Thank you Dennis for the review. I try to always think of ways to make the place more welcoming and functional. I look forward to having you back anytime.
Great family trip - perfect accommodations for our family of 5 (3 kids ages 12, 9, and 7). We rented a pontoon boat on Leesville Lake and took advantage of the private beach which was clean and close to the cabin. Cabin was clean, nicely decorated, and beds were incredibly comfortable! Everything we needed was there!

Thanks for the nice review. I look forward to having you back again.
Sorry you had a hard time finding the place. I have put a map into my welcome message for new guests. I also put some photos in the welcome message to help find the place. It hasn’t been a problem for the vast majority of the guests. I also contacted all the map apps to include Knollwood Drive on their maps and I believe it’s in the works.
Although in a rustic setting, the property was completely modern & comfortable. The owner is very kind and responsive to communicate with. We would highly recommend this property.

Thank you for your feedback. I’m glad you enjoyed the house!
Had a fantastic weekend reminiscing about my childhood weekends spent at Leesville Lake. Wonderful lake house with everything you could want provided. Clean, spacious home was perfect. Loved the multiple decks with hanging chairs, large table and great fire pit area. Only bad thing was that we couldn’t stay for a few more days. Definitely recommend to anyone looking for peaceful retreat.
There were two of us couples with four children. Rented a pontoon for a day, it was during the week and there weren't many other people around, which we loved. House is walking distance from a nice little beach where the children had a great time.

Any interest in coming to the cabin this summer? For previous guests the third night is half price.
This is my fourth year staying here. Nothing compares to sitting in the hammock chair with a good book on a sunny morning, on the deck overlooking a beautiful forest. It is the perfect balance of modern class and cozy cabin. Thank you!
My late parents lived on this lake and my family decided to stay here after their memorial service. The cabin was perfect-- clean, well-stocked, peaceful. The kids loved lake swimming. We took long walks, made good meals and sat around the fire at night talking. It could not have been a more perfect weekend. Thank you!!!

So glad to hear you enjoyed yourselves and made some new memories at the lake.
Beautiful kitchen with all the supplies you could need and nice big table for family to gather around. Nice full baths. 2 decks w/ plenty of outside seating was so nice! Worth noting: no Internet, a bit difficult to find so follow the owner’s directions, driveway is a little steep, and lastly there is a strong musty odor. Odor trappers in each room & dehumidifiers don’t seem to be getting the job done.

I was just down at the cabin. Neither me or my family noticed any smell. I haven’t had any other complaints. I do have a dehumidifier do to the fact that we are at the lake. The air cleaner is due to my allergies. Glad you would stay again

Nicely decorated, comfy beds, beautiful and quiet location!
Spent a family weekend with my two adult sons and their girlfriends. The house is nicely decorated and had everything we needed, and then some! The kitchen is well equipped and the beds were very comfy! Steve was great to deal with and gave detailed instructions and descriptions of the property. The lake and private beach area are convenient and the water was perfect for kayaking. We were a bit surprised to not have cell service on our AT&T phones, but the Verizon network did pick up around the house. The lack of cell service actually made our stay more fun and relaxing, so we didn't mind at all! We will be visiting again soon and hopefully often!!

It's diamond in the rough.
We were glad the weekend we selected was cool, the window unit would not have been sufficient for cooling the house in warmer weather. We enjoyed the space and the new lower deck, however additional outdoor seating would have been nice. The beds were comfortable, the linens were plenty, the kitchen was well stocked. We couldn't find a broom and the rechargeable broom vac didn't work well.

Thank you for your review. There are actually 2 air conditioning units in the house. One is downstairs and the other is upstairs. When both units are set and work in unison the house is very comfortable even when it gets hot outside.
Since the deck was just built, I have been looking for the right outdoor furniture. For the short term, there are 3 hanging chairs, 2 zero gravity chairs and 5 foldable chairs in the meantime.
The rechargeable vac has been replaced with a more powerful upright vacuum, and there is a broom in the Laundry closet or in the closet under the steps. I will make sure it stays in the Laundry closet from now on.
This home is exactly where to go if you are looking to get away! The home is recently updated and beautiful. Everything you need is there, kitchen utensils to cozy beds, great new bathrooms, great deck with cozy swing chairs and beautiful views. It’s tricky to find at first but the directions in the description are perfect.
We had a great time, we enjoyed the lake by pontoon boat which we rented (2) 1/2 days at the Petersburg Marina. We floated and swam in the swim area , the lake is very clean and clear. We did not get a chance to hit the beach but it looked fantastic.
The weather was not too bad, just a little rain here and there so we did enjoy hanging inside at the large kitchen table and a DVD movie upstairs. Overall this is a great place to stay, I highly recommend!

