**On VRBO, we offer a full cancelation 48 hours after booking. We require a 30% deposit to book and the balance is due 60 days prior. Any cancelations made prior to 60 days before arrival are given a 50% refund of the deposit. Within 60 days, the reservation is non refundable.

Amazing Location

We loved our stay at the Five Star Tamarindo. The views were spectacular and the property was very spacious and provided our group of 9 lots of room to roam. We were very comfortable and preferred spending our time at the house. I would return to this property in a heart beat!

Paradise

From the moment we entered the property, our vacation was perfect. Ana made us feel very welcome upon arrival and was very responsive to any question we had. She arranged all of our transportation to and from activities and recommended amazing tour guides and catering services. The house itself is absolutely beautiful. The pool area was where most of our time was spent and the view is perfection. The town of Tamarindo is a five minute drive at most, so shopping and restaurants are very accessible.

The views were stunning, the pool, outdoor grill and patio was awesome. Though the bedrooms had a/c, the main house did not. It was uncomfortably hot in the afternoon and evenings. For this reason, we spent much of our time in the pool. Overall, the house was wonderful and we will likely go back next year!

I cannot say enough good things about the place. We canceled one of our beach days to just hang out by the pool with its fun balcony "diving board" and the awesome view of Tamarindo! All girls had a plenty of space and we took advantage of the kitchen, outdoor grill and the different hangout spots. The management company was very attentive and even brought in extra chairs so we could all sit together whether inside or outside. We all loved Casa Leo Loco and hope to return again soon!

We had some great BBQ's using the outside grill, and loved jumping from the master bedroom's balcony into the pool. The walk up the hill is a little steep towards the end, but coming home and having a pool to jump into right after to cool off, made the walk worth it. If you don't have a vehicle like we did, grocery stores do deliver which was useful for when we ran out of water, and snacks etc. Overall, I can't recommend Casa Leo Loco enough. Next time we come back, we will definitely be staying there!

Reviewer Comments: The house has several things that need immediate attention, for example, the fridge really doesn't keep stuff that cool, the grill doesn't turn on the right way, the pool is missing tiles and most of the bath fixtures are pretty antiquated. The house gives you quite an impression when you first walk in, all sunny and tropical and such but, on closer look you can tell there's a slight sour taste on the property. Now taking into account that we just rented the house for a week, and that we were in a very festive mood, the house did fulfill our needs, if maybe not our expectations. The setting is very paradise like. The guard and maid were very helpful advising on different things to do and helping us find the services we needed. Our vacation was awesome! But will probably not rent this house again, we'll try to look for something better.

We spent countless hours lounging by the pool, eating at the larger table outside, or sitting on the patio as a family. The three main bedrooms and bathrooms were very nice. All in all we had a fantastic time. Here are some of our biggest complaints: 1) Dirt road leading up to the villa is very challenging and provided to be much for some of our family members with bad backs 2) lack of trash cans in the bedrooms 3) The 2 extra bedrooms by the pool had an unusual amount of bugs. Especially the upstairs bedroom. We would come back to the room to find dead insects on our bed sheets.Bathroom shower didn't have hot water. 4) BBQ Grill was terrible. Heat was poorly distributed on the grill. Knob for 2nd burner was missing. 5) Bushes at end of infinity pool need to be trimmed to give the infinity look 6) Gate should be automatic. we did not feel safe because of the gate.

I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Beautiful view but that's about all!!!! No water for three days , house keeper here grabbed my dry clean only shirts that I had ready to go to dry cleaners and she washed them and are a child's size now!!! 1000.00 in shirts gone. We were never given keys to lock the house so you have to Carry anything of value with you when you leave, no safe, sinks do not drain, ac does not work in 2 of the 3 rooms, very dated , cook ware un useable, dishes chipped and broken . Very much a shame that this place has been let go like is has I guess I just expected more from a home they are asking 1.2 million for. Oh by the way they offer this home as. A 5 need room it is not the outside 2 bedroom tower is not a proper place to have guests stay so don't be deceived when they tell you it is 5 bed rooms. This is a beautiful old home that has been rented to death with no monies put back into it. NEVER AGAIN.

