The master bedroom has a king bed, walk in closet and full bath. The kitchen is fully equipped and includes a washer and dryer. Attached to the kitchen are a dining room with a view and a living room with a wood burning fireplace. Upstairs are 3 bedrooms. Located in an alpine setting, it is less than 0.5 mile from the Venable, Comanche and Rainbow trail head. Direct TV with all available channels on flat screen TVs in living room and kids bunk room.

The deck out back, overlooking the running water of a stream is one of our happy places, and we will definitely be back next year! Sip some coffee on the swinging bench and find your happy place!

Wonderful Place to Relax!

Very nice place to spend relaxing time in a beautiful setting! Great remote location and close to some amazing trail heads. Facility was nicely furnished, and we didn't lack anything during our stay!

This place was amazing! Inside perfect living space, clean. The real treat was outside. Venable creek is literally off the back deck. We sat out there listening and watching for hours. Plus it was a 2 minute drive to the Venable trail head. Great location for what we wanted. We had a. Issue with the fireplace our first night, the owner had people at the house within 15 minutes. No complaints whatsoever, my dogs loved it also. Will stay again! Ghanks

Great summer getaway

Overall the stay was great! Everything was well stocked and clean. The views were amazing and it was fun to hang out on the patio near the creek. The hike the owner suggested was a little harder than we expected but was beautiful.

Great vacation! This was one of the nicest cabins we’ve stayed at. It checked all the boxes. The cabin was very clean, tastefully decorated, full of amenities, and set on private serene setting near the creek. The deck overlooking the creek has a gorgeous fire table that we enjoyed sitting at, visiting, and playing games on too. We left with so many wonderful lasting memories. Loved the hiking so close to the property too. We would definitely stay here again if back near Westcliffe. Richard was also very helpful and prompt with his responses with any questions we had.

Peaceful Getaway

Gorgeous, cabin, gorgeous location. The creek right off the deck and the National Forest just up the hill made it the perfect place to escape the city and relax in the peaceful forest. Will be going back again for sure.

I grew up in a military family and traveled the world. I later joined the Navy myself and spent 12 years as a fighter/attack pilot flying off of aircraft carriers. After the Navy I spent 28 years with Continental Airlines (27 as a Captain ) flying Domestic and International routes. I currently live in Denver.

Sitting on 1.8 acres of land the Venerable Cabin has a serene and relaxed feeling creating a time for family games and memory-making experiences. We love spending Thanksgiving at the cabin.
Westcliffe is a sleeping jewel in a beautiful valley with magnificent mountains. The community recently received International Dark Skies recognition for the communities shaded lighting which preserves the night time views of the Milky Way and the stars above creating an incredible and moving experience.
Summertime in the small town of Westcliffe has offered us a variety of activities. With an outdoor theatre in the park, The Blue Grass Festival, Western Days, Movies at the local theatre, along with local fun unique shops.

We Love Enjoying the dry heat of the summer days along with the cool nights, listening to the stream in the background, and coming in the fall and see the spectacular sight of the Aspens turning to gold.
