Celebrating a big birthday in style

Amazing apartment, superb hosts, perfect location. Had the most wonderful time celebrating a big birthday in Barcelona. From collecting us from the airport, providing a lovely introductory tour, tips on where to visit/buy things, Raul made us feel so welcome which made the visit even more special. Highly recommend! We’re definitely coming back in the future.

Making memories

The hosts were amazing and so thoughtful. We will be definitely coming back to stay at their apartment. From first contact with the hosts we felt welcome and reassured. Host pick us up at the airport and had car seat for our 3 year old. The care was second to none. They gave us a little tour before we got to the apartment and to our surprise there was a gift for little one in her bedroom. Our little one opened it and It was a teddy bear, such a thoughtful gift and it made her stay more comfortable, relaxed and memorable. The host gave us a a whistle stop tour of how to get from A to B, places to eat and visit. All written on a maps for us. There was a welcome fruit basket with a bottle of red wine on the table, teas, water and other items in the fridge/cupboard. We definitely felt home from home and our making plans for next visit.

Highly recommend

The apartment was everything and more. Raul, the host, could not do enough for us. From picking us up at the airport giving us a guided tour of Barcelona and on arrival at the apartment was a basket of fruit, bottle of wine, beer, and all the groceries we needed for several days. The apartment is situated in an area mostly occupied by local people. Thus is a big plus as cafe, bars etc are local prices. The very big plus for us was the roof terrace. After a day's sightseeing, its was lovely and relaxing to sit on the terrace with a beer or glass of wine. Special thanks to Raul for coming to our rescue when we locked ourselves out

Lovely apartment in great location

We had a great week in this lovely apartment. Raul is an amazing host. He collected us from the airport and gave us a little tour of the city to help us get our bearings. He showed us around the apartment and gave us lots of useful information and was on hand if we needed anything through our stay. The apartment was very clean and is very well equipped. I did quite a bit of cooking and we had everything we needed to cook and wash clothes. The apartment is comfortable with a comfy big bed and plenty of storage. The air con works well and we certainly needed it in the heat. We loved the roof terrace which is very spacious and quiet. The apartment is very quiet and we didn't hear any road noise or noise from the building. The wifi is fast and I was able to work and make video calls easily. The location is good, very close to transport links so getting around the city is quick and easy. There is a Mercadona supermarket around the corner, but next to the Mercadona is a really nice food shop that sells lovely fresh produce and vegetarian products. We had a really nice time and I would highly recommend this apartment. The photos don't do the apartment justice and Raul is really nice chap who made our stay extra nice!

The best place to stay

Raúl is a wonderful, warm person who cared for us very sincerely. We were treated with tremendous hospitality from the start to the finish of our stay. The apartment is located in an excellent part of town; there are bars, cafés, and tapas on every corner. The apartment has one smaller room and one double room, plus kitchen, bathroom, living room/dining room, and then a marvelous terrace where we drank gazpacho and wine. It was the perfect place to stay. We were given helpful advice and we were made to feel very at home. I hope to return to Barcelona (soon!) and I will seek to stay here again. Muchísimas gracias por todo.

Excellent hosts and Great Apartment!!!

Raul and Carmen are the best hosts and made us feel like long time friends who came into town for a visit. We received a tour of the city, pick up at train and a wonderful gift when we arrived at the apartment! We were also given detailed maps and Raul sat with us to go over main attractions and transportation of the city. The apartment is set up very well and comfortable. The location is perfectly situated in a fairly residential neighborhood with a bakery across the street, grocery around the corner and an easy walk to the hot spots. Bus and Metro are very close! It’s on the 5th floor with terrace access, washer and No Steeet Noise!!! We love it and would gladly stay there again!!!

A perfect base for exploring Barcelona .

We spent a week in this lovely apartment in Barcelona and had a wonderful time. Raul and Carmen are wonderful hosts, they were so welcoming and Raul collected us from the airport on our arrival and took us back there when we left. He gave us tour of Barcelona in his car and also gave us a lift to Parc Guell. He gave us maps and information on restaurants, shops, the Metro and the buses all of which was very useful. The flat is beautifully central and we found it very clean and nicely furnished. We were surprised and delighted to find a basket of fruit, a bottle of wine, milk, tea, coffee and other things in the flat on our arrival. The terrace was lovely and we looked forward to breakfast on it every morning. Raul and Carmen are fantastic hosts and they made our stay in Barcelona very special.

Fabulous apartment, great location, amazing hosts

I don't know what to add to all the 5 star reviews for this apartment, except they are all true! Raul and Carmen are the most amazing hosts, from the collection and return to the airport, the tour, the maps and advice, the huge fruit basket with wine, the stocked fridge, the incredibly comfortable bed, lovely shower and relaxing roof garden. Oh, and we thoroughly enjoyed Barcelona too!!

Amazing stay in this beautiful city

We had a wonderful stay in Barcelona thanks to Raul and Carmen who made us so welcome. Excellent communication prior to our trip made it all the more easier. Raul collected us from the port after our cruise and took us to the airport on our departure. We have never experienced such great service. The apartment was lovely with a welcome pack of essentials and a huge basket of fruit/wine awaiting us. The apartment is well equipped and the rooftop garden was lovely. Raul took us on a mini tour of the city and was so informative as to where to eat, places of interest etc. I can highly recommend this apartment and would happily stay again. Raul went above and beyond what we expected from an owner and for that we thank him. We hope to see you again soon.

Lovely little apartment with excellent host!

