Great stay…Great home…Great location

We had a great stay. Host was great he even called us to let us know we could check in early. He gave us his personal number in case we needed anything. The home is very cozy and clean. The attached apartment is perfect for teens or even a whole family. It was perfect for the 4th being as it’s so close to the pier. We would def recommend and would book again in the future.

Fun times had by all

We had a great week of sun and fun. The house was as advertised. Chris was a great host. It was an older house. The bed/bedroom configuration was a little different but all in all a great experience and would rent again

We’ll be back!

The outdoor patio was fabulous for our son who is in a wheelchair! He was able to experience the beach and sunsets without going to the beach. The outdoor shower was great for the rest of us coming up off the beach!Plenty of dining space and loved that there were fans all throughout the house! The location was very easy for DoorDash and Instacart!Lots of beds!Perfect for our group of grown adult children and spouses!

Oleander House

We had an awesome week here! I would rent this house again! Easy beach access for the swimmers and good fishing for the fishermen of the bunch. Plenty of room to spread out. Bonus having two kitchens. Sure made it easy cooking for 15 people. Plenty of bedrooms. We loved the sun porch. Nice space with plenty of chairs on the patio. Owner was readily available if needed. He contacted us mid-week to see if we needed anything (We didn't). So glad we found this house to stay in.

Beach house with character

The location of our rental was perfect! There was tons of seating inside and outside of the house. The kitchen was well appointed and the beds were comfy! The owner Chris was amazing! We had a little issuse at one point and he was on it immediately! We had a great time!

2024 Family Vacation

We enjoyed our stay at Oleander House. The house and apartment were great for our family. If you like the 1940-1950 vibe, it will be excellent for your family, too. The house is located just a few steps from the beach. Therefore, no wagons were needed to transport the toys, rafts, tents, and chairs.

Nice place

Beautiful beach front house, close to attractions, had everything u would need, great contact with owner, only downfall was the freezer leaked water, and coffee pot leaked and one thing we didn't know was that the house apartment was separate from main house but we made it work and had room for everyone and still managed to spend family time together but over all we had a awesome time 😁

Comfortable stay

Not a fancy place, felt like home. We had two issues and they were taken care of supper quicky. Did miss having an ice maker. Separate apartment for the teens was great!

Location Location Location

Can’t beat the location, directly on the beach and not crowded. The house and apartment had plenty of space for our group of 11. The owner was very responsive to our questions. A couple ideas to make the stay better are a binder with checkout instructions and what to do with trash bins and as other reviewers have stated, the house really needs some updating.

PERFECT LOCATION AND ACCOMMODATION

Oleander House was perfect for our family vacation! We enjoyed being together while also having privacy. The kitchen is well stocked with good equipment to meet all our cooking needs. The property owner was easily accessible. We had a small plumbing issue, called the owner, and it was fixed within an hour. And best of all - the beach is awesome, literally just steps from the deck. Oleander House is close to many awesome restaurants and attractions. Overall, we had an amazing stay and will definitely rent this house again.

Have PCB to Yourself

The house is older. You will rely on wall units for AC on the apartment side of the property. Cooled nicely but took a while. Lots of space. You are not paying for the interior, however. The location is unbelievable. You are literally steps from white sand and impossible views. There is a public beach access point only a few houses down. Very little foot traffic as public parking was minimal. Property is nestled away from the big condo high-rises. At times, it felt like we had the whole beach to ourselves.

Large family with children of all ages

Our family met at the Oleander house from several states. Children ranged in age from 1 year to 21 years old. The large deck, that was gated, was a popular place to gather. Toddlers were able to roam without worry and the beach was steps away. We could come and go from the beach as we wanted. There are souvenir shops with in walking distance right across the road. The older kids were able to go on day trips to Shell Island, the movies, the shops at the Pier, and Wonder Works all within a short distance. The owner was at the property when we arrived changing out a dishwasher and getting the house ready for our group. He showed us around and was really friendly. Our deposit was returned in full to us in a timely manner. Both the lady that booked the house and the owner called us several times during booking, payment, and deposit return to verify information so that everything about our stay went smoothly. The house is one I would recommend and would stay at again.

Perfect Place for Us

This house was perfect for our family vacation. In my opinion, the set up is perfect for multigenerational groups. It is a very cute authentic vintage beach house with the water probably 30 to 40 yards away. There are 4 bedrooms in the main house with comfortable beds. The kitchen has most equipment you might need for the week and there are 2.5 bathrooms. The main living area is not huge but there is PLENTY of space with the sunroom and outdoor patio. The view is way to beautiful to be sitting inside on vacation anyway! The outdoor patio is large enough for everyone to enjoy with lots of chairs to lounge. The gates on the patio lock so you can feel comfortable letting little ones roam. The apartment area has small kitchen area with a decent size living area and an oversized room with 3 queen beds for all the kiddos and a private bedroom for supervising adults and a good sized bathroom. The house is in perfect location in the middle so convenient to either end of the city without being right in the middle of the traffic and popular restaurants and bars. If you're looking for granite countertops, fancy furniture and art, or other high end amenities, this is not your place. If you are looking for an authentic, comfortable, clean home with lots to offer a big group in the perfect location with a very very fair price, then this is your place. I definitely recommend The Oleander House and will definitely try to book this place again. Thanks Chris for the use of your home. Diane Thomas

Great place

We had 5 couples stay on the property. Plenty of room and the house is located on the beach . The house is a older home but is very nice . Property manager was very helpful and I recommend the property to anyone who wants to stay here , except the week I want it .

It was amazing! The whole family absolutely loved it and the house was BEAUTIFUL! The house owner was awesome and made sure we were taken care of the whole time! The best vacation we have ever had for sure! We will definitely be back for another stay!!!

Fabulous!!

This house was great! First time to rent a house instead of a condo. It was fabulous. We loved having access to the beach right off your front porch. The house is older with a few updates. The only negative thing I would say is we need a king bed :) it’s a big adjustment from a king to full size. The house was very clean and we had plenty of room for everybody without being on top of each other. It had everything we needed for a week of living. Then owner is super nice and was available when I had questions. Will definitely be staying here again!

The house is wonderfully located right on the beach. It has a big patio that is enclosed so my 21 month old grandson could run and play and still be enclosed. The kitchen is fully stocked with all the essentials that you could need. Chris was wonderful to work with and answered very quickly with our questions. We had the entire family there and had plenty of room. Would recommend this property to large families that want to stay right on the beach and not have to worry about waiting on elevators or others to get to the beach.

Amazing place!

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit! Love having the beach for a backyard. Ample room for multiple people to be comfortable and plenty of showers!!! Love having two refrigerators to aid in prep storage, beverages, and leftovers because we use the kitchen and never waste time/money eating out while we’re at the beach! Nobody wants to leave the beach early to get cleaned up to go out! We did a Low Country Boil and had a great time!!!
