About the host
Hosted by Deb Mansour
I am a scientist by training, a mom and grandma by love and an adventurer by nature. I enjoy spending my spare time in the woods, soaking up all of the peace and tranquility it has to offer as well as getting the occasional glimpse of wildlife in action. I am especially fond of waterfall chasing, spending time on the lake and taking pictures of it all!
I recently finished renovating the basement of the Bedford into a finished 2 bedroom, 1 bath 1200 sq ft living space with a full kitchen and living room for me and my daughter, who is in 8th grade this year and splits her living space and time between me and her father, to live in on site. In March 2026, we adopted a completely indoor, quiet, affectionate black cat named Pepper.
If you wanted to meet me, just let me know - and I would be happy to meet you! I have met many of my guests over the years and it is always so pleasant to put a name and a face together :) Otherwise, I/we keep to ourselves and are quiet. In fact, part of the renovation work was to add insulation between the floor joists and sound board to create a sound barrier for both guests and us. When I have guests, I park on the street to give the driveway space to my guests.
Why they chose this property
I chose this neighborhood primarily because of the quietness and serenity I feel here. I noticed that immediately when I looked at the house back in 2022. Since then, I have gotten to know my neighbors on both sides of the house as well as across and down the street neighbors. We are a community within our city. Everyone is so kind, helpful, and looks out for one another; it's the kind of neighborhood I have always wished to be a part of. I hope that you are able to experience this, too, while you are here too!
Because of how much I love my neighbors and the neighborhood in general, I decided to renovate the basement of the Bedford into a finished 2 bedroom, 1 bath 1200 sq ft living space with a full kitchen and living room for me and my daughter, who is in 8th grade this year, to live in on site. She splits her living space and time between me and her father. The first phase of the renovation work recently concluded.
Another blessing also came our way as we were recently adopted by Pepper, a sweet, friendly, cuddly, indoor and outdoor black cat.
