About this property
Fully restored 1700's Carriage Home near Newfound Lake and Ragged Mtn Ski Resort
This 1700's Carriage Home was fully restored by my grandparents in 2010, it took them two years to complete. It has all modern amenities along with the original layout, original floors, and original doors. The home has a peaceful brook running behind it and a gorgeous river in front. Located in a quiet area and only minutes from Newfound Lake and Ragged Mountain Ski Resort. It has three bedrooms, three full bathrooms, two comfortable living rooms, a dining room, full kitchen, walk in pantry, large mudroom, and the most amazing porch that can be enjoyed all year. There is also a three season bedroom that is separate from the rest of the home and attached to the porch that gives you that cabin escape feel.

This is the second VRBO that I have rented from this family, and I was yet again impressed with EVERYTHING. The accommodations, location and kindness I encountered this week while renting this home was amazing. I want to sincerely thank Angela for sharing her home with my family and friends.

You are all to sweet! I’m glad you enjoyed yourselves!
We stayed here with our family, including young children and infant, for 5 nights. It was very comfortable and we really liked how spacious the home was. There was plenty of space for everyone to spread out and relax. Wonderful home and beautifully renovated!
Beautiful home. Very clean with a well stocked kitchen. The river and stream are peaceful to listen to on the porch at night with a beverage. The house is in a quiet area, but very close to stores and only a short ride to Weirs Beach and other area attractions. The whole family enjoyed their stay. Angela was very prompt in response to any and all questions before and during our stay. Highly recommend staying here if you have the chance.
We went to Laconia bike week and chose this house to stay. We were all so impressed by this beautiful home. It has such charming character that you can’t find in new homes! A peaceful brook running behind the home lulls you to sleep at night! We were all sad to leave today!

We are so glad you enjoyed your time and that you were all able to relax!
My oldest son purchased a small home in Alexandria this past summer and the family (myself, wife, 2 adult children and my mother) wanted to visit with him ahead of the Christmas holiday, as well as ski Ragged Mountain.
Angela’s home provided the perfect stay - 15 minutes from my son’s house and 10 minutes from Ragged and downtown Bristol.
The home is loaded with old-school character (over 200 years old), yet tastefully modernized and extremely comfortable. Oh, the stories and history that house has experienced… Remarkable to consider and happy that we had the opportunity to add to it during our short stay.

We are so very glad that you had a great time! Time together with family is priceless!
Merry Christmas!
We visited for a NYE weekend with plans to ski and hike. There were 7 of us and the house fit us perfectly. Kitchen is very roomy with a scullery kitchen. We did lots of cooking and it was very well stocked. 2 TVs in 2 sitting rooms which were quite comfortable. The house was very clean and despite its age, was updated and comfortable. Quite charming. The only issue we had was one of the bed comforters was visibly soiled, probably from the prior guest. Location is great. Ragged was 10 minutes and an easy drive. We hiked in Bristol near Newfound Lake and ate lunch at an incredible Mexican restaurant in Bristol. We plan on returning and would highly recommend this house.

About the host
Hosted by Angela Davis
We are the Davis Family! Both me and my husband grew up in NH. My husband joined the Army and that lead us to living in many different areas around the United States. When my husband got out of the Army we came back to NH and bought this home from my grandparents. My grandparents loved to find the old homes that needed extra special love and care. They fully renovated the entire home! We fell in love with the house and knew we wanted to raise our kids in NH. We enjoyed continuing my grandparent's work and making sure the house was comfortable and beautiful.
Why they chose this property
This home has been in my family for over 15 years. Before my grandparents purchased this home it was in very bad shape. The house didn't have running water, septic system, electricity, or insulation. It took my grandparents 2 years to restore the home. We lived and continued the renovation for 10 years. A 1700 home needs a lot of love and work! When the kids went off to college we decided to travel and live in a part of the United States that we have never been and fell in love with. We truly love our NH home and can't imagine not sharing it with others.
What makes this property unique
We fell in love with many aspects of this home! I love the front porch! You can sit on that porch all year round and enjoy the quiet of the country. Having two living rooms became very important when living with two teenagers. Three Full bathrooms are a huge plus and gave each of us plenty of room. Make sure you take a walk and enjoy the river and the nature around you!
