About this property
The Farmhouse - Clean, comfortable, and affordable!
The Farmhouse was originally located on a Fairbanks’ homestead. This home is comfortable, charming, and just a bit quirky. It features subtle Alaskan decor, with billowy down comforters and pillows on each bed. Right off the Trainor Gate entrance to Ft. Wainwright and just a few blocks away from the shopping center, the Farmhouse is the perfect space for visiting family or as a landing pad for those wanting to explore Fairbanks.
The space Lots of bedrooms (not to mention three full bathrooms!) make this house a great choice for large groups. The Farmhouse grew over time, so the scale of the kitchen and dining area does not match the size of the house, but that’s perfect for travelers who have places to go and things to see! It has three levels; the living room, kitchen/dining, a bathroom and bedroom are on the main level. The bedroom on the main level functions as an office furnished with a desk and couch, but the couch can be folded down into a full/queen bed if you request it. Two bedrooms and one bath are upstairs, with three bedrooms, a bathroom, and a laundry in the basement. Enjoy the spacious yard during the summer and fall, with a bbq grill, outdoor seating, and a fire pit.
Guest access Guests will have the entire house, as well as fenced-in yard all to themselves. The garage is not available for guest use and will be locked. There is space for about 4 vehicles in the driveway.
Other things to note A non-toxic home with healthy air is important to us. We have house plants and an air purifier to help with this. We also have a diffuser with essential oils. Towels and bedding are washed with fragrance-free detergent and vinegar for a softener; no dryer sheets are used, only wool cotton dryer balls. Oxi-clean is used for whitening.
We know some people have sensitivities. Some things to note about our house are these: Sheets are 100% cotton. All of the beds have down comforters and down pillows. There is no carpet in our home, except on the stairs. Bleach products will be used in bathrooms, as a necessity. Natural non-toxic products are used everywhere else.
If you have allergy concerns, please message us with any questions or special requests.
Also, please note that there is a train track across the street. A coal train passes a few times a day carrying coal to Ft. Wainwright. It is not obnoxious, and does not run on the weekend, but still worth noting.
Our prices include all fees. No hidden fees.

Our trip was amazing and a big part of that is because we stayed at The Farmhouse. It was very welcoming and had a great location for our schedule. The kitchen was supplied with everything you could need to cook. The beds were very comfortable with delightful bedding. The fireplace was extremely enjoyable, and we had it on almost every night. Our host always answered if needed, and very accommodating. The Coffee Bar was our absolute favorite and on our last night there we were actually able to see the Northern Lights from the front patio!!!
This house was everything we were looking for on our Christmas Holiday! Lots of space for our family, plenty of amenities, close to shopping and grocery stores. The location was perfect, and easy to drive into and out of, even after 6" off snow!! Kate even decorated it for Christmas! So CUTE!! We would HIGHLY recommend this location!!
Great place for our group of 7. The farmhouse had everything we needed. Great hospitality from our host. Enjoyed our 2 night stay for the first part of a 2 week road trip through Alaska!
We had a wonderful time at this property. We were in town for a family event and the house was large enough to accommodate everyone. Kate, our host, was top notch. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen was fully stocked. We could not have been happier.
Property is large. We had 8 adults. Layout was very suitable with there bathrooms and six bedrooms. Very clean. Host was very good to work with. Highly recommend this property.
We really enjoyed our stay. The house is clean, beds are comfy, and there are all the amenities you could ever wish for. We highly recommend this property!!
Kate was Great host. House is exactly like the posting. Wel equipped, convenient location, comfortable beds, kitchen have everything you need. Must recommend and definitely come again next time.
The nine-friend group love the farmhouse- we cooked out and enjoyed outside. Good Location for us and fun bar close by with music. Probably stayed to late not realizing how late it was because of lightness.
We had a wonderful time at the house. Great having 6 bedrooms and 3 full baths. It was just so comfortable and homey. Stocked with everything. It was perfect for our family
The house is great. Many rooms so everyone can have their own space, but a large enough living room to all be together. The location is perfect and a quick drive to downtown and food. Everything in the house was easy to use and find. Would definitely stay here again.

I appreciate you, Tina, and your generous review. Take care! I hope to host you again soon.
The owners of this property were exceptionally good as hosts. From the very beginning of our stay ( and even prior to our arrival) I was very impressed and appreciative of the prompt responses… whenever I had a concern or inquiry. Two things that are very important to me when I book a property are cleanliness and comfortable beds and both met our expectations. We especially appreciated how clean everything was, the very well stocked kitchen, and all the extra supplies and amenities. I would highly recommend this property to anyone who is looking for a stay in Fairbanks.
The house was perfect for our group. Very clean and well appointed. The host was amazing. Already booked two return stays, you will not be disappointed.

About the host
Hosted by Kate Robinson
Fairbanks has been my home since 2005. I have raised five Alaskan kids and I am passionate about living here! I get a special thrill out of welcoming guests who come to see God's amazing display of lights in the Aurora Borealis.
Why they chose this property
We purchased this house after our family's home suffered a fire and needed extensive repair. The comforting calm we experienced while we lived in the Farmhouse led me to believe we could make it a "home away from home" for travelers.
What makes this property unique
The Farmhouse is budget-friendly option for guests who require cleanliness and spotless fragrance-free bedding, but don't need luxury or fancy add-ons.