BIG GROUP = BIG FUN

This House is absolutely amazing. We had a group of 11. 5 couples and 1 single and this place worked out better then ever imagined. The property management RPM is fine to deal with. They were helpful with any questions i had and they let us keep our bags in office while we did a day out in the town. The house is very big and has plenty of space for a large group like ours. The master bed room which i slept has a balcony that looks over the pool and the views of the ocean and sunset are breath taking. The pool is absolutely stunning. Best pool in town by far. The pics do not do this house justice. When you show up and see with your own eyes then the beauty of this house really sets in. For such a large group the room situation worked out great. The outside shower the looks out to the ocean is worth checking out. The walk to town is not so bad. Yes you have to walk up a long hill but a little walking never hurt anyone. We usually walked into town and cab back. Most of us still walked back. The location of this house is great. its a cab ride away to the big market, and also close enough to walk into town. We cooked at the house twice and it was all great. full outside BBQ with a full propane tank. If you can swing it i would stay at this house. AMAZING Oh and for any adventures or tours talk to LEO at Overcast Costa Rica in town. Best prices and very honest/trustworthy. We used him for a lot of stuff.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Casa Leo loco met all our expectations. The place was amazing, the view was superb, and the location was perfect. Close enough to feel like you are part of the town, but far enough up the hillside to have privacy among your group. The property itself is a sprawling villa, different wings of the house offer spectacular views from different angles. The master bedroom suite is huge, the other bedrooms are private and unique. Pool area with bbq set up and courtyard can't be better. We went down with a group of 10, everyone there thanked me for choosing such an awesome place. The only improvement would be a to have a an actual oven in the kitchen and a bathroom on the ground level in the main house. Overall minor set back for such an awesome place. The house is beyond secure, so no worries about safety or belongings. We loved the villa and are planning to do a reunion trip in the next year or two. The management co was super helpful, pool service daily, and cleaning crew every couple days. We locked ourselves out once on accident but we were able to get a new set of keys within minutes.... Truly a well oiled machine in function. Casa Leo loco was great, the wildlife is prevalent and appreciated, the decor was clean and comfortable. This place, I think is legendary. One of our group members picked up a shuttle from the airport, the shuttle driver knew exactly where the house was and didn't even need directions!! In conclusion, we loved our stay, thank you very much to the staff and everyone else involved with this awesome property. If you are on the fence about choosing this place for your vacation HQ, just do it, you won't be bummed. Casa Leo loco rules!

This house is really Very nice

We came to Casa Leo Loco with some reservations after reading some reviews. How ever we were really all totally surprised on how nice this home is. The photos really don`t to it justice at all, this is really a top quality mansion with a lot of space. Everything written about how the rooms is separate is true, but the court yard is secure and locking up a night is not a big deal, we had two families share the property and it worked fine with small kids, we just used a baby monitor to keep in touch. The kitchen is well stocked with spices, oils and all the basics and that is a nice touch. the BBQ area is really high quality, who ever built this place was a cook or a grill man, we gathered around the grill each night and cooked up some wonderful feasts and could seat 13 people at the table comfortably. (that is hard to come by) Over all there is a boat load of room here for us to spread out, there are two living areas (one inside and one out side) the tower room work great for us as one family just took that over. The view is as good as it gets and the wind comes through the house very nice each day to keep it cool. Jumping off the upper balcony into the pool was great for the kids and the pool was a lot of fun. I don`t think we would have enjoyed a place lower down in town as much as there would have not been as good a view and it would be much hotter... Like most people say the road up the house sucks, and it does but it is a short bumpy drive or a 10min walk. The view makes it all worth while. As we travel in a big family group of up to 12 people we have come to the conclusion that homes like this one with an epic view, big out door living space, nice bbq, lots of bedroom spread out and that view (again) is exactly what works for us.... I for got to speak about the second fridge out side, that is a nice touch with lots of people and is great for keeping all the drinks cold. If or when we come back to Tamarindo we would not stay any where different, this was perfect for us.

Unprecedented views

We enjoyed the outdoor space in this house. The views were gorgeous. Other than sleeping in your bedroom, you do not use the inside space. Everything is dated and needs to be freshened up. Although the house was clean, it seemed dirty because it was dated- especially the kitchen. The bedrooms were fine to sleep in and had A/C. The rest of the house did not and was hot. The housekeeper was 10/10. Did our laundry without asking and cooked us breakfast if we wanted. The maintenance guys were also helpful. We had a chef that came in every night to cook and we loved that. His name was Luis Dinarte, with Guanacaste Food Experience and I’d highly recommend him. Although you could walk into town, it is a trek and the road is horrible. We had a car, which was expensive but I do not think you have a choice if you stay at this property.

Very cool house with a cool layout!!!

Great home for a group of adults or a few families. The layout is awesome and the vibe of the home is great. The only complaint i would have is 3 of the bedrooms are in a building separate from the house. There is only one bathroom for these three bedrooms. Whoever is staying in the top floor bedroom has to walk outside and go downstairs to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night. Not ideal for older people. The room has great views but the bathroom situation might be something to consider depending on your group. Worked out fine for us and we loved everything about the house!

Great Stay at Casa Leo Loco!

Had an amazing time at Casa Leo Loco through Stay in Tamarindo! The house (Casa Leo Loco) was awesome! Very unique and excellent for a family like ours. My mom (80), wife, three daughters (15, 18 and 21) rounded out with daughters 21 year boyfriend. From the moment of booking, I worked with Cris G, our concierge from Stay in Tamarindo and she was literally, 'THE BEST'! She made the trip by helping me schedule a bunch of activities. We decided for this trip to do more water activities, than hiking or jungle/rainforest activities. Just our preference. Therefore, she coordinated rides to and from the airport, rental vehicle (Toyota Rush 7 seat SUV) for trips around with the entire family, and a 6 seat Polaris side by side (highly recommended) for the kids to drive all around town, beaches, off road, etc... Cris, also handled scheduling a private Catamaran tour, a two hour jet ski tour in the ocean, as well as Surf lessons. The final was the house comes with a boat rental for four hours. We elected to deep sea fish and caught Tuna and a huge 120 pound SailFish! Cris helped us with three private dinners which were definitely amazing! As for the house, it is located up the hill about 5 minutes from downtown/beach and the view from the backyard of the sunsets over the ocean was amazing! We had this view every night! The pool is unbelievable... I would highly recommend this house for families and couples. Not young children due to pool. Cris G and the team were excellent!
