Begin each day with a deep breath of fresh mountain air and a gorgeous view of Grandfather Mountain at this spectacularly situated condo in Sugar Mountain.

This condo is part of the Skyleaf Mountain Villas, a community that sits adjacent to hiking and biking trails and very close to the free weekend shuttle bus that services Sugar Mountain Resort (three miles north). Enjoy fantastic skiing, snowboarding, tubing, golfing, hiking, and tennis at the resort, as well as easy access to Grandfather Mountain State Park (nine miles south) and downtown Banner Elk (six miles north).

Enter easily from the ground-level parking area and be greeted by a light-filled living space that showcases the mountain landscape. It's a scene best taken in on the south-facing balcony, where you can recline in Adirondack chairs, sip coffee or cocoa, and take in the view of Grandfather Mountain through the treetops.

Throughout the living space, you'll find large picture windows and new cabinets, vanities, fixtures, and appliances. The open interior brings together a well-equipped kitchen, a dining area with two tables, and a living room with an electric fireplace, a TV with cable and streaming capability, and a desk workspace.

The primary suite has a commanding view of the mountains, while both bedrooms are paired with TVs and bathrooms (including grab bars in both tubs).

A reasonably priced place to stay

It was a nice sized space for a family of 5. It was warm and affordable but some issues. The code to enter failed so we texted for help and got the lock box code to get the manual key. The text service was great. The door key is finicky to open and takes some finesse to open. I recommend Vacasa fix it. Just know you may have wet towels in the washing machine so check the machine your first night to avoid smelly towels. The door won’t open without pushing the mat out of the way. Bad for snow days. I fell hard on the floor entering so please address that safety issue. I didn’t complain to Vacasa, but I could not ski after that. Please wash lap blankets in the living room for your guests.

Fantastic location

We absolutely loved the views, and the location was perfect. We tubed, went skiing, rode the mountain coasters, visited grandfather mountain , all within minutes of where we stayed! There was a grocery store, gas stations, and restaurants nearby as well. We were only a short drive from Boone (20 minutes) so we had the best of both worlds! Mountain living with plenty of options but not too crowded! I highly recommend this area! Jennifer Hxxxx
