The Historical Ripley House
Welcome to the historical Ripley House. Built in 1883 this gorgeous home was renovated in 2018. A beautiful balance of historical and modern charm, this home is a fantastic place for friends and multiple family generations to gather and a perfect location for holidays.

From the first floor you can ascend the grand staircase to the second floor (or take the old "Servant's stairwell" back stairwell). Here you will find four bedrooms and two full bathrooms. There are 3 extra sleeping additions up here if needed (Two couches/futons and a fold out single bed) Two of the bedrooms also have a small work space. This two story home doesn't end there. In the basement you will find an entertainment room, additional bedroom and additional sleeping, as well as a sauna, pool room, and standing area with wine fridge.

We loved our stay at the Ripley House. Beautiful property, well stocked home for all our needs. Hosted our family Thanksgiving in the house, and it was perfect - especially the table for 16!
Thank you so much. Would love to stay again in the future.
Our family had a great stay at the Ripley House! The home is beautiful and has been maintained in period style. Kids played hide-and-seek daily in this huge home. We had everything we needed to cook for our family as well. Rochelle (property manager) was able to help us with all of our needs.
The house was amazing Ann’s exciting. Except for small issues I will recommend this property to my friends and family in Montague. I am a clean freak so finding dirty vents, cobwebs, broken blinds on the entry door and the runner on the stairs bring loose. It was perfect for our needs.

My siblings and I wanted to surprise my parents with a weekend away for their 40th wedding anniversary. We used to spend a day every summer at Michigan's Adventure when we were children, so we had the idea to recreate the memory. Outside of the park, we didn't have an agenda but knew we wanted to maximize our time together - cooking meals and playing games. The Ripley House was the perfect fit. We had everything we needed and plenty of space to move in. There were several family friendly things to do in town and everything else was a short drive. We loved being able to walk to town and even more, loved immersing ourselves in the history of the Ripley family and their ties to Montague. We couldn't have asked for a better place to call home as a tribute to our growing family. Hot tip: Go to Lipka's soda fountain! It was the best stop. Mr. Ripley built the building and the family running the shop now has great stories to tell.
Great historic house. It was perfect for our large family gathering. Kids enjoyed playing hide and seek in the many rooms and closets. Very modern kitchen with top-of-the-line refrigerator, stove, and dishwasher. Very large dining table with additional seating at the counter in the kitchen and side sunroom. Large living room with plenty of seating. Downstairs is the TV room with a very large TV. Separate room with professional pool table. Also, a built-in sauna room. Upstairs there is a master ensuite King bedroom and two queen rooms. Most of the bedroom furniture reflects the age of the house. Overall, the perfect house for a large gathering. Plenty of parking for 4-5 vehicles. Within walking distance to downtown and the restaurants and bars. Only a 10-minute drive to very nice Lake Michigan beaches. Highly recommend this facility.
