Excellent condo for a relaxing vacation

This is an excellent condo that is well maintained and in a extremely nice development. The facilities were as advertised and the accommodations were fantastic. La Cruz is a small fishing village away from the overrun tourist areas like Puerto Vallarta and Sayulita. A very relaxing vacation. We'll definitely be back.

Stunning Bay View

Extremely well-equipped and very nicely furnished condo with a bay view that afforded us almost daily whale-watching opportunities. The grounds are immaculate and the Beach Club and Jungle Pools are great places to spend a day. Chris, the owner, was quick to respond to our every need. Truly a beautiful place and highly recommended.

Wonderful small-town Mexico Experience

The condo was nice and clean and spacious. The beds were very comfortable and we slept great! The club by the beach is really nice for private beach access and a large pool where you can order food and drinks or just relax without pressure to buy anything. The food there is really good and reasonably priced. The town itself is quaint and not as touristy as most, but there are lots of good restaurants to choose from and there are nice trips available out on the water for fishing or sightseeing.

Stunning property

The property is gorgeous, the condo was clean and a minor issue was addressed right away. We loved watching the whales breach from the patio. The only thing that could be a little clearer in the listing is that the beach was somewhere between 1/2 mile-3/4 mile away and the trek back to the condo includes a long steep hill so if you’re not fairly fit you’ll struggle a bit going back up, a golf cart would be really helpful for the older less fit crowd. Christine was very responsive and welcoming and it’s the perfect location if you want out of the hustle and bustle of the city.

Wow! What an incredible place. It was so clean and well equipped. The view from the balcony from both bedrooms was spectacular, and we watched fireworks for New Years Eve from the balcony. What a treat. We enjoyed the pool right at the condo as well as the beautiful beach club, where there was a restaurant, nice pool with varying depths so our 1 year old could play. The food at the beach club was okay and fairly on par with other places. We walked into La Cruz for dinner (about 15 min walk). The walk up the hill to the condo was okay for us but if you have issues with hills, I’d suggest another alternative or take a taxi/uber. Getting groceries we bussed (just at the foot of the hill little vans come frequently, about 15 pesos) into Bucerias, then we uberred back. Our biggest challenge was getting the water up the hill. Kind of wished for a drinking water unit in the condo, but we managed. You can drink the water but we preferred not to. With a family and baby stuff the owner helped us by telling us to call the gatehouse and they arranged a van taxi. It was around 1200 pesos to the PVR airport. The airport was a nightmare, not enough traffic controllers, so I’d say at least 3 hours was needed for our January 2026 stay. I can’t enough about how wonderful Christine the host was. We had an issue with the garbage disposal which was fixed that day. We will definitely come again.

Holiday getaway

Overall an amazing experience. From watching whales in the bay from the balcony to seeing the entire skyline light up at night. Fireworks on the 31st were abundant throughout the bay and the balcony offered a great viewing spot. Our favorite for the week was the beach club and private beach. We spent several days down there. We also loved the town of LaCruz and the Sunday market was outstanding. Christine was easy to work with and even checked in on us during our stay. Would definitely recommend to families looking for something private, peaceful and away from the hustle of Sayulita, Bucerias, or PV.

we had sent an email to the owner requesting some compensation for the issues that we had experienced but we received a reply back suggesting that the issues were our fault ! not a good way to treat renters !

Beautiful View

We wanted to stay in a quiet, less touristy town for this visit to Mexico. La Cruz didn’t have much happening the week we were there and it was pretty sleepy. Just what we wanted! The other Alamar owners/guests were very friendly. Beach club was excellent although the pool temperatures were a bit too warm. I loved their ceviche and tacos. Be sure to ask about happy hour since it will save you 50% off. (It was 3:30-4:30 when we visited) We hit Mega foods on the way to the condo and were so grateful that we did that since it’s quite a walk to get food anywhere near the condo. Just ask the taxi driver at the airport to add another hour for waiting. Bring large jugs of water and a bag of ice upon arrival. Found some wonderful restaurants. Try La Peska or Ala Braza. Look for Mario’s on Delfin street for the best grocery selection. Go to the fish market for amazing fresh fish. We walked to those places and took a taxi back. Although if you stay out too late it’s impossible to find a taxi so one night we had to walk back on the highway after listening to a wonderful band at the Green Tomate. No regrets!

The condo is beautiful perfect for our family of 3. Both bathrooms have great views of the ocean.

We have a wonderful time. Christine our host was very friendly and provided us with details information to make our stay a very nice one. The condos provided everything we need and more. We did not do any cooking but if you do, the condos have all the necessary spices, oil, and vinegar to make a meal. There are lots of restaurants in Cruz, and very close drive to punts Mitas, Sayulitas, and Pancho. These places have great beaches for surfing, snorkeling, and whale watching tours. If you don’t like crowd you can rent your own private tour. We did that in Punta Mita and have a great time. The only thing you need for this place is a car to get around.

Three Months in Paradise

Our stay from January through March of 2021 at Christine's condo (Alamar, Amura Tower, 304B) was the best vacation my husband and I have ever had. The unit was spectacular and the view is beyond what words can describe...Bahia de Banderas, whales during the day and the city lights of Puerto Vallarta at night...not to speak of the pangas and sailboats that grace the bay every day. We fell in love with the charming fishing village of La Cruz De Huanacaxtle that has not only great local cuisine at street cafes but also a 5***** restaurant right in the heart of the village (Masala's). We have already reserved time in 2022 and can't wait to go back. Truly a vacation of a lifetime.

Fabulous Property!

We stayed at this beautiful condo for 6 weeks and couldn’t have been happier! The condo is spacious, has beautiful views, is well stocked with cookware, dishes, condiments, bedding and towels. The 2 pools are heated which was a bonus! The town of La Cruz is quaint, friendly, and has plenty of restaurants and activities within walking distance. I highly recommend this condo!

Amazing view and lovely place to relax

Our family of five had a wonderful stay here. The condo is beautiful, large, and relaxing with an awesome view of the bay. We enjoyed eating breakfast and on the deck especially. The beach club was a nice break from our beach hopping also. We would happily stay again. Christine was a great host, very on top of things!

Why they chose this property

We selected the Alamar resort for three reasons--location, location, location. We have been vacationing and working in Mexico for over 20 years and decided to purchase at Alamar because of its close proximity to the new world-class Marina Riviera Nayarit, the great reputation of the builders (Grupo Real del Mar) and the town's safety and proximity to both Puerto Vallarta and Punta de Mita. Purchasing north of Puerto Vallarta gave us less traffic congestion and more of the 'peace and quiet' of Mexico that we were looking for. With our charter boat located in the new marina, we couldn't imagine being anywhere else. What really made up our minds are the incredible views we enjoy from the property on which the Alamar Resort is located and the extra amenities on site. Whether inside our outside, we love what we see and do here!

What makes this property unique

Grupo Real del Mar did a terrific job when they designed and built the Alamar Resort. The quality of the construction in excellent, all water is filtered, the property has 24 hour security and we never worry when we are staying in our unit or traveling throughout the quaint town of La Cruz. Having two choices for swimming is terrific--sometimes we walk out our back door to the very convenient Jungle Club pool which we also enjoy lighted at night or we can also choose to head to the Beach Club and have the whole place to ourselves! What could be better? We have found the reception/security staff at Alamar to be friendly, helpful and courteous. This property is completely safe, secure and gorgeous!
