We had a family event in town that we needed a place for 6 of us to stay comfortably and relax when there. This place was great, it had plenty of entertaining space and comfortable seating. When checking in, the window unit in one room wasn't working but they were very responsive and put in a new one the next day. Probably would have done it that night, but with 4 bedrooms, we were able to make due for a night.Quaint place and would stay again. One minor annoyance is the shared driveway and tight parking, but there's not much that can be done about that. If you have a big vehicle, probably best to plan on parking in the street.Great property manager too.
Kitchen was very well equipped with dishes, glasses, mugs, pots and pans. Major appliances were brand new. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and feeding the koi in the little pond.
This place had everything we needed and was so cozy and comfortable. The locations was great as it was a short drive to dining and shopping. Would stay here again.
My brothers and I stayed here while visiting for a family event. The house is well appointed. Liked the labeling on all the kitchen doors and cabinets. We used the nice coffee/tea station in the house every morning
Location is in a safe and active community. Plenty of nice restaurants nearby. Easy walking distance to the Country Club Plaza. Nice hiking path a few blocks from the house.
Would book again.
We were familiar with the neighborhood so we were glad this listing was available. House was exactly as described. We'd stay there again in a heartbeat.
We are familiar with Brookside and were delighted to find this home for the Thanksgiving holiday, close to family. It is spacious, clean, comfortable, and well stocked. We hope to stay there again on upcoming trips to Kansas City.
Great communication with host, cute house with lots of room for 8 adults and 2 littles. The koi pond was a fun addition in a cute backyard! Parking was a little tricky, but was sufficient for 3 vehicles, using the street. Quiet, shady neighborhood. Wish we had stayed longer!
This is the best equipped VRBO house I have stayed at. Even if you don’t know you need something, it was there. Very clean and comfortable. Very safe and quiet neighborhood. Great option for restaurants nearby. We ate at Red Door Woodfired Grill; great menu and food was awesome. There was a grocery store right across the street. I would highly recommend this house.
Wonderful place! House was clean, in a beautiful, quiet neighborhood. Fenced in yard was really nice. 30 minute walk to Plaza, not far from restaurants or grocery stores. Jennifer was a great host, when we had a question she responded very quickly. We appreciated her assistance immensely! We would definitely stay here again.
The property was well maintained and inviting. The owner generously left convenient extra touches in the kitchen like coffee and tea choices, granola bars and even a few pantry basics like pasta. A nice touch. Cozy yet very spacious, quiet neighborhood. you'll enjoy your stay!
Overall, the house was cute, clean and easy to find. It had plenty of space for the 6 of us who came for a girl’s weekend.
The host was quick to respond with any questions I had and provide recommendations on places to eat. She accommodated us for a slightly early check-in and slightly late check-out.
I would recommend this property.
We did a 3 day get away to the Kansas City area and were so glad to find a home on a quiet street in our price range.
Samantha made everything very easy, instructions to get into the house were emailed the day prior and she even messaged just to check in how the trip was going.
My girls loved the coi pond in the backyard and were out there just relaxing every evening while I cooked dinner and again before breakfast
We had a great stay in Kansas City this past weekend, and a big part of that was this property! Everything was as advertised, even better in terms of the space, and ability to spread out. We loved the homey vibe on the main level, as the kitchen flows into the dining room which flows into the family room. It was nice to have a little outdoor area, with the bubbling Koi pond, although keep in mind the shared driveway doesn't leave much room for error in terms of turning around/backing down.
We have stayed at a lot of VRBO's over the years, and I would venture this is the best stocked kitchen we have found. We would definitely stay here again, and give it a 5.0 star rating. Also, the communications with Samantha and Jennifer were super quick and helpful. We will be back!
I cannot recommend this darling house enough!! We are 72yr old women who have been friends for over 50yrs. Six took that train from St. Louis . I live less than a mile but do not have enough beds for our group. This was the perfect answer, much better for us than getting a couple of hotel rooms. Jennifer was so accommodating when I came down, for the first time, with COVID the week before my friends were to arrive. I was in a panic, trying to figure out the logistics as I was at the end of my isolation period. Jennifer was wonderful and my friends were so happy. I didn’t stay with them but was able to sit outside on Saturday and we all enjoyed the peaceful backyard. You will not be sorry renting this property!
Absolutely the BEST host! One of our favorite homes!
Lily's Pad is one of our absolute favorite rental homes. We've been using VRBO for almost 30 yrs. The Host, Jennifer is unparalleled. When the coffee machine had an error on the control panel, Jennifer not only responded immediately, she went out and bought a new coffee machine, delivered it to the front porch - and it was a Holiday! She is incredible! This is our 2nd time renting Lily's Pad in the gorgeous neighborhood of Brookside in Kansas City, MO. It truly feels like home. 4 beds + a day bed (the beds are so comfortable!), beautiful clean, well-eqipped bathrooms, and a wonderful, large kitchen with an island + seating, and a spacious coffee bar including coffee & sweeteners. Comfortable dining & living room, adorable back yard with a fish pond & lots of birds, a lovely front porch with seating. Washer & dryer. Everything you could need at your fingertips. The location within blocks of divine restaurants (Aixois!) and a few minutes from world-class shopping & more restaurants & bars at the Plaza. KC has an incredible array of museums, mere minutes away. A trip to Kansas City is perfect for every age! And how about those Chiefs?! I loved every moment!!!
We arrived to check in to find the house occupied by the owners who had ‘misread’ the calendar. Although they offered to turn the house over it would have taken hours. We scrambled to find other lodging for our group and dog.
We needed to be able to stay in that area because of a large family event nearby. I made arrangements to stay at the home for the second night and was promised it would cost one night rent and half of the fees. That was a lie. I was refunded one night rent and no fees. VRBO did not refund any fees nor did the homeowners refund any of their fees to meet our agreed on price. Our ‘compensation’ for being inconvenienced was to have access to the home early. The rep fell all over herself saying how they would let us in early. In early to the house we were supposed to have at 4pm the night before?
I rented this house months ago, communicated with the rep several times and the location was critical to our plans for the weekend.
About the home - the off street parking is a VERY narrow shared driveway. The front porch furniture was filthy. There are ring cameras on both doors so you are being recorded if you are on the patio or porch.
It is a nice home but not worth it when the fees are as much as the rent. We were treated horribly, the owners took no ownership of their mistake and we will never return and will not be renting from VRBO again after using them for decades.

An off day?
I’m very pregnant, uncomfortable, cranky, I booked last minute and arrived a couple hours later than anticipated (6 pm instead of 4), but I had my worst Vrbo experience to date.
Pros: neighborhood, charming aspects including backyard, some nice updates including refrigerator, my dad liked the comfortable recliner, my 4 year old liked the fish/squirrels/birds and games closet; co-host did communicate and offered partial refund (received) and discount on cleaning fees (unclear if received yet).
Cons: in the automated Vrbo message host phone number was X’d out. We didn’t have checkin instructions by 6, and the time it took to get a response through Vrbo felt excessive with caveats above, it was a hot day and the neighbors were clearly having a gathering and the driveway/garage is split (this was in checkin instructions not received but I don’t believe it was in listing or reviews).
The washer/dryer was inoperable/undergoing maintenance/dissasembled and partially blocked the rear door making accessibility challenging. I cleaned up some spilled milk in the kitchen and found the floor dirty. The downstairs smells like an old house (again I’m very pregnant and sensitive to smells). The upstairs carpet is old, the heat upstairs was repressive. AC units helped but took time to do so.
The host was kind to offer a late checkout when I booked; we did not end up using it, I just wanted to leave as soon as possible.
