A private gate opens to a sandy beach for casual walks, a dip in the ocean, paddle boarding, fishing or just watching the sailboats pass by. The bay has gentle waves that are calm and inviting with warm swimmable water. Your view includes the Catalina Islands 6 miles offshore, one of the most sought out scuba diving and snorkeling locations in Costa Rica. Dive boats can get there in 10 minutes. Let our on-site concierge take care of all the details for you for a relaxing and worry free stay. Villa Potrero is in a beach community within walking distance of several great restaurants such as Hemmingway’s, Nita Coffee, Cerveceria Independiente (Brewery), La Forketta, MerKdo (Grocery) and the sailing center. A few minutes’ drive takes you to El Tiki, Coco Loco, Surf Box (Coffee), Sentido Norte, and the Fruit Stand. So many great options nearby! The Flamingo marina is on the south end of the bay offering sunset cruises and world-class fishing.

Can’t say enough good things about our vacation at this amazing villa. We had a large family group and the villa had so many things to keep the kids (of all ages) entertained! Loved how clean it was and so much room inside and out!! What makes it even more special is the incredible staff who take such good care of you! I miss them already, as they are so warm and friendly and very helpful and available! Don’t hesitate to book this home! We will return! Thank you, thank you!!

This home is perfect for large groups. It is clean, well equipped, comfortable and the host has thought of everything you might need. It is located right on the beach with beautiful views and walking distance to great restaurants. We will definitely go back! None of us wanted to leave! The concierge , Catalina was delightful and very efficient! All an all a perfect place!

We spent 9 days at villa potrero with 16 people.. it was clean and spacious and everyone had their own space. Catalina, the property manager, was amazing! She was responsive and helpful so friendly! Playa Potrero is beautiful and quiet and the sunsets can’t be beat!

This home is absolutely lovely. It was exactly as the listing showed (I was worried it was too good to be true). We loved the beautiful beach, the kids could not get enough of the pool, the extra boards for using in the water was wonderful. The house is beautiful, the rooms are wonderful and all the space was fantastic for our large family group. The hosts were very responsive and attentive and I really hope we can come back someday.

A beautiful home in a lovely location! Arturo and Martin were waiting outside for us when we pulled in and made us feel very welcome. The accommodations are beautiful, clean and well maintained. Villa Potrero was the perfect choice for our family group of 11, ages 12 to 83. The home was spacious, comfortable, and exactly as described, with plenty of room for everyone to relax and gather together. The beach was just steps away, and we loved having access to kayaks, boogie boards, and other beach gear.What truly made our stay exceptional was the wonderful staff. Cata helped arrange everything in advance—from excursions and transportation to groceries and a private chef—making the trip completely stress-free. Chef Kattya and her team prepared several fantastic meals and easily accommodated dietary needs. Housekeeping provided and onsite maintenance were a bonus.Another unforgettable highlight were the howler monkeys that visited the mango tree near the end of our stay. We felt so lucky to experience that kind of wildlife right in our own yard. This was truly one of our best family vacations, and we’re already talking about coming back.

Just a wonderful property Owner was very responsiveOnce on site Martin and Arturo made our stay easy and pleasant with high quality service and recommendations For my wife’s birthday we had Arturo book a wonderful private chef Kattya and the 9 of us were treated to high quality meal prepared and served in house, and they cleaned up, too.Just an incredible birthday experience for my wifeThe house is well maintained and close to town as well as being right on the beach

This is our second time staying at this property, and our most recent visit was even better than the last! Our large group stayed for a week and we had the best time. The house was clean and stocked with everything we needed. The groundskeeper, Martín, was so attentive, and the property manager, Arturo, resolved any questions and provided us with wonderful suggestions and recommendations. Could not recommend this stay more!

Perfect beachfront location

We knew nothing about this area before booking but fell in love at first site. The home was immaculate and well cared for. The onsite property managers were wonderful, responsive immediately and so helpful. The combination of pool and beach was perfect. We walked the beach to dinners and rented golf carts to explore further. Couldn’t have been better.

