Make this newly constructed home on 5,000 acre Lac Courte Oreilles (LCO) Lake your next vacation getaway. You will be amazed by the incredible views of the lake from the covered and wrap around deck and the open concept main floor living area. This lake home we call "Whispering Pines" is situated in a small bay at the northeast corner of Lac Courte Oreilles Lake, and just a short boat ride (or snowmobile or ATV ride) to Trails End Resort. Picture this - after a full day on the water you come back to the cabin and send the kids to do some fishing at the private dock while you sip on your favorite cocktail and watch them from the deck. You fire up the Blackstone cast iron gas grill and cook up a feast as eagles soar overhead (We do have resident eagles in the neighborhood) and the kids play in the yard. Then after dinner you head to the lakefront fire pit for some smores and star gazing as you listen to the waves lap against the shore. This is the lakefront home you're looking for.
Don't forget your binoculars. It's common to see eagles soaring over this home and swooping down to the water below. There are also multiple pairs of nesting loons on the lake, so the call of the loon often can be heard while watching a sunset by the lakeside firepit.
The main floor of the home features a roomy kitchen, dining area and large living room with a large comfortable sectional leather couch and amazing gas fireplace complete with a remote control. The front of the house is almost all glass and has two oversized sliding glass doors, a vaulted pine ceiling and large triangle shaped windows that let in the sunlight and frame the breathtaking views of the lake below. This amazing lake home also features a lower level walkout living room with two more oversized patio doors, a ping pong table, and additional living room with two recliners and another comfortable leather couch so even large families have room to spread out and relax. All the televisions in the home are smart TV's and are preloaded with the Spectrum App to watch local television from our local cable provider or you can log into your streaming channel of choice and binge your favorite series. The home also features blazing fast Wi-Fi for those rainy days or those of you looking to "Work from home" with a new lake view.
The kitchen area has everything you need to cook and serve meals for up to 12 guests. The appliances are all new and the home has both a drip and Keurig coffee maker. The grill is a 36 inch 4 burner Blackstone complete with cooking utensils. The Blackstone grills allow you to not only cook tender steaks but also cook up bacon and hash browns or even pancakes while taking in the lake views in the morning. I love cooking breakfast on this large flat grill. The deck features comfortable Adirondack chairs and a large outdoor dining table as well.
Bedroom Configurations: -Main Level Master - King Bed - On suite Bath -Main Level Guest Room - Queen Bed -Main Level Guest Room - Queen Bed and Full Bed -Lower Level Guest Room - Queen Bed and Full Bed -Lower Level Guest Room - Two Twin Beds -Full Guest Bathroom on each floor with Tub and Shower Combo
NOTE - This home rents for full weeks only during the busy season from Friday to Friday. The water around the dock is sandy and clear and excellent for swimming with a nice gradual drop off. Like we mentioned this home is new and construction was just finished in late fall of 2022.
Lac Courte Oreilles lake is a fully recreational lake with several bars and restaurants you can boat to right on the lake as well as a large sandbar that is a popular place to hang out in the summer. The lake is a large and spring-fed lake and is the largest lake in the county. LCO is known for excellent fishing, sailing, exploring and water sports. For you winter sports enthusiasts, one of the main snowmobile trails in the area runs across the lake right out in front of this cabin and you can access the trails right from our cabin. The ice fishing is also typically very good with crappie bite typically good right out in front of our cabin. We also have access to the ATV trails just down the road with trailing. You can hit the trails right from our home and explore hundreds of miles of county forest and trail networks. The home features parking for trucks and trailers. This home is brand new construction and was just finished in the late fall of 2022 and comes with a firepit, wide gravel walkway to the lakefront and access to a 30 foot private dock.
One of our favorite things about LCO is the sand bars. There are several of them that are just a short boat ride from the house. We love to anchor and walk around the sand bars and swim. The sandy bottom and gradual drop offs make it an ideal place for young kids to wade and have fun in the water.
This lake front home is located approximately 9 miles south of the city of Hayward. It's about 140 miles northeast of the Twin Cities Metro area. The Hatchery Creek Trailhead (Birkie Trail and CAMBA mountain Bike Trail) access is also approximately 8 miles from the cabin. There is a casino nearby as well as several wineries.
Parking- you can park up to 4 cars as well as several boat trailers at the cabin. Sorry, we do not allow camping in RVs on the property or tents.

