Great place to stay in Soldotna and loved the river access!
My husband and I stayed here for a night and enjoyed making dinner and hanging out at the river. We used the fishing gear to fish for Pink Salmon.

We wished you could’ve stayed longer!!
Thank you for leaving everything in such great shape! I really appreciate you two! And it was very nice getting to meet you.
Marv and Janet
Janet and Marv were gracious hosts and the studio was cozy. We lucked out and saw a moose and her baby crossing the River the first night and a harbor seal swimming around the second night. Convenient location and great views.
Jan and Marv are excellent hosts. They had a cute sign waiting for us when we drove up and the experience got better from there. The fishing poles were a nice touch. The view is absolutely stunning. So nice to sit and have coffee and look at the Kenai river going by. Thanks so much for a great stay.

It was fun getting to meet you two! Thank you for your kind words ~ we really appreciate the way you left everything spotless!!
Hopefully you can return one day….. and stay longer!! Our Best ~. Marv and Janet
The Hosts were super! Friendly, helpful, warm. We just loved them and the place was awfully cozy and comfortable. We would have loved to stay longer. The BEST!
We enjoyed our stay. The property was as described, clean and check in was easy. Janet was in contact with us all the way through and they even had fishing poles for us to use. We would stay here again for sure.
Great communication. Jan was always available by phone and text willing to help. Bank fishing was good, not great; plenty of rods, nets, chairs, cleaning table, etc. long walk of 50 stairs down to the river. Two large chest freezers.
Studio appt was clean and adequate, well supplied. Bathroom was very small. .
Beautiful location on the banks of the lower Kenai River. Checkin was easy and Janet and Marv are excellent hosts. Property is a private full suite with kitchen within a larger building. Everything one would need for a Basecamp to explore the Kenai and Kasilof River basins.
the room was small but clean and exactly as pictured in the listing. Everything we needed was provided and the owners who are on the premises gave us our privacy but are very friendly
We loved staying here. We were able to catch our salmon limit every day right from their special spot. You don’t even need to get in the water to fish! The location was great and close to the grocery store and fishing store. I was able to message questions and get a quick response!

Sitting watching the Kenai river flow past, listening to the birds and the quiet of the morning in this very clean, comfortable place is good for the soul. Well kept, amazing views of the river, and everything you could need. I would stay here again.

Thank you Michael for your kind words. We’re thankful you were able to experience a little of what Kenai River Retreat is all about!!
Safe travels ~
Everything from making reservation to checking out was perfect. Accommodation was clean, comfortable and right on the river. Janet made everything so easy. Would definitely recommend!
We loved this place. The location was awesome. Close to town but seemed to be secluded. Good spots for fishing but unfortunately, no fish for us. In-between runs. Very nice place and amenities. Great communication with owner. We want to come back for sure.
The location is perfect for getting around the area, yet it’s still quiet. The bed is super comfy and the views are beautiful! The owners were always quick to respond to any questions and overall we enjoyed our stay.
I wish we were able to stay more then one night. The lodging has all the amenities you would need. The rooms were very clean and organized. We sat by the river on the property and watched the moose drink from the river on the opposite bank. It was perfection.

Wonderful Retreat!
My husband and I stayed here for 4 nights while in Alaska to do some Salmon fishing.
We were so happy with our choice to stay here from the start. Janet could not have been more welcoming, helpful and delightful. When she found out we were going on a fishing charter and the weather was going to be bad, she hunted down rain gear and warmer clothes for us immediately. We were so happy to have such a wonderful host. And boy was I glad for the warmer clothes to borrow!
The location itself is gorgeous. You can see the Kenai River from inside the studio and the view is great. The kitchen has everything you need. My husband and I were able to enjoy our first trout ever that I grilled on the propane grill we had right outside our door. The studio was warm and comfortable. Perfect for one or a couple.
We loved our time at the Kenai River Retreat. We would stay here again in a heartbeat. If you’re visiting Soldotna, don’t hestitate to stay here, you’ll really enjoy it.
