About this property
Canyon Wren Cottage, a True Couples Retreat
A couples’ retreat, the Canyon Wren Cottage is sculpted into bedrock amongst pinion pines and old growth mountain mahogany brush. A picturesque erosion sculpted sandstone monolith rises four stories at the edge of the yard, just beyond the cottage. The approach to the cottage from Teasdale Road, is down a short lane crossing through woodland fringed meadow with a wetland on one side and alfalfa cultivation on the other. The backdrop is beautiful rock form, including a large balanced rock.

Great basecamp for exploring Capitol Reef and SanRafael Swell. Shops and restaurants for food and essentials are within a short drives distance. House was very clean and well kept. Kitchen had all essentials.

Beautiful house in a stunning setting, very individual & beautifully crafted.Everything was as described. Spotlessly clean, good facilities & instructions.Highly recommend
Location was amazing! Structure built by owner is beautiful and tasteful, matching the local vibe. Everything about this place was great. Might wanna snake out the sink drains, as they were nearly completely blocked and drained very slowly, but that's minimal stuff, and easily fixed. Shifting back to positivity, this place did not disappoint. Location is CRAZY COOL. I saw a California Condor fly right over the property. Would 100% stay here again.
We enjoyed our 2 night stay. There was not much communication with the host, so I can't speak to that. We enjoyed the location and privacy. Cozy is the word to use for Canyon Wren. Very nice location to visit Capitol Reef.
Beautiful location. Lovely home, clean, perfect get away spot.
We enjoyed relaxing in this cozy home away from home. We enjoyed the views. We appreciated the uniqueness of this hand crafted and beautifully decorated home.
I rarely post reviews for homes I've stayed in. This home was so clean and well taken care of that I have to give it a review. The home was well built, in great condition with everything you would need. Did I mention it was clean, lol. Perfect for a couple, will definitely rent this one again.
Owners have gone the extra mile to make this vacation rental comfortable and attractive with a sophisticated western decorative theme. It is well located for a visit to Capitol Reef National Park and offers a quiet, beautiful location away from the crowds. I'd go back anytime.
This really was an ideal property to wake up in and return to after a day of exploring the area. Evenings were peaceful and quiet, mornings bright. We’d definitely stay here again and had nothing about the rental that we’d change.
This is a wonderful little place ideal for a couple visiting Capital Reef National Park. The location is quiet and secluded but only about 20 minutes from the national park visitor centre. Torrey is about 10 minutes away with an interesting selection of places to eat plus a general store for any essentials. The property is very clean and comfortable with everything you might need for a few days away. I have nothing bad to say at all, it fitted our needs perfectly and was a great place to relax after hiking around Capitol Reef all day. Thank you for the great memories.
We enjoyed our stay very much. Such a beautiful abode in a beautiful spot. Loved the art work on the walls, Mother Natures work out the windows and the use of knarly wood inside. Brought along our own Christmas tree. The place was well equipped and comfortable and close to the park.
Fantastic Place to Stay Near Capitol Reef National Park
What a great place to stay, with beautiful views and quite surroundings. The kitchen has everything you need and the bed was very comfortable. The internet worked fine and the television was large. The unique custom wood work inside was very impressive.Less than a 5 minute drive to the town of Torrey, Utah which has numerous restaurants and places to buy groceries. Capitol Reef was about 10 minutes away and an easy drive.I'd stay here again in a heart beat.
Great place to stay if you are looking to enjoy Capital Reef National Park and surrounding areas. House was clean and comfortable for the 2 of us. Host communicated well but had no problems while we were there. Lots of privacy, stocked kitchen, comfortable bed and 2 bathrooms, 1 up,1 down. Teasdale didn't have much to offer but Torrey was only 5 miles away with everything you need in a quant town setting. Food was great, ATV rental was fun, but canyon hiking is not easy!! Some of the most beautiful country I've seen. We already want to go back.
We loved our weekend stay at this property. Great location. Went back and forth to the park numerous times. The inside was clean and was a great set up. I could not complain about anything besides the clutter outside the cabin but that is what country life is about! Cannot wait to come back and stay again! Property Manager was amazing and responed quickly when we had questions.
The place was great and quite comfortable. The only issue was all of the wall lights downstairs flickered quite a lot and made for a poor experience for relaxing and watching TV. Perhaps the light bulbs weren’t of the dimmable type, which is required when on a dimmable switch. Otherwise we found the location for getting to the park and the town of Torrey great.
We almost hate to give this place such a high rating as we hope to be back soon and feel it will become more and more popular. It's very small but cozy. Perfect for a couple but would be tight for more and someone would need to sleep on the coach or floor. Abundant supplies for kitchen and cleaning. We heard it recently changed hands so hope nothing changes, e.g, price or availability.
What a gem!!! We would definitely recommend this lovely cottage/cabin. The covered porch and outdoor seating area are wonderful. The interior was so pretty and clean. Alice informed us that the gentleman next door built it and did the incredible wood craftsmanship on the interior. We were visiting national parks on this trip and got rained out one afternoon - what a treat to have satellite tv. Top notch - definitely recommend.