Thanks, Ben! We’re glad everything was as advertised and that the check-in and check-out process was smooth for you. It’s great to hear you enjoyed your stay, and we’d love to have you back anytime!

We had a wonderful stay at Whispering Pines. The space fit our family (8 adults and 3 children) perfectly. Plenty of common space for shared time, as well as smaller areas for the kids to play. Blackstone flat top grill was perfect for cooking for our large group meals. The gravel path down from the cabin to the firepit and dock was a bit steep and challenging, especially at night. But overall, we were very pleased, and would definitely come back again!
We have been renting cabins on this lake for a few years now and this is the second time we rented this particular cabin. We love the room the cabin has and it has everything we need. Only negative is the steep hill down to the lake. It’s a good workout and fortunately we have a few young adults able to carry the coolers up and down otherwise I’m not sure how we’d manage.

Hi there,
Thanks so much for staying with us again—it really means a lot to have returning guests like you! We're glad the cabin had everything you needed and that the space worked well for your group.
Totally understand your note about the hill—it's a bit of a leg workout, but as you said, it's still easier than the steep staircases at a lot of cabins on the lake. A few of our guests have actually brought golf carts or UTVs to help with the trip up and down, so if you have access to something like that, it can make things a lot easier.
We appreciate you taking the time to leave a review and hope to see you again next season!
All the best,
Jon B. and the Manage Cabins Crew
Thank you for choosing our cabin as your fall getaway! We're thrilled you enjoyed the beautiful fall setting—there’s really nothing like the colors and peacefulness in Hayward this time of year. Hope we get the chance to welcome you back for more seasons to come!
Warm regards,
Jon B. and the Manage Cabins Crew
Lovely large house that fit our group of 9 adults, 2 kids and a toddler well. House was well stocked for supplies and we liked having the blackstone grill, dishwasher, washer and dryer. Great views of the eagles nest. Kids appreciated playing at the beach and fishing from the dock. Cabin is on a steep hill as noted, but wasn't an issue for our group.
Thank you, Tara, for your kind words! We're so glad you had an amazing time. We hope to welcome you back for another stay soon!

The location and layout was wonderful. We had to do a small adjustment of a chair and table, and there were quite a few asian beetles, but overall, a very nice place that we would stay at again.

Thank you so much for sharing your experience at our Lacourte Orellies lakefront home! We’re thrilled that you loved the location and layout—it truly is a special spot with those lake views. Apologies for the beetles; with the change of seasons, they can be tricky to keep out, but we’ll definitely stay on top of it to ensure our guests are as comfortable as possible. We’d love to have you back anytime!
Warm regards,
Jon B. and the Manage Cabins Crew
Great place to stay with good friends down the lake.
The accommodations where great and the views are spectacular. The only complaint we had was there were no kitchen or bath towels supplied.

Thank you for your feedback, Thomas! We're thrilled that you and your friends enjoyed the accommodations and those spectacular views. I’m sorry about the inconvenience with the towels. Like many places in the area, we ask guests to bring their own bath towels to help manage cleaning costs, but we’ll be sure to make this clearer in the future. We do have towels available for an extra fee, though most guests prefer to bring their own. We hope to welcome you back soon!

Excellent property. Clean. We had 2, four place trailers and 2, two place trailers. Ample parking. Kitchen well equipped. Highly recommend this property. Loved the living room and the view.
The cabin was really nice! Loved the big deck for watching sunsets. It worked well for our family with kids and grandchildren. Great location too. We spent a lot of time on the sandbar. Jon and his team were great to work with from start to finish. Highly recommend!

The house was perfect for two double family trip. Access to the UTV trails is easy and we rented a boat from Trails End one day to get out on the water. The lake is very clean and clear. As others said, there is a little bit of a hill to get down to the water, but it has a gravel trail and is easy to maneuver.

We're delighted to hear the house was perfect for your double-family trip and that you enjoyed the easy access to the UTV trails and boat rental from Trails End. It's great to know you found the lake clean and clear.
We appreciate your note about the hill down to the water and are glad the gravel trail made it easy to navigate. We hope to welcome you back for another fantastic stay soon!

We loved our stay at the cabin. It was clean and spacious. Many reviews talked about the steep hill down to the lake and the fire pit. As a group of 10 that are aged 58-72, we all navigated it just fine. Only thing we would recommend is that bath towels would be provided, and that’s not that big of a deal to bring.