Maureen, thank you so much for the wonderful review. I am constantly working to upgrade the house and appreciate your praise. I look forward to having you again.
When they say there is poor reception they weren’t kidding! That being said their suggested spots for the best reception where helpful. No WiFi. Very clean property and they even had little things that we had forgotten like a lighter for the fire pit. Neighbors seemed nice but where farther away so not much contact. No direct lake access which was misleading to us given the picture of the dock and lake. The public beach is only a mile walk down the road so it wasn’t to hard to find! Really a great place to disconnect and be in nature. Bring DVDs to watch in case of poor weather!

Thank you for your review. I don’t know if you noticed there are approx 28 DVD’s next to the DVD player, including 4 or 5 kid DVD’s.
The beach is 2/10th of a mile which takes 5 -7 minutes. Just go out front door and make a right. This is mentioned twice on the site. Sorry for any confusionn and I do appreciate your comments.
Came for a few days to celebrate my husband’s birthday. While the house is not completely secluded, you are surrounded by trees and it’s quiet and peaceful.
The house is spacious, with comfortable beds, quality linens and towels, and a well appointed kitchen. I like to cook and found everything I needed. Another bonus was quality glassware and ample matching dishes/silverware. No need to rough it or make due here! You will also find books, games and dvds for rainy days which we took advantage of. In addition to bedrooms there are a number of spaces in which to hang out. The large windows and modern decor add to the airy feeling of the house. We spent a lot of time on the lower deck- the hammock chairs were awesome! While we did not use them, I saw a canoe and fishing equipment as well.
We rented a pontoon boat for a day from the marina down the street and had fun on the lake- I would highly recommend doing this.
As we were checking out there was a crew beginning work on a fire pit, which will be a nice addition to the property.
This trip was just what we needed and Steven was a helpful and conscientious host. We will do this again in the future!

Modern Relaxing Getaway
We really enjoyed this location and property for our family's "women's weekend" in late July of 2018. It's more private compared to many lake community rentals. Used and loved the deck, hammock, hanging chairs, outdoor dining table, fire pit, and full kitchen as we are not grillers and cooked all our meals in the home. The beds were very comfortable and the air conditioning worked very well. We appreciated the attention from the owner leading up to our visit.
We accessed the road to the development's beach through the neighbor's yard which is a bit overgrown with no clear path. Access to the road from the property would be a nice enhancement.
We rented a pontoon boat for the day at the Petersburg Marina - fabulous!
Info for renters - Follow the paved road to the west end of Parkland Drive to access Knollwood Dr (short but steep driveway) for an easier, more level drive. Extra bath towels are in the living room cabinets. The development's dumpster is behind a large building on Parkland Dr. Though Verizon cell reception at the home was adequate on the second floor, there was no signal from coming in from the west from the highway to the lake - plan your phone navigation accordingly.

Thank you for your review. I am currently working on getting a carpenter to build some steps down at the street below the house. I have also brought down a TV and a DVD with about 10 movies.

