Casa Manolita is a newly renovated, lusciously furnished apartment situated in one of Barcelona's best neighborhoods. Less than half a mile away from Plaça Catalunya and the trendy Born district, you’ll be close to all the important sites, restaurants and shopping districts while being located on an elegant residential street that feels "away from it all.” If you are a creative soul searching for a Spanish oasis of beauty that transports you back in time, Casa Manolita promises to delight you!
We have high speed WiFi throughout the apartment as well as a 42" Smart TV that can be unplugged and moved around. We also have excellent air conditioners in the living room and each of the bedrooms, as well as a large LG washing machine and dryer.
While this is our newest home, we will not be here if you are, so our interaction with you will be via online communication and phones as necessary. You will be checked-in by our wonderful property manager Lee who is fluent in English and Spanish.
Casa Manolita is situated in the "Quadrat d'Or" or Golden Square of the Eixample district with its gems of ornate Modernista architecture. Stepping outside the building you will view across the street one of the several magnificent buildings on the block that were built in the late 19th and early 20th century in the Modernista style that was made famous by architects like Domenech i Montaner, Puig i Cadalfach, and Gaudi.
Casa Manolita is a couple blocks from the Urquinaona Metro station and less than half a mile away in various directions from Plaça Catalyuna, Passeig de Grácia, the Arc de Triomphe, and the Born district of the Old City. Truly you can't be better situated in Barcelona than this!
It is on a block that has a grocery store, pharmacy, shops, art galleries, cafes and restaurants.
Please note: The location that is shown on Airbnb's map is one block off. We are on Ausias Marc 23, situated between Bruc and Girona.
You will have the entire use of the apartment to yourself. There is an elevator and stairs. We are on the "third floor" which in Spanish architecture is really the fifth floor.
After being in the same family for more than 70 years, Casa Manolita (named after the woman who lived here) has been lovingly restored to maintain its rustic, century-old mosaic floor tiles and thick wooden doors and shutters, while also being renovated to create a brand new cook's kitchen, two bathrooms, a laundry room and air conditioning. Fast WiFi is accessible throughout the apartment thanks to extenders that are plugged directly into ethernet ports. Casa Manolita is decorated with rich hues, original European artwork and antiques, unique lighting, and comfortable furniture that combines to create an immersive Spanish experience of "stepping back in time" when life was simply more lush and beautiful.
In addition to two bedrooms fitted with luxury mattresses and bedding; two full bathrooms with showers; a laundry room; living room; and eat-in cook's kitchen with a wine refrigerator; there is also a long, light filled sun terrace that holds a dining room table, a couch and a desk. The view from the terrace is of the rear "manzana" or interior block patio that is typical of the Eixample neighborhood, and it affords an expansive and interesting Western view while helping maintain peace and quiet inside.