Our first trip to Barcelona was made wonderful by staying at this apartment. Raul, the owner seems like such a genuinely nice and caring person and went out of his way to make our holiday a lovely experience from start to finish. Helping us to make our way round Barcelona, which was an enormous help being our first time here. He even kindly picked us up from the airport and dropped us back off when it was sadly time to go home. Nothing seemed like it was to much trouble. Everything you need seems to have been thought of in the apartment and the little touches really make it nice.Thank you so much for making my mums 60th birthday trip an amazing one. When we return to Barcelona we will definitely be staying here. :) (that is if isn't fully booked!) Love Emma & Jackie

Lovely apartment and fantastic hosts!

We recommend you book this apartment! Raul was a fantastic host, collecting our family from the airport and giving us a city tour then giving invaluable advice about local restaurants and public transport to the tourist sights. We also appreciated the drinks and fruit which had been left for us. The apartment is clean, comfortable and well-equipped and the air conditioning and terrace were great to have in August. We liked the location which was in a local area but easily accessible for the tourist sites - about 15 minutes walk to Plaza d'Espana and about 8 minutes to the nearest metro station or bus stop. There is a bakery opposite and a supermarket, tabac and restaurants very close by. Thank you Raul and Carmen!

Grand Stay in Barcelona

Our host, Raul, couldn’t have been better. After a long flight from Chicago, he greeted us at the airport and took us directly to our VRBO. We got all settled just before the country-wide blackout, but this worked to our advantage. Got a sandwich from a local shop, had lunch on the rooftop with the fruit and wine Raul provided. We then slept to get over our jet-lag and by morning the power was back. Our stay was perfect and the location offered plenty of local restaurants recommended by Raul and was easy to get around to all the sightseeing spots. Perfect for an extended stay in Barcelona.

Great location and excellent hosts

It was wonderful to be in a location with so much available by walking. Raul gave us a map of the area with recommended restaurants which we enjoyed immensely. He was extremely helpful. He even picked us up at the airport. He was also very good with communication before we arrived. When we had questions, he did his best to answer in a timely manner. The apartment is as pictured. We couldn’t believe how quiet it was at night. We felt at home. I highly recommend!

The perfect host

The flat is perfectly situated to visit the city and great for a stay with little kids because there's a parc with three different playground nearby. The flat itself is very nice and equipped with everything you could possible need: nespresso coffee, juice, milk, a fruit basket and wine as a welcoming gift, umbrellas, books, toys for children. The roof terrace ist beautiful and a perfect place to have breakfast. The host was unbelievably nice and helpful: Not only did he help us find a hotel, when we had to arrive a day earlier than planned, he also picked us up at the metro, helped us to carry the luggage, organized a buggy for our child and bought him a teddy bear as welcoming gift. He also explained how to get around the city, recommend places to see und restaurants to visit and answered all our questions. Overall the perfect host and perfect place to stay as a small family.

Toujours un excellent choix à travers les années

Nous avons été très bien accueillis, pour la seconde fois , par Raul venu nous chercher à la gare.Son appartement , pourvu de tous les conforts, est parfaitement propre.Raul et Carmen offrent dans la cuisine café ,biscottes ,eau ,fruits et vin et plein de produits de base afin que les touristes aient tout sous la main à leur arrivée : cela est très appréciable .L’appartement est proche ,à pieds en bus ou en utilisant les petits taxis peu chers à Barcelone , de tous les centres de visite.Nous remercions donc Raul et Carmen pour leur accueil parfait et d’une grande gentillesse.et espérons ( si nous trouvons de la place libre !) revenir chez eux à Barcelone. J’ajoute que les pièces donnent sur une très grande cour intérieure calme et sans voitures.N’hésitez pas c’est la bonne adresse…

Wonderful stay in Barcelona!

My husband and I spent 5 night's at Raul and Carmen's apartment. It is very clean, well equipped and located within a 20-40 minute walk of all major attractions - for those who don't want to walk, the public transportation is close by, inexpensive and very efficient.The owners are extremely kind and helpful and go above and beyond to ensure their guests are well taken care of. Wonderful “Home away from Home!”

We wish we could leave more than five stars! We had a wonderful 5 day stay at this quiet, clean, sunny apartment that had everything we needed (and more). Raul went above & beyond with airport pickup, a tour, a fruit basket, wine and food in the fridge. He showed us points of interest on the map and was quick to respond anytime we had a question about the area. We enjoyed breakfast on the rooftop terrace surrounded by Carmen’s beautiful plants & flowers. The location was ideal - close to many sights and in a safe area. Raul and Carmen, we cannot thank you enough for your kindness, hospitality and generosity. We sure hope to go back! Gracias!

Family first to Spain

This was our first trip overseas with our two adult children. We chose this place bc of the reviews on VRBO. Every wonderful review was deserved and truthful. Raul was beyond kind and helpful to people who do not speak the language and needed some guidance. The apartment was perfect for our family and our needs and the location was amazing. Just as promised

As all of the previous reviews have mentioned, Raul went over and beyond as the host of this clean and well located property. We could walk most anywhere in the city we wanted to go. Montjuic is easily walkable within 25 min for example. The roof top terrace is a lovely perk though we used it less due to the time of year we were there. We would definitely stay here again, we had a fabulous time!

My wife is from Galicia, in the north-west of Spain and she works as an accountant for a computer company.
We have two children. We live in the same building where the apartment is, and I managing my own apartment.
I like swimming and listening to music.
We love going to the beach and traveling.

It takes only 15 minutes to the airport by taxi or airport bus, and 5 minutes to Sants station where you can take the High-Speed Train (AVE) and go to Madrid in two and a half hours.