Liked: Cleanliness, check-in, location
Expected more for the price
There are definite pros and cons to this property. The location is great - 10 minutes to one of the marinas where you can rent a boat for the day (call ahead of time to reserve it because they do book up). Also a short 5 min walk to the HOA's private "beach" which is small but nice for small kids. The kitchen and bathrooms have been renovated and the lower deck is great. Cleaning crew did a fabulous job - the house was spotless. The cons: Seems like the owner started renting this house out before it was done being renovated. The staircase is completely unfinished wood and the top step has a huge crack in it so I wouldn't advise to go up or down in bare feet. Also what the pictures don't show is that there isn't central air conditioning. The a/c is a combination of floor and window units - plus with the additional de-humidifiers and fans, there's a ton of machines making an incredible amount of noise. If you can't sleep with noise, I would not recommend this house. Also to watch a movie without turning the volume up to a point the neighbors can hear, you have to turn some of the units off and then it gets crazy hot upstairs. Be aware that the kitchen is on a different floor than the TV room so if you do a movie night, there's a lot of up and down the stairs. The two bedrooms upstairs have ceiling lights/fans with remotes only - we found that both remotes controlled the unit in one room only so we were unable to use the fan in the second bedroom which meant it was too hot to sleep in there and we ended up downstairs in the twin beds which don't really work for someone of adult height. Also in that same bedroom, the mattress doesn't fit properly in the boxspring so when 2 people get in the bed, it fell to one side - not comfortable at all and needs to be addressed. The firepit is unusable in my opinion - its on the sloped hill in front of the house surrounded by weeds and there was a bunch of trash on the hill. I messaged the owner with several questions a week or so prior to our arrival and he didn't respond until we were already there so that was disappointing. Would be helpful if the owner put a sign out at the end of the driveway with the address/house number because its confusing to find. Overall I expected more based on the price but the location is great and I think of lot of these issues could be fixed.

A new fire pit has been built on the side of the house. There is a picture of it on the profile. It was professionally built and is quite nice.
I have inspected the stairs myself and have no idea what you are referring to in regard to a crack. The steps are stained. I will look into putting some type of pergo type vinyl that looks like wood, sometime this summer.
I have put 6 pole reflectors on the driveway to make it easier to find the house. No one else has had an issue, as the driveway is on Knollwood and the address is also on the back of the house.
Just about everyone who has stayed at the house has commented on how comfortable the beds are. They are all the correct size and the master bed is a tempurpedic. The other beds have memory foam toppers and may not be exactly the same size of the bed, but were sold to fit each bed. Just about everyone I spoke with has been very happy with the beds.
The two bedrooms upstairs have a ceiling fan-light combination. There is a remote control on each nightstand to control the light /fan. The master bedroom fan /Light remote has been fixed - just a matter of replacing the battery. It works perfectly now. There is also a fan in the master bedroom, which can be used anywhere in the house. I suspect you had all the windows open, as I keep the house at approx. 70 degrees. For whatever its worth, down at the lake most people dont have central AC.
I was just at the house yesterday and didn't see any trash in the yard. If there is trash the cleaning crew disposes of it.
I take price in the houses appearance. Most reviews have been "kinder". I will take your comments into consideration, but some people just can't be pleased.
Beautiful property. Enjoyed outdoor fire pit. Nice large wood dining table perfect for meals, games.
Lake access nearby.
House interior beautiful, good layout. Very nice.
This was our third stay and we just love it! We appreciated the new wall mounted air conditioners in each room. We spend loads of time on the decks, rented a pontoon boat at the Northfork Marina, and kayaked from the development's beach.
Owner responded in timely manner and helped when needed.

About the host

Fell in love with Leesville Lake. It doesnt feel like you are in Ohio! - More of a Pennsylvania feel due to the terrain. The lake only allows 9.9 HP motors, so its much quieter than surrounding lakes. Great place for fishing or just hanging out on the lake. Known as one of Ohio's best Walleye lakes. I live in Cleveland and have made a project out of renovating the place to a high standard of quality.
Why they chose this property
Walk to Leesville Lake (house is not on lake - its a 7-10 minute walk), one of the best kept secrets in Ohio for a awesome lake. The water is great for swimming and considered one of the best fishing lakes in Ohio for Walleye. Once you get here it's serene, quiet and beautiful. Downside is that town is a 10-15 drive from town and the major attraction is the natural beauty of the area and the lake! Rent a pontoon boat at Peterson Marina - 10 Minutes away.
What makes this property unique
This is not your fathers cabin, it is contemporary in the interior design, and is modernized in every way. Emphasis on comfort! Tempurpedic bed in master bedroom and foam topper on the other beds. No internet ,Just Peace and Quiet! Although, there is a TV and a DVD. Wonderful deck on first floor - 384 SF, where you feel like you are in the trees. Awesome fire pit off first floor deck. New 9/2020 -Central Air Conditioning and Heating.
