Luxurious Private River Cabin nestled 50 feet from the bank of the Shenandoah River! Modern kitchen with wallpaper and granite countertops, fully-equipped with most modern kitchen essentials. Upstairs is a king bed, and a queen bed. Downstairs, a love seat and matching chair, plus a XXX large bean bag for kids to enjoy. A/C central HVAC. Washer/Dryer unit, shower and bathroom. TV, DVD, High Speed Internet and WiFi available. DVD Video Library with smart TV is upstairs in bedroom. You can also stream your own movies or videos into the TV with your smart phone! There are lots of local attractions including hiking, canoeing, dining, shopping, horse back riding, and The Amazing Luray Caverns is only 15 minutes from the cabin, and Skyland and Skyline Drive is only a 40 min drive!

Balcony with awesome view of the river. Fire pit for campfire, and charcoal pit for cooking. Large picnic table. Swing sets and a tire swing for children. Nature path along the river for exploration.

Very private location nestled among the river wildlife. Lovely location for swimming, canoeing and fishing and camping. With your own canoe or kayak you could put in at Newport and float to this cabin in approx. 2 1/2 hrs.

Close to Luray- about a 10 min drive to Luray Caverns. 25 minutes to Massanutten waterpark and ski resort.

Labor Day on the Shenandoah 2024

This is our second time staying here and always have a great time. The river is beautiful and the fishing is good. We set up beach chairs on the ledge in front of the house and sat in floated all day.

Overall the property was what it said it was, more amenities would help. The property was fair for the cost. Suggest a hot tub and a nice grill.

Beautiful, private and relaxing...

Property is amazing..... We brought our Bluetooth speaker and rafts and cooked out, fished, floated lit fires and it was all just perfect... I caught at least 60 fish and there all back in the river to keep making more I caught a couple monsters on a rapala minow floater which for me did the best, night crawlers right at the little gas station pulled in bass large mouth and small while also hauling in sunnies the size of my hand..... The river really is great the wildlife is beautiful we saw multiple birds including two eagles... The only people we ever saw were floating down the river and they all waved and were very nice. The host is great contacts quick if you have a question.... I highly recommend we had a blast and it's just a remarkable piece of property....

We really enjoyed the house and location. The kitchen was well stocked, the internet and air conditioning were reliable. We loved the property and river access. Great getaway.

If you want to get away from it all, this is the place!

Great location and more than adequately furnished. You really don’t need to bring anything. Quiet and private. If you are fishing the river, go above the small rapids and cast into them. Bass were all over it. Water level dependent. A really cool place to stay, we will be back!

Very private

My wife and I rented the cabin for our anniversary.. We loved the location, fishing, the riverfront, how private it is and the big yard. We enjoyed our stay and will be back again..

Good place.

Secluded and private. A 4WD vehicle, or an SUV are best for the last 2 turns into the property, especially if rain is in the forecast. The commonly used areas were clean, some of the usual oversights while cleaning are due for a deep cleaning.

Perfectly relaxing

I rented this cabin for my husband and I, for his 30th birthday. I selected it because if it seemed private. It was perfect. We got to quietly enjoy coffee while overlooking the beautiful river and mountains, while listening to the cows moo. The cabin had everything you could need to feel welcome and at home, just read your email about select required items. The drive and lane were a bit of a challenge in our civic. I would recommend a truck or suv. Only regret is not staying longer. From the view, to the cabin, to the trail it was perfect and relaxing.

Honeymoon Getaway

Overall our stay was nice. We had great weather, the house is in a great location secluded from everything but still conveniently located. The only issues we had were with the house itself, some cleaning definitely needs to be done, and the shower needs some work. However, as long as you aren't expecting a 5 star hotel and you aren't afraid of some cobwebs and bugs it is a great place! We didn't spend a lot if time indoors, so it didn't bother us to much. One funny side note, the door that goes out to a deck in the upstairs bedroom, the door knob was put on backwards, but at least the deadbolt was put on the right way! Over all it was an ok stay. The property was nice.

Perfect getaway

Easy check in process. Owner provided exactly what listing stated. Property was perfect. Views of river, mountains and sunrise were stunning. Property offered many fun things to do, yet very relaxing. Cabin is located in a remote area which means no low riding cars. Close to area attractions. Loved our stay.

A very nice secluded cabin right on the river. Perfect for fishing, and swimming. Cabin was clean and well stocked with needed kitchen utensils. This is the cabin to get away from other people when you need to just relax and enjoy nature.

