Easy check in, very detailed instructions for everything which I loved. Upon arrival the landscaping looked like it had not been maintained in weeks, weeds everywhere in the back and front yard. The pool and backyard needed immediate attention but again I will say the communication and response times were great! Everything I inquired about was taken care of within a couple hours. Possibly needs some pest spraying occasionally but for the area understandable. Pool heating fees were a bit outrageous and should be listed on the description as some people would like to know what they’re getting themselves into. I declined as it was a bit pricier than I would have expected. Great location between both Knottsberry Farm and Universal which is the main reasons we went. I will say the house was a bit smaller than I expected for the price but for the location is also understandable. I just wasn’t used to it. Overall great stay!

Beautiful property inside and out, truly home away from home. Nicely decorated and furnished. Ella was a great hosts, quick to response and provided easy instructions. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely go back.

Clean, but lacking amenities

House was in a nice neighborhood and kept clean. Was surprised with the location (seemed like the previous kitchen pantry) and size of the second bathroom. House lacked amenities stated as provided, i.e. dishwasher pods, more than two half rolls of tp, shampoo/conditioner, hand soap, etc. Odd to not provide bathroom hand towels. Had to buy some of the amenities….especially tp and after 3 attempts host has not credited my purchase.

DISHONEST OWNER- BE WARNED!!

On 11/4 we booked this Hacienda Heights VRBO for Thanksgiving because it is close to my son's future in-laws in Whittier, allowed my daughter to bring her dogs, and has a pool as we were planning to have the in-laws' family over. On 11/27 we went to bed early to prepare for the next day's long drive from the Bay Area. When we arrived at 3pm the previous tenant was still in occupancy. She showed us on her phone that over a week prior she asked to extend her stay and had been told that while we had the property 11/28-29 other arrangements had been made for us. Panic setting in, I opened the VRBO app to see that an email had been sent by someone named Ella the previous night at 10:42pm saying that "due to a sudden maintenance issue, we will not be able to accommodate you at the originally booked property." We knew this was a lie because the current tenant had just told us so. The email from Ella went on to say that the "only available option" for us was a property in Azusa. With my daughter and her boyfriend en route and less than an hour until Thanksgiving dinner with the in-laws (we were meeting for the first time) I agreed to the Azusa property, soon learning it was 50 minutes away! We were two hours late for Thanksgiving Dinner, did not host a pool party (no pool in Azusa) and over the two days made several trips back and forth from Whittier to Azusa, costing precious time we should have spent with family. A horrible experience that the owner has refused to rectify.

The condition of the home was subpar, marked by its dirtiness, malfunctioning items, and various safety issues. It exhibited numerous problems, such as gaps in electrical outlets, dead remote batteries, missing light bulbs, and noisy neighbors. Additionally, the front door keypad had a low battery, and the couches had mismatched legs and were unsafe to sit on. There were unfastened steps, curtains with questionable stains that appeared to be feces, and a pervasive sewer-like odor. The presence of several bugs further contributed to the discomfort. The host's response to these issues was unhelpful, as she claimed no prior complaints and claimed jer cleaning staff's provided no such reports. When I communicated my feelings about the disingenuous response, she requested that I send photos and videos to her private email. Despite complying with this request, it appeared that her promised "trusted contractor" did not rectify the step or investigate the sewer smell during our absence. Regrettably, the host failed to address any of these concerns adequately. I do not recommend staying here, and I sincerely hope the host reevaluates her cleaning services, invests in quality furniture, and becomes more attentive to guests' experiences. This was a disappointing experience, so I would advise others to seek alternative accommodations.

We find it quite infuriating that you left out specific details of your complaints. As a short-term rental management company, we maintain high standards, as reflected in our status as a Superhost for many years. You mentioned a 2 mm offset in the electrical outlet panel cover, which couldn't allow anything to slip in, let alone a finger as you alleged. There was one missing lightbulb in the secondary bedroom night lamp, and we offered you the option to retrieve a backup lightbulb from the garage or have someone install it for you. Upon receiving your complaint about the low front door keypad, we promptly had it replaced within two hours of notification, which we believe is a quick and reasonable response, given that our staff isn't on-site. You also confirmed via messages that the stain was from chocolate, so we were puzzled by the alleged claim of feces on a curtain in the dining room, five feet up from the floor. Ultimately, we hold all our 40+ properties in Southern California to the highest standards. We meticulously select the best cleaning companies to handle turnovers, and our staff performs a quality control checklist after every clean. However, it's not realistic to maintain a 100% showcase model home standard. Despite feeling that most of the allegations were minor, we still offered to address the issues in a timely manner with your consent.
