided on the ground level (so bring your detergent!).
For your outdoor pleasure, there is a boat ramp right down the road for easy lake access (10hp limit). The lake is a perfect fishing lake for bass, muskie, and other sport fish. Inside the house on the ground level is a rack designed for your fishing poles. For you outdoor types, there is a moderate difficulty scenic hiking trail directly across the street leading to the boat ramp. For those without a boat, there is a marina where you can rent a boat.
In the area, there are a number of historical sites, festivals, parks, and shops. There are a number of activities on property such as, Ladder Ball, frisbee, fire pit, fire table, and a BBQ grill. There is also an outdoor picnic table to sit by the fire and outdoor meals.
We are dog friendly (for a small fee and must be kept on a leash). So bring your furry friend and relax in the beauty of nature.
As this is not a tamed area, there are a number of daily visitors in the area. Such as eagles, hummingbirds, deer, and owls. Please keep in mind that not only are the animals wild but the house sits on the hill in the woods and so the terrain does have the ability to harm self and property (for which the owners are not responsible for). Also, there is a limit of 3 vehicles and 1 boat trailer allowed on property.

Great Fishing,Beautiful Place

Lovely property, nice stay. We rented a pontoon and fished—the fishing was great! Everything was clean and tidy just as advertised, but the bedrooms could use some blinds or curtains. Minor, really.

Would recommend.

The stay was nice and we didnt have any complaints. We had everything we needed. Neighbor's were friendly. Lack of cell service sucks and we were told beforehand but man it doesnt really hit you until you experience it. View is great and is nice being right next to the water for those who like fishing. Even has a trail that goes straight down to the water but that hill is killer.

Very peaceful.

Beautiful cabin in a peaceful place. Definitley remote and a great place to disconnect. Only thing that could be improved would be window coverings in bedrooms. Also the requirement to wash linens was a big ask with a 15 hour drive home. Owners are nice and cabin was very nice.

Memorial Day Weekend Stay

The cabin was very nice, great location. When we arrived, the power was not working and with limited service was tough to reach the owner at some points. Limited toiletries, one roll of paper towel and small hotel type lotions and such in the bathrooms. It’s a good thing we brought most of what we needed for the weekend. Owners were responsive and helpful when issues arose. Don’t

Girls weekend

Lovely cabin, walking path located in front of the house. We were all in love with the Sun porch and spent the majority of the time there. The lake was very close and a boat launch was close. While there is smart tv, there is no WiFi provided and the service can be very poor.

Why they chose this property

This property was originally bought by our family in 1976. It served our family as a quiet weekend getaway for years until we fell on hard times. We recently started going back to this house and completely remodeled it for modern times. Hope you enjoy it as much as we do!

What makes this property unique

Beautiful all-season porch with plenty of outdoor seating by the fire pit.