The house had cobb webs everywhere, the shower head was clogged, the water had an awful smell. The only thing luxurious was a marble counter top. There was no pile of wood like in the description. The king bed was like sleeping on sheet of plywood. We went out a bought an air mattress. Great LOCATION 👍. That was the star of the show.

Peaceful and Secluded

This rental is the perfect place to relax and get away from everything. It's very Secluded but close enough for anything you may need. We enjoyed floating and fishing on the river. We were lucky enough to have nice weather for a bonfire and some star gazing! The owner was very accommodating and even allowed us a late check-out! We look forward to our next stay!

Amazing experience!

This property was everything as advertised and more! It was a great location right on the river. We went fishing, canoeing and sat at the campfire. It was only 6 miles from Luray so easy to go out and grab a bite to eat and then head back to our cabin. Already talking about returning next year!!!

Wonderful weekend get-away

This cabin is in a wonderful, remote location. The pictures don't capture how pretty the riverfront and the view of the mountains are. It is very secluded and you will not see other people except for some kayakers or canoeers passing by. We loved that the cabin came with a canoe. I would recommend bringing a fishing rod with you. The last stretch of road to the cabin is not paved. I think it is doable in a regular car, but I was glad we were in an SUV. We stayed here because of the JMU graduation (40 minute drive). We definitely plan to come back for a weekend get-away.

Enjoyable - would do it again!

We really enjoyed our time at the cabin. I would book it again in a heartbeat. My two boys (ages 4 and 8) had a blast and I enjoyed the peacefulness. Beds were comfortable and cabin was very clean when we arrived. Both beds are upstairs together in the loft space. It's older decor but seemed right since it's a rural rental and we came to spend our time outside the cabin. Even in rainy weather there are activities in Luray. Lindy, owner, was extremely nice and responsive.

Several days of chillin'

Hubby and I enjoyed our stay here at this river cabin SO much! It was a get-away for the two of us. There was jigsaw puzzling, kayaking, fishing, naps, and preparing some of our favorite meals. We both stay very busy with our jobs and cooking together is something we don't get to do as often as we'd like. The kitchen was very well stocked with dishes, mixing bowls, pots, and whatever we needed. The view with morning coffee was absolutely amazing! People in other reviews mentioned the water, so we took jugs of water for cooking, making coffee, and drinking. But we washed dishes and etc. with the water at the cabin. Perfect. Wifi and cell phones worked well. The downstairs TV may only get local channels, but those stations included tons of old movies to watch, reruns of shows we've missed, and reception was terrific! (Smart TV upstairs.) We hope to return one day!

Beautiful home!!! Very comfy beds, clean everything, centrally located for our needs.

The directions to get to the house were perfect was a little surprised how far off the main road everything was. Secluded, but safe. The Shenandoah River was beautiful backdrop. The stove and cooking appliances and utensils were perfect. The house was warm and cool, and comfortable. The washer and dryer worked perfectly. It was wonderful to call this place home for a few days.

Dated,Dirty and not as advertised.

Cabin was not as advertised. Outside was not as pictured I think the pictures on the site are more then 5 years old. View was minimal to say the least. Advertised a Propane grill and a charcoal grill also but only the rusted out propane grill was found. Under amenities I went to TV instructions It plainly states Satellite TV is available in the downstairs living area,and also a DVD player. Which was not the case either. No TV stations at all only DVD player with dated movies to watch because mother nature kept us inside. When I asked the owner she said it did not say that on the website?? The cabin was not clean either when we arrived it was smelly had to open the dirty windows to air it out. Found Mice droppings in the cabinets. Then had a mouse dancing around our feet later as we tried to watch a movie. Wallpaper peeling off the walls. I took plenty of pictures to prove my point also. We was suppose to stay Sunday,Monday and Tuesday night but ended up leaving Monday morning. Before I left I did take pictures of all the dirty things the owner insisted were clean and well turned out. I really wish I could upload the pictures on this review. Also there are two address`s on the details page for the property. Very,Very disappointed!!!!

Cozy River Hideaway

Loved this house from the minute we pulled down the gravel road and saw it and the river for the first time. The inside is comfy and cozy, the natural decor is perfect. Everything was clean and tidy. The kitchen is huge and great for cooking the many meals we prepared. Comfy bean bag and couch. Location right on the river was wonderful. Did some great fishing right off the bank. Long nature trail along the river was so fun. Lots of great local restaurants, stores, and the Luray Caverns. Most days though we were content just to stay at the house and be on river time relaxing. Will need to bring your own water to drink and I recommend a 4 wheel vehicle as well as a good pair of water sneakers to wear along the river. This is the place to relish in the beauty of nature and unwind. So happy we found it and got to spend a wonderful week here!
