About this property
NEW!! Annas Bay Beach House on Hood Canal, WIFI, AC
Welcome to Annas Bay Beach House on Hood Canal!
This clean, comfortable, beachfront property offers expansive views of Annas Bay, the Olympic Mountains, and the Great Hood Canal!
Located on the "Great Bend", this home is just 1.5 hours from Seattle and 2.5 hours from Portland. The beach home is a 960 square foot home with a private deck that overlooks stunning views of the Olympic Mountains and Annas Bay. Grill fresh seafood on our private BBQ grill and enjoy the view while relaxing outdoors. For the cooler months, the bedrooms have baseboard heaters, along with one in the living room. In the summer, guests enjoy the split-air ductless system in the living room, which does both heat and air-conditioning.
Resting on the shores of Hood Canal and surrounded by the snow covered Olympic Mountains, the home is in a prime location. Located in the town of Union, we are just 2 miles from Alderbrook Resort and Spa, where you can find resort amenities such as hiking trails, lawn games, spa, golf, kayak, and stand-up paddle rentals. Alderbrook also offers up a great bar, live music, and dining.
The Annas Bay Beach House is just a 6 minute walk away from treats and specialty gifts at The Union Country Store (open May to September). Also nearby is the Hood Canal Marina, which is a popular year-round gathering space. And just a short walk away is the 2 Margaritas Family Mexican Restaurant and the Union Country Store. For groceries and other items, Belfair Safeway and Hoodsport IGA are about a 20 min drive. There are also some locations (about 20 to 30 mintues away) in Shelton, such as Walmart and Fred Meyer, plus another Safeway.
The bay is great for kayaking, boating and numerous other water activities. The scenery is awe-inspiring and ever-changing. Our guests delight in nature as seals, bald eagles, great blue heron, belted kingfisher and many other migratory birds and ducks abound. The abundant wildlife and phenomenal sunsets provide ample opportunity for captivating photography. Be sure to check out the area's animals with activities such as game walks and birdwatching.
If you just want to enjoy nature and the beauty of the Olympic Peninsula without being deep in the woods, we invite you to be our guests, enjoy the comfortable accommodations and discover all that Hood Canal has to offer. Located in Union, this home is near the city center and is on the beach. While the natural beauty of Olympic National Forest and Potlatch State Park can be enjoyed by anyone, those looking for an activity can check out Big Creek Trailhead.
"Annas Bay is a wide, shallow estuary at the mouth of the Skokomish River right at the big bend at the south end of Hood Canal. The bay, which is best paddled at high tide, offers protected water (with the exception of a north to northwest wind) and excellent views of the Olympic Mountains. The land at the margin of the bay is good habitat for various shorebirds, but landing is prohibited as it is owned by the Skokomish Nation. Paddle to Potlach State Park and either retrace your route to Union or cut across the bay if the seas are calm." -BIVY

About the host
Hosted by Kelli Blair

The Annas Bay Beach House bulk head (concrete foundation) was built in 1957 and the home was soon built in 1958. The lumber to build the cabin was all hand-logged and milled on a sawmill located on nearby land owned by the Hunter family. The property has been in the family for over 100 years, and the cabin was built by hand by the extended family as a place to gather and celebrate.
We are sharing our historic family cabin with you as a place to enjoy the Olympic Mountain and Hood Canal views. Watch eagles and blue herons feast on the bounty of the shores. Watch seals frolic and occasionally get a glimpse of Puget Sound orcas. Harvest a few oysters fresh to roast on the grill (limited to what you eat on site).
Currently, the tidelands located off the shore of Annas Bay Beach House are used as commercial oyster harvesting lands.
