About this property
Casa la Oro en Bahía de Banderas - Ocean Front Casa
🏠 Welcome to Casa La Copa de Oro, nestled between the charming towns of La Cruz de Huanacaxtle and Bucerias in Mexico! Just a short 25-minute drive (taxi ride) from PVR airport, our oceanfront Villa offers the perfect blend of traditional Mexican design with a touch of conveniences. Here you will take in a simpler life… if you are lucky you will enjoy sites of some of the largest iguanas, relax with sounds of local chickens (a Roster or 2) in the area and maybe… just maybe a donkey or two, a horse here and there walking on the streets. You will be able to find a little getaway of escape with us. As, our Villa is nested of the beaten path… yet close enough for a short taxi ride to either Bucerias or La Cruz within a 3-5 minute taxi ride.
Once you step into our casa, you will be greeted by an updated kitchen. Accommodating up to 8 guests across three bedrooms, our spacious traditional Mexican retreat promises relaxation and enjoyment on the shores of Banderas Bay away from the Hustle of normal life.
With a private pool and direct beach access, you can unwind against the backdrop of the famous Banderas Bay with view in the distance of the surrounding pueblos (towns). Explore the 25-mile coastline, discovering hidden gems and unspoiled beaches to the North, or take a leisurely stroll to Bucerias or La Cruz's marina when tide is low.
Experience the vibrant culture and atmosphere of "traditional Mexico" with a dash of todays conveniences in the Mexican Riviera. In La Cruz, shop at the outdoor fish and farmers market or sip drinks while watching sailboats come and go.
To the south, the bustling town of Bucerias awaits, offering a plethora of restaurants, boutiques, and authentic Mexican cuisine. Don't miss the opportunity to indulge in handmade tacos or sample churros from the Centro de Bucerias, just a short taxi ride away.
Whether you prefer taxi services or renting a car, exploring the Bay of Banderas is an experience of a lifetime. Please note that our small neighborhood, the Tizate Villas, consists of seven villas. Local laws require the yard and concrete path to be shared common areas for villa guests to access the beach, so feel free to use the steps at the seawall to access the beaches and bay.
We invite you to make memories at Casa La Copa de Oro, where the sun, sand, and sea await your arrival! 🌴☀️🌊

We really enjoyed staying at this property! Jesica, the person who managed the property for the owner was really helpful and made sure we had everything we needed. The views were amazing too!
This is a really nice place on the bay. A really well appointed kitchen. Everything you would need. Whale sightings right out the back

Dennis;
Thank-you for your review. We really try to accommodate! The back yard, leading to the beach are one of our prides of the house. I am glad you and your family were able to relax and enjoy the house and the whale sightings. Hope to see you all soon!

Communication with the host and property manager was smooth and accurate - we had no unexpected surprises upon arrival. The house was just as expected - only more enchanting to actually BE there, poolside, looking over the ocean! We felt relaxed and comfortable with the accommodations and appreciated Jessica’s thorough check in and attention to any questions we asked about recommendations for food and activities while there. This trip was to celebrate our daughter’s birthday and relax with family and it didn’t disappoint - coffee, beer, or mimosas poolside while the kids splashed in the pool, then walks on the beach … all possible OUT THE BACK DOOR! Access to numerous beaches, golfing, restaurants, and spas was within minutes of a drive. And if we didn’t want to eat out, the kitchen is wonderfully equipped for dining in! This was a trip worth repeating! Thank you!!!
My Husband and I spent a week with our oldest Son and his spouse. This home was exactly what we were looking for to be away from the hustle and bustle of PV. Communication with the Property Manager and Owner was fantastic. We would definitely stay here again!
The view from Casa la Oro is gorgeous!! We loved watching the sunrises from the balcony and the backyard. Jesica was great! The landscapers locked us out a couple times and she was available both and came to let us in the house. Branden was easy to be reach at and very friendly.Neighborhood felt very safe and a lot of restaurants nearby. We loved the house and location. Overall, we had a great experience and can’t wait to be back!
Photos and description of the property are accurate. It is an attractive, comfortable, well-stocked vacation home with gorgeous views and a convenient location to take in the sights and activities in the Banderas Bay Area. Mexican features like the neighbour's rooster, visiting iguanas, geckos , oyster fishermen and whales in the Bay add to the charm of the place. Updates like the renovated kitchen, bathrooms, large sectional, multi-channelled big screen TV and heated pool as well as the responsiveness of owner Branden and property manager Jesica were much appreciated too.
The house was in a peaceful location, had everything we needed, had a fantastic kitchen, and a beautiful pool. The only gripe we have is that the grill is not working, even though we bought meat to grill.

