This lakeside retreat offers picturesque views of Lake James with a spacious patio and yard, boat dock, and gas grill-perfect for a getaway with friends or family! With an inverted floorplan to maximize easy lake living, enter Dock Holiday on the main floor and step into an updated living with a reclining love seat and the perfect napping couch, a bedroom with king size bed and en suite bathroom (walk-in shower only), and a bedroom with twin bunk bed and trundle. On the lower level, your eyes are immediately drawn to the spacious yard and path down to the private dock. The lower level has a second living space with a cozy sectional couch, a kitchen with an eat-in dining table, and a primary bedroom with an en suite bathroom (walk-in shower only). A large patio area provides outdoor dining for 6, in addition to a wood pellet grill and cocktail table, before walking down to the private deck and boat dock to enjoy the lake.
Located just 1 hour from Asheville in Morganton, this cozy lakefront home is the perfect place to get away and enjoy everything the Lake James area has to offer. Spend your days exploring nearby hiking trails like the Fonta Flora Loop in Lake James State Park or High Shoal Falls in South Mountains State Park before grabbing a refreshing craft beer at Fonta Flora's open-air brewery at Whippoorwill Farm approximately 15 minutes away. Craving a burger on your back to your lakefront home away from home? Bones Jones Burgers and Butchery is less than 2 minutes away from Dock Holiday! Take a short 25-minute drive to reach downtown Marion where you can spend your afternoon exploring the new 310 District, an indoor shopping space that's home to Toonez Chop House, Chances of Sprinkles Bakery, and several retail shops.
For dinner, head to J. Hartman's for fresh seafood and a cocktail, or McDowell Local for a handcrafted dish paired with the NC staple, Cheerwine. For view chasers, this home is about an hour's drive from the ?gorge?-ous Linville Gorge Wilderness area and the iconic Blue Ridge Parkway, which offers plenty of overlooks and hiking opportunities to choose from. Don't forget that no trip to the mountains of Western North Carolina is complete without experiencing the Land of Sky, Asheville. While there, be sure to check out the hip and artsy West Asheville district, North Carolina Arboretum, and iconic Biltmore Estate. Asheville is also home to an impressive number of award-winning restaurants and breweries that you can sample in between all your activities. You're also sure to find a souvenir to remind you of your time by the lake in the mountains at one of the unique boutiques or novelty shops!
Please note: This home is NOT pet-friendly. There are 3 exterior security cameras (one over the driveway, one over the yard, and one over the patio). This home offers a private dock with an available boat slip on Lake James. If interested in renting a boat during your stay, please contact Lake James Neighborhood Store or Noah's Landing.
