UP ON MAIN - a charming historic apartment in the heart of Eureka Springs
This beautifully unique space is the (completely private) upper floor of a very grand old building right in the vibrant heart of Eureka Springs. Originally opened in 1885 as Harp’s Grocery, the building has long been a fixture in the coolest, most distinctive historic town in the Ozarks. Now updated with modern amenities, you’ll find it to be an absolute haven where your crew can relax and have a blast together. World class dining, galleries, shopping and more are all within easy walking distance; it’s just a block or two to many of the very best attractions of Eureka Springs.
Bedroom one has a queen size bed, a large flatscreen TV, and a gorgeous private balcony overlooking Main Street, a truly magical spot to simply sit and chill in the evening when the twinkle lights come on.
Bedroom two has a full size bed with a large flatscreen TV with DVD player and a super rad Nintendo gaming system that plays the original Nintendo NES games as well as Super Nintendo games. We have an awesome selection of vintage games here where you can geek out and get your nostalgia fix. Original Nintendo games include: Super Mario Bros., Super Mario 3, Paperboy 2, and Kirby’s Adventure. Super Nintendo games include: Super Mario World and Legend of Zelda. Each game has its own labeled spot on the shelf - please return them to their places when you check out!
The bathroom is a stunning space with a deep soaking tub/shower combo under a windowed cupola. There’s also a washer and dryer here for your convenience.
In the kitchen you’ll find a full complement of standard appliances and accessories, including a full size fridge, a coffee maker, a gas range/oven, a toaster oven, a microwave, plenty of plates/bowls/utensils/flatware, and a bar with two barstools. The dining area looks down over Leatherwood Creek, a tributary of the White River which now flows both openly and under Main Street in a long tunnel, a mysterious aspect of the mysterious Eureka Underground. The babbling of the creek below melts stress away and puts you directly in touch with nature.
In the living room you’ll find a flatscreen TV with DVD player and a widely varied collection of around 50 DVDs, plus a large selection of books, an acoustic guitar, board games, puzzles, etc. So much entertainment!
The porch off of the living room is where you enter the property - it’s a few steps above your designated parking spot on Jackson Street. You’ll know you’re at the right place when you see the lime green door!
From the porch you can look down into Leatherwood Creek - it’s absolutely stunning!!! If you’re bringing more than one vehicle, there are low cost, easily accessible paid parking lots less than a block away in each direction.

We had a wonderful stay and really enjoyed this property! The home was clean, comfortable, and exactly as described in the listing. The beds were cozy, the kitchen was well stocked, and the location was perfect for everything we had planned. Check-in and check-out were easy, and the host was responsive and helpful. The only small issue we noticed was that the area rug in the living room could use a deep cleaning. It wasn’t a huge deal and did not impact our stay, but it did stand out compared to how nice and well-kept the rest of the home was.Overall, we had a great experience and would definitely consider staying here again. Thank you for a lovely stay!
We had a Great stay! The rental was excellent and exactly as expected. The owner was quick to answer any questions and extremely accommodating. The location is very convenient and walkable to shops, bars and restaurants. We would definitely stay again!
This is the most perfect modern style that’s close to all the fun shops of eureka. Short driving distance from antique stores and everything. The host was great and super responsive always. The home was easy to find, very clean and so homely! 10/10 recommend to anyone! We will be staying again! We frequent eureka and have just found our new home away from home!
This spot was great! The apartment itself was very cool, beds are comfortable and the host made sure we had everything we needed. The location is unbeatable.
Great place to stay, close to everything, beds very comfortable, eclectic style of place I loved. Only issue was you have to pass through a bedroom to get to bathroom and rest of house but if you’re with family or close friends it wasn’t a big deal. Host was responsive
The location is great! You’re within walking distance to downtown and right around the corner from a coffee shop. Matt is a great host and was always quick to communicate. The apartment is nice though the layout does require you to pass through the first bedroom to get to the second one. As a result, people in the farthest bedroom have to cut through the other bedroom to use the restroom or get to living room. As long as you’re comfortable with everyone you’re staying with, it’s not a big deal. Overall, this is a nice vacation rental in a great location!

Liked: Check-in, communication, location
Disliked: Cleanliness
Although the location was convenient, the unit itself was lacking in many ways. Strangely enough, lighting is so poor in the kitchen that it’s basically unusable. Overall, the place was not very clean. We were never able to get the living room TV to work. I’ve never left a negative review before but this just wasn’t a great experience.
Great location! Absolutely best of both worlds being on the edge of town. Everything downtown very accessible by foot. Host was quick to respond with communication. And host was very kind on letting us know the property was available hours before check in time. Thank you! This would have been a 5 star rating if closer attention was paid to cleanliness of the apartment and the amount of linens on hand. Laundering towels and wash cloths isn't what one looks forward to doing while on vacation. All small issues really ..
Stayed there for the Blues Festival. Location was great as it is a short walk to everything in town. Very comfortable apartment with lots of character. Very much enjoyed it and recommend this location. Only space for one vehicle to park.
We enjoyed our stay. The place was super clean. Lots of room, very spacious.Just a one minute walk to restaurants and shops. We would love to stay here again!