Elizabeth;
Thank you for choosing Casa La Copa de Oro! We're glad you enjoyed your stay and found many of the pleasures of our oceanfront house relaxing.
We apologize for any inconvenience you experienced with the BBQ. During my last visit, it was working well. However, in Mexico, the temperature can vary significantly, and sometimes the heat and sun exposure can cause the propane in the tank to expand and drain. To prevent this, we store the tank in the laundry room of the house. Guests can simply place it by the grill or contact Jesica, who can come by and hook it up for you.
We will update our “Welcome Letter” to include these instructions for future guests. Again, thank you for staying with us, and we look forward to welcoming you back on your next visit!
Best regards,
Branden Beier
We loved our stay at Casa la Oro! Excellent and quick communication with both Branden and Jessica. The pool is heated to a perfectly warm temperature which allowed for evening swims. Iguanas & hummingbirds visited us daily in the yard and saw turtles in the mornings from the patio set while sipping coffee and catching the stunning sunrises. You can walk along the beach and even swim right outside the backyard, water shoes are recomended. The casa is equipped with ample towels & linens. The beds and pillows were comfortable. Only used the AC 1 day and it worked great. We didn't cook much but used the brand new grill 1 evening (could not find grill tools or cleaning brush however so had to use elbow grease). We did experience a power outage for a few hours one evening and could not find any battery operated lanterns or flashlights. It would have been nice to have a kit that is easily accessible and clearly labelled and stocked for such instances as the neighbours indicated this is a common occurance. This small inconvenience is my only critique. We were not bothered by the roosters as we found if all doors are closed, including the bathroom door it really drowns out the noise. The internet can be spotty but that was not a problem for us. We truly enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay again and recommend to family & friends. Thank you Branden and Jessica!
Firstly the owner and property manager were extremely helpful with any questions or requirements. You won't find better people. Oceanfront with a good size pool, spacious rooms with large beds are the pluses. If I had to choose a negative it would be the location if you want to to do a lot of beach walking or walk to nearest towns of Bucerias and LaCruz. No swimmable beach near and only walkable at low tide. However certainly not a deal breaker . It fit our needs perfectly.
We have friends who live in LaCruz, one of which lives in the condos at the top of the hill above this condo and they told us this area is a very safe place to stay. We never felt uncomfortable staying in, coming or going, day or night. For those of you who have never been to LaCruz or Mexico, never traveled outside your zip code or the US please remember that you are going to Mexico to experience a different life style. Which is so enjoyable... the shopping, day cruises, beach, food, spas, massages, and entertainment is amazing! Most days were spent at the condo in the pool looking over the waters... AMAZING views! You will see amazing sunrises and sleep wonderfully! As for the roosters, we never heard them with the a/c running and the noise machines on in the rooms. We had an AMAZING vacay and I could only wish that we could own a place like this. Enjoy... I know you will! And many thanks to Jessica, the property manager... she's amazing! Thank you Brandon for sharing your little piece of heaven, the property was picture perfect... everything we dreamed of!
We enjoyed our time at the house and would come back and stay again in the future. Both the owner and manager were very prompt in responsiveness to any issues we had during our stay and made things right if we were inconvenienced.
The sunrises are gorgeous, but unfortunately you don't get the sunsets from the property. The yard is an amazing place to relax, soak in the sun, and stare at the water.
The house is in average condition for its age but perfectly useful. It was our honeymoon so it was just my wife and I, but the house is large enough for a family or two to vacation together while everyone being able to have their own space.
The roosters across the street are loud and loud early. We bought a white noise machine and that seemed to help drown them out. We did have to leave the doors closed at night with the white noise machine to sleep which was one of the only unfortunate things. We would have enjoyed falling asleep and waking up to the waves crashing and the sliding glass doors open.
We were able to get connected to a couple of cab drivers while there and never had any issue arranging for a cab no matter where we were headed or what time we needed them. The towns of Bucerias and La Cruz are 5 minute rides so enjoying the towns was no hassle.
Its a charming place. It has its perks and it has its downfalls but a good value considering the space and the views.

