Clean cabin upon arrival! All the amenities we could need for a 3 night stay. This place is great, beautiful spot on a beautiful lake! Will definitely be back.
We SO enjoyed this little place. It is a gem & just what we were looking for. There is everything you would need: coffee pot & Keurig, microwave, toaster, pots & pans, crockpot, towels - everything of home. The owner is very responsive to questions. We loved it & hope to return!!
I can’t say enough good things. If you are looking for a quiet and beautiful place to enjoy nature and get away while having the comfort of home, this is it.
This property is beautifully, clean and exactly as described. Loved our stay, will keep on our short list of places to visit again. Wonderful view of the lake.
Great place to unwind and relax! The cabin was clean and comfortable with games and books galore. The deck in back has a beautiful view of Smith Lake. Star watching at night was wonderful as well. We will be back!
Very remote and quiet. Not to far from Grand Rapids which is what I was looking for. We had our boat on the lake. We caught enough fish for a meal. The public boat landing is not great but it’s not any fault of the property it is what it is. We made it work. The kitchen was beautiful and up to date, all in all it was a great experience. The cabin fit the bill perfectly.
The stone cottage was a great place to stay for our fall trip to northern Minnesota. Grouse hunting close by and a cute, comfortable cabin to relax in. It contained everything we needed to make our stay pleasurable, including lots of towels, comfortable beds, great shower, plenty of kitchen supplies, and a nice Keurig coffeemaker. Cozy decor yet updated and very clean. Beautiful views from the large deck. We’d love to go back!
I loved the property. My only disappointment was that the fireplace cannot be used. The host says plans are for a gas insert and that would make this wonderful cabin perfect. There are several cabins around it but our weekend was very quiet. I'm not sure what summer would be like.
We loved the charm this place offered. It was the perfect blend of old world charm with modern amenities. Everything met or exceeded our expectations. My only critique would be that the owner put in the description that this is a “shared” property. They have a rental right next door that uses the same dock, kayaks, and paddle boards. By no means was it a deal breaker, but still would have been nice to know before booking. Overall, it was the perfect week of relaxation!
We enjoyed so much about this location. It offers a lot of amenities in one place. Two of the bedroom screens have holes so beware if you attract mosquitos. My child and I look like we have chickenpox now but it was our own fault for not double checking the screens before bed.
The kitchen and bathroom is well stocked. The bedrooms are comfy with great storage. The dining room, living room, porch, backyard and dock were paradise. We had a lot of luck fishing and enjoyed swimming, kayaking and reading while floating on the water. Its perfect for families, kids and dogs. If your dog loves to swim this spot is heaven.

Thank you for letting us know about the screens! We will get them repaired ASAP! And thank you for being such great guests. We loved hosting you.
I didn't even care where in Northern Minnesota we ended up- but my critera was a cabin on a lake with AC and that would take 2 bigger dogs. I looked for a very time before I found this cozy cabin since there are not very many places that will take 2 bigger dogs. Our stay was absolutely wonderful and the cabin had everything we needed and then some. It was super clean, well stocked and was very nicly decorated. The king bed was super comfy- and that's coming from people with a Sleep Number bed! Paddle boarding is harder than it looks! We look the rowboat out for a cruise around the shore, too. Our dogs had a great time relaxing and watching the lake. It was just what we needed. The mosquitoes were terrible, so come prepared with long pants, sweatshirts, bug spray, and we found the ThermaCell Bug Repellent worked well, too. The mosquitoes do like to get in when you open the door, which was a pain with having to let the dogs in & out, but with all the rain this year- it is just a bumper crop of mosquitoes. Sandra was a great host and was helpful with check in and check out directions & questions. We ventured to the Timberwolf Inn for the Friday Fish Fry. They have a great salad bar too. We are already thinking about booking again this winter...when all the mosquitoes are dead!