Hi Maren,
Thank you so much for your kind review! We’re thrilled to hear that your group enjoyed the cabin’s cleanliness and spaciousness, and it’s great to know that the hill down to the lake wasn’t a challenge for your group. We understand the convenience of having bath towels provided—because the commercial laundry is a bit of a drive, we ask guests to bring their own to help with costs. Some towels are available for a small fee, but most guests prefer to bring their own.
We’d love to welcome you all back anytime!

The location was fantastic and the property was great! The management was also wonderful to work with. We rented the pontoon which was great for relaxing and fishing. If we were to change one thing would be to have the fire pit up by the house, the hill is a little hard which made some of our guests decide to not go down by the fire at night.

Hi Kari, Thanks for the nice review and for the suggestion on the fire pit. Will look at options for that.
Jon
My family had a wonderful time at the home. Dock was just large enough to dock the pontoon. Yard leading to house is steep, but certainly manageable. Sand bar across the water from the house was great and Trails End just down the lake was excellent for afternoon sand play for the kids.

So glad you enjoyed your stay John. The yard is a bit steep but you have to agree the views are amazing! Hope to see you again soon!
Very nice property. One minor issue is the steep hill. For older people it might be a problem

Wow, thanks for the great review! We're thrilled you loved our property. And hey, we totally get it – steep hills can be a challenge, especially for our wiser and more experienced guests. We felt the 6 foot wide gravel walking made lake access easier than a bunch of stairs like a lot of cabins in the area. Your feedback means the world to us, and we can't wait to welcome you back for another awesome stay!
The house is beautiful and worked well for us. The walk down and up to the lake very hard to walk. No swimming area in front just mountains of weeds. The lady who was in charge was very nice and helpful

Thank you for choosing Manage Cabins, LLC and for sharing your feedback. We're thrilled to hear that you found the house beautiful and that it worked well for your stay.
Regarding the lakefront, we appreciate your comments, and we want to clarify the situation. We take great pride in maintaining our properties and regularly cleaning up the lakefront areas. What you experienced is not typical, and we apologize for any inconvenience caused by the weed growth.
The area off the dock is generally quite sandy, and we work diligently to minimize any weed growth around the dock. While the shore might not be a sandy beach, we strive to ensure our guests can enjoy a pleasant and enjoyable time at the waterfront.
Your feedback is invaluable to us, and we will use it to further improve our guests' experiences. We hope you had an otherwise wonderful stay, and we'd be more than happy to welcome you back in the future to showcase the true beauty of our lakefront.
Beautiful home. The only thing that we would suggest is for the house to be a little cleaner. There were Quite a few Asian dead bugs laying on the floor upstairs and downstairs. Otherwise it was very nice. We did enjoy that property management checked in on us often to see if we needed anything. That was very nice.

Hi there,
Thank you so much for your kind review and for staying at our 5-bedroom Lacourte Orellies lakefront home. We're thrilled to hear you enjoyed the beautiful home and the amazing lake views.
We appreciate your feedback regarding cleanliness and apologize for the oversight. Unfortunately, in the early spring, it can only take a day or two for the beetles to come out in force. Our dedicated cleaning crew will be informed to ensure this is addressed for future guests. It’s wonderful to know that our property management team was attentive and checked in on you during your stay.
We hope to welcome you back for another visit soon!
Best regards,

Wonderful house on gorgeous lake. Short distance to Hayward activities or anything else you need. House has excellent TVs and WiFi and everything you need in kitchen. Lots of parking, we had three boat trailers and 4 trucks. One significant downside side is the huge hill to get to the pier and waterfront. Everything was wonderful but the hill to get to my boat or waterfront is a detriment to return. Manager of property is excellent and responsive.