Leo,
It was a pleasure working with you! Both my wife and I feel very blessed you both choose our house to celebrate your honeymoon and making memories of a life time!
You are so correct the sun rises are very beautiful and as we had recommended for those that may be lote sleepers we have purchased devices for each room to help with those morning the very friendly and welcoming rooster chooses to help you enjoy those beautiful sunrises!
My family also enjoys the oceanfront home, we find the tranquility of the crashing waves against the seawall, and on the beachfront, so relaxing for our souls.
Hope to see you both back soon and thank you for choosing Casa la Copa de Oro!
We booked the property for a vacation with family of 6. Owner was always great and responsive during communication and also when we requested a couple of additional days.
Check in and departure were exceptional with property manager Jesica. She was also very responsive and accommodating. She even helped us with a great Mexican dinner one night as a chef friend of hers was in town!
Positives:
-Big unit with lots of room in quiet neighborhood
-1 room, 1 bath and the kitchen have been renovated
-property manager and owner are great
-wifi was good for mexican standards but poor range upstairs
-great sunrise
-sounds of waves in 2 of the bedrooms at night
-ceiling fans and a/c were great
-bedding and sheets were great
-overall cleanliness was good
Negatives:
-rest of unit needs renovated, unit showing it's age
-southeast facing so no sunsets and not much sun at pool from mid afternoon on
-transportation can be painful if relying on cab, the street leading in doesn't have a name
-hot water was hit and miss
-roosters close by in neighbors compound wake you up
Overall for the price, i'd be looking somewhere else...I know it's tough to find a decent place for a family of 6. This suits the need but would be better at a lower price.
I'd rate it as a 3 star property with potential of 4 if all renovations complete. The area is a 3 star because of the transportation issues and roosters. The property owner and manager 5 star for great communications and accommodations of our needs.

Thank you for your positive feedback on the spaciousness of Casa la Copa de Oro, the tranquility of the neighborhood and the exceptional customer service you received. Our guests’ comfort is our top priority!
We also thank-you for bringing the WiFi connectivity issues on the 2nd floor to our attention, we have replaced the WiFi extender and it appears that has corrected the poor range issue upstairs.
Unfortunately, your frustration with street signage and sunset positioning are beyond our control. However, in an effort to assist, we do provide very detailed navigation language in our ‘Welcome Letter”. We hope this information was helpful.
In terms of pricing, we’ve carefully considered the unique features of our beachfront property with 3 bedrooms, 3 full bathrooms and a private pool - a rare find. We’re glad you noticed the recent renovations, blending traditional Mexican charm with modern amenities.
We remain committed to providing a memorable experience at Casa de Copa de Oro and we hope to welcome you back soon!

The house and grounds are great. The pool is not heated but was generally warm enough and quite big . The beds and linens are great and there are plenty of towels. The owner and house manager are both quick and responsive.
Accessing the bay is not straightforward. To get to the beach you have to either go around the complex and down some steep rocks or you need to go through to the neighbours property and cross their patio and yard. While it is legal, this made us uncomfortable especially if the neighbours were outside.
I asked the owner if the beach is swimmable since this was very important to us. He told us to wear water shoes but that it was. It is not. There are large piles of slippery, baseball size rocks to walk over to get out far enough to swim. We worried about the waves throwing us into the bigger rocks. We tried a few different spots but in the end we went to Bucerias to swim. The owner said the rocks were brought in by a hurricane a few months ago but it appeared they have been there for much longer than that.
And the roosters were indeed relentless. There were no noise canceling machines in the rooms during our stay.
We rented a car. It is close to Bucerias and La Cruz but found it so much easier to get around especially because you can’t just pop into a shop. Beware added mandatory insurance when renting a car in Mexico though.
For my 60th birthday I wanted to sit in a pool, have a drink with my friends and look out at the sea. Mission accomplished!