We had a wonderful stay. There were 14 of us total celebrating a 60th birthday and friendship. Arturo was awesome, so friendly and kind, he went out of his way to make our stay special, we even had the opportunity to meet Kata his daughter and she is lovely. Our house-moms Jurianna and Mary prepared breakfast every morning, it was such a delight. The house had everything we needed, the view was "take your breath away" each time. Town was only a 10 minute easy walk. We had Kattya Campos a chef prepare dinner for us twice and it was delicious. Used Boomerang Tours for a 4 hour beautiful Catamaran tour. We went to Vandara Hot Spring for the day. I can't say enough about Villa Potrero. We all hope we can visit again one day. Thank you for sharing your home!

This was the absolute trip of a lifetime and this house and the wonderful staff onsite are what make it a truly remarkable experience. The house could not have been more perfect for our family group of 13. Every bedroom was spacious and had its own nice bathroom. The view words cannot express and the sunsets are gorgeous and totally different every night. The proximity is close to several beautiful beaches we rode golf carts to. I cannot stress enough to trust Catalina’s recommendations on food and tours. Bless her… she was at our beck and call all week. We were loudly greeted every morning by the howler monkeys in the mango tree in the yard… many howler monkeys with lots of babies! Poco the dog became one of our own . He greeted us every morning and kept us company . Dunnia kept the house so clean. Martin and Benito kept our grounds and everything in the house perfect . Chef Kattya prepared her wonderful meals in the home. Her crew were amazing .. so professional yet fun !! Her sweet assistant Andy even took one of our sick guests to the hospital and stayed with her the whole time . Costa Rica and Villa Potrero will always hold a special place in our hearts. The people are so happy and respectful. Pura Vida !!

Our stay at this Playa Potrero Vrbo was truly incredible and exceeded every expectation.We had a group of 17 ranging from 11 months to 67 years old, and it was perfect for everyone. The kids loved boogie boarding at the beach, pool time, and volleyball, while the adults were able to relax and enjoy the beautiful setting. It’s rare to find a place that works so well for all ages, but this one absolutely does.The communication was above and beyond — thoughtful, responsive, and genuinely caring. We felt so well taken care of from start to finish.Chef Kattya was a huge highlight, creating an unforgettable private chef dinner for my 40th birthday and a beautiful birthday brunch for my mom. Both meals were amazing and so special.The staff went out of their way to make our stay magical, including surprising the kids with a hidden Easter candy hunt. And when my nephew needed stitches, they even gave my brother’s family a ride to the hospital — truly above-and-beyond care.We also enjoyed phenomenal massages on the property.This home is more than a rental — it’s an experience filled with warmth and hospitality. We’re already dreaming of coming back!

Family getaway!!

We had an absolutely wonderful stay! My family of 8, 23 yrs to 65 years loved our time in Costa Rica! The house is beautiful and immaculate!! The location, yard and beach are breathtaking!! We all went for a daily sunset swim in the ocean! Arturo was great at helping to plan adventures and keeping the house and yard secure and beautiful!

The property was gorgeous! The rooms had comfortable beds and their own bathrooms which was great for our group of friends traveling together. Arturo was the house manager and was incredibly helpful well before our trip and throughout. He helped make recommendations and arrangements. The house had a fully stocked kitchen and two large refrigerators upstairs plus smaller kitchenettes downstairs (I believe two). The pool was perfect sized with plenty of outdoor seating and activities. The house is so nice that it was easy to want to stay there but there is a lot to explore in town, so I recommend getting out and about!

Wonderful Xmas Holiday

Our family of 14 found the villa to be perfect. Plenty of bedrooms, bathrooms, and places to gather. There were two dining tables, one indoors and another outdoors, that accommodated all of us. Arturo and all the help saw that all our needs and wants were taken care of. The teens enjoyed the short walk into town. Fabulous holiday!

We are a large family of 9 (yes, 7 kids!) living in Minnesota and enjoying our Costa Rican paradise Villa Potrero whenever we can. We chose the home for its location on the beach, large yard and its close proximity to Potrero village. Potrero beach has soft sand and is wonderful for swimming and playing with the children.
