Ski Weekend at The Charter

We thoroughly enjoyed our ski-in/ski-out stay at The Charter. The hot tub/spa after skiing was perfect, and the proximity to restaurants and shops made everything convenient. Definitely recommend!

Clean room. Dated property and horrible billing-related issues

The total amount charged to my card exceeded by several hundred dollars what was agreed to via the VRBO booking reservation and I am still dealing with property management to get the charges corrected. Shortly after I booked the reservation, I exchanged the notes via the property manager and subsequently received a call saying there was an issue processing my credit card via the VRBO platform (curiously the VRBO service fee charge went thru without issue, as well as the charges related to any other bookings I have ever made). I expressed my sincere concern about providing my credit card separately to them, but was assured by the person that this is VRBO glitch with their system and I would only be charged the exact amounts agreed to…however, the opposite appears to be exactly what occurred! My expectation was that I would be charged the amount agreed to via the listing on the VRBO platform. Upon contacting the property I was told that these other additional fees are “customary” so I now have to contact my credit card company to file a dispute. The entire process has made what was otherwise a positive experience into an administrative nightmare weeks after my trip. Great location and access to slopes, but beware of frequent key card failure issues, overly-expensive breakfast buffet with limited offerings, all in addition to the undisclosed extra credit card charges (ie parking, resort fees, etc).

Thanks for sharing your comments Shane & we apologize for the billing frustrations you encountered. We always have guests pay for their stay on whatever platform they book on & our listings as well as our confirmation emails do detail any extra costs such as breakfast & parking. We will take another look at these materials & see if there's a way to improve them.