Hi Cary,
Thank you for your review! We're glad to hear you enjoyed the house, the gorgeous lake, and the convenient location near Hayward. It's great that the TVs, WiFi, kitchen setup, and parking worked well for your group—sounds like you made the most of your time!
We understand the hill to the pier can be a challenge, especially when accessing the boat and waterfront. The view from the top is amazing, and while the path might be a bit easier to navigate than steps, we know it can still be a bit of a trek. We appreciate your feedback and will keep it in mind as we continue to improve.
Thank you for your kind words about our property management. We'd love to welcome you back if you ever decide to return!
Best regards,
Jon B. and the Manage Cabins Crew
The cabin was beautiful, more than enough space. Had everything that we needed. I gave four stars because the basement doesn't have heating piped in so the heat depended on how warm it was upstairs. The first night we had the fireplace on upstairs, which led to zero heat in the basement and it was freezing, where all of our upstairs guests were overheating. The second day we did not turn on the fireplace, which made the basement much more comfortable - but we were unable to enjoy the fire. I'm guessing during the summer it would be a non issue. My family also left a sweatshirt behind. Although they were gracious enough to mail it back, it cost $50, due to time, mileage, and supplies needed, but still felt excessive. Overall, it is a wonderful space for the 12 of us to spend time together, and we would return.

Thank you for your thoughtful feedback and for choosing to stay with us! We're so happy to hear you enjoyed the cabin’s beautiful space—it’s a wonderful setting for family gatherings, and we’re thrilled it worked so well for your group of 12.
Regarding the basement temperature, when you reached out during your stay, we explained the importance of setting the furnace fan to “on” instead of “auto” and ensuring the vents in the lower level were open. These steps help keep the heat balanced throughout the home, even when the upstairs fireplace is in use. This information is also detailed in the welcome book, and we appreciate your understanding that this was a quick fix to ensure comfort throughout the home.
We were happy to reunite you with your sweatshirt! Since the cabin is 20 minutes from town, the process involves over an hour of time for us to retrieve items, plus an additional trip to the post office to ship them back. The fee reflects the actual time, gas, and postage costs involved. We aim to be transparent and keep the process simple for our guests. We also offered you an option to pick the item up and we have NOT charged you for this to date.
Thank you again for your feedback, and we’re so glad to hear you’d love to return. We’d be thrilled to host you again soon—perhaps in the summer when you can enjoy even more of what this beautiful location has to offer!
Best regards,
Jon B. and the Manage Cabins Crew
Positives: House is in great shape and was very clean. Tastefully decorated. Kitchen is stocked with all cooking utencils youd need. Keurig and regular coffee makers with filters. House has a blackstone grill which is awesome. Plenty of space for 2-3 families. There is a new ping pong table that is great. House has a small dock that should work for any regular size pontoon. The lake is great. Clean. Light to moderate boat traffic. Lake is huge. so great for tubing, skiing, finding a sand barge, fishing, and just cruising. Location is not to far from downtown hayward, golf, casino, and more. House had a nice firepit.Negatives: House had no toiletries but TP, hand soap, Dishwashing detergent. You will need to bring body wash, shampoo, conditioner, lotion, etc. House had no condiments or cooking necessities except salt and pepper. Youll need to bring oil, seasonings, and anything else. House had no firewood. House had no towels or facecloths. To be clear vrbos dont all have these items but its nice when ones do. The walk to the dock is down a steep gravel trail. If you have an over 60 crowd or carrying infamay be very difficult for them to go down and up. Can be slippery when wet and trail has several ruts. I recommend bringing those collapsible wagons for carting things down to boat or firepit. House has no real yard. There is a tiny bit of space by firepit for say beanbag toss and thats it. If you have young kids who need to run around there is not space.

Thank you so much for your thoughtful review! We’re thrilled to hear you enjoyed the clean, well-stocked home, beautiful views, and great amenities like the Blackstone grill, ping pong table, and dock. It's always rewarding to know the space worked well for multiple families and that you had a great time on the lake.
We appreciate your feedback on what’s provided. Due to Sawyer County Health Department regulations, we cannot leave food items in the home, including condiments or spices. Homes that do in the area are in violation of code. While we could include more extras like firewood or toiletries, we aim to keep our nightly rates competitive for families and avoid unnecessary cost add-ons.
We do provide a washer and dryer for guest use, and in this area, it’s common for homes to ask guests to bring their own beach and bath towels. The commercial laundry service is also quite far, so we’ve chosen this route to help manage turnaround times and keep pricing in check.
Regarding the path to the dock, we understand it’s a slope and appreciate your suggestion about wagons. That said, many guests prefer it over the steep stairs found at other lake homes in the area.
Thanks again for staying with us and for sharing such helpful feedback. We’d love to host you again!
Warm regards, Jon B.
