Bohemian Cottage in Del Mar

The quaint Bohemian Cottage is the perfect spot to relax with the whole family. This peaceful place to stay located within walking distance the Village of Del Mar. Enjoy 2 patios (one with eastern sun and one with western sun!). The front yard is the ideal spot to view the ocean and catch some rays. This 3 bedroom, 2 bath house is comfortably furnished and includes a bonus/flex space (converted garage with desk and laundry).

This is the quintessential beach cottage. Low key and relaxings with plenty of outdoor spaces. 3 comfortable bedrooms, fully stocked kitchen, dining area and cozy living room make this a perfect space for an extended stay. The garage was converted to the office area and provides a full desk, drawers, filing cabinets to have a dedicated work space. Just steps to to the of the block to watch nightly sunset, occassional whale siting and enjoy stunning views of the La Jolla coastline.

Guest will have use of the front house, 2 side patios (east and west) and the front lawn. Parking is on the driveway.

I live nearby and manage the neighboring property and am available if you need me.

We are located in Del Mar Village. Shopping and dining are a short stroll down Camino del Mar

Extended stay longer than 60 days: rental agreement and security deposit required and will be provided after booking.
VRBO bookings are not eligible for the credit card processing fee (4%) to be refunded if reservation is cancelled (this includes reservations within the cancellation period).

I spent two months at the Bohemian Cottage this Jan/Feb and really enjoyed the house. Peaceful, quiet, great large screen TV, kitchen well supplied with pots/pan/utensils, beds very comfortable, terrific location with ocean view from the front yard and main street Del Mar (shopping/restaurants) just a couple blocks away. I also loved that it's all on one floor--no stairs! Gina was very responsive to any questions/issues. I'd definitely stay again!

We had an excellent stay in Del Mar! The house was just a advertised, very clean, and perfect for our family of 4. Very quiet neighborhood, close drive to the beach, walking distance to restaurants and coffee shops (just note it's an uphill walk to get to the main street), and close drive to the grocery store. Property manager was great to work with. We would definitely recommend staying here.

Perfect Del Mar Location

This is a perfect location for Del Mar. Just yards to the bluff, walking distance to the beach, blocks to good restaurants and right on the bike trail. The kitchen was well appointed and there were several outdoor areas for family gatherings and conversations.

We had an awesome visit - this was the perfect place for our family. We had come to launch our youngest at UCSD and found this to be just as advertised - clean, well outfitted, and just a spectacular setting in Del Mar. We hope to visit again!

We had an amazing stay at Gina’s beach cottage. The location was great, the house was super clean and has all the necessities. The most incredible sunsets are right outside the house at the beach. We can’t wait to come back again soon!

Spacious property in a beautiful location!

We really enjoyed our stay here. The home was clean, spacious, and well equipped, and the beds were comfortable. The location is perfect - close to shops and the beach, and steps to the bluffs, where the view is spectacular. There are 2 lovely outdoor patios and chaise chairs in front to relax. Amazing location

We loved our stay here. It's SO close to the bluffs overlooking the ocean! I would start the coffee and then walk down to the overlook and look at the waves and the surfers. The kitchen/living/dining room is a shared area that worked well for us, and the two side patios offered sunlight, one in the AM, one the PM. The garage has been converted into a nice bonus room that is great for office work or yoga/exercise.The manager and her team are great. They were very responsible when we had a small problem with the heat.

Wonderful location with a great view. Plenty of room in the house open plan structure. Very well appointed dwelling with everything we needed. The host - Gina Mattern was terrific. She stayed in touch and made us feel extremely welcome. We'd certainly stay at this property again.

California getaway

We stayed at this cottage because our daughter was playing in a soccer tournament in the area. The kitchen was fully stocked, and with 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms there was plenty of space. The shower pressure in the master was like a jet stream which was fantastic. The neighborhood is very quiet with great coffee and bakery within walking distance.

June in Del Mar

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this property. We are from Arizona and had the opportunity to escape the June heat for a month in this property. Everything we needed was within walking distance. There was plenty of space for my family which included my husband and kids ages 14,15, and 5. The neighborhood is quiet and restful. Beds were comfortable and office space worked out well for us working remote. A couple of recommendations would be to upgrade the cooking utensils, grill and shower head in the master. I would definitely book this property again. The property manager was responsive and the beach wagon, chairs, and umbrella worked perfectly for our visits to the beach.

Wonderful!!

We absolutely loved this house. It is 3 houses up from the bluff/train tracks. The passing train is barely noticeable outside and you can’t hear it at all from inside. Gorgeous sunset and surfer views from the rock wall. Cross the train tracks for a walk on the bluff. We loved the small grassy front yard and two comfy lounge chairs, hidden from street view by some bushes. The house was spacious! The garage work space was great. Kitchen was well appointed and included some basic spices, even glass storage containers. Everyone slept well, we found the beds very comfortable and it was very quiet at night. Pretty much zero noise from neighbors. We loved eating on the two patios. From the house to the sand at Powerhosue park is .7 miles; the wagon was handy and much appreciated! Highly recommend, one of the best places we have ever stayed.

Lovely stay in Del Mar

Our family stay at the beach cottage was great. We've stayed in several rentals in and around Del Mar and really loved this location. The cottage is two blocks from the ocean with a lovely view from the front yard, 3 bedrooms (4 beds), 2 bathrooms, and a brick patio with tables and chairs on each side of the house. The house was clean and had plenty of towels, beach goodies, and some key basics in the kitchen like olive oil and spices, which we always appreciate. The AC wasn't producing cold air when we arrived and the property manager was very responsive. We walked into Del Mar for dinner on two nights. (Monarch and Tamarindo are both great, and Wynston's, the new ice cream place, is fantastic!) Del Mar also has some nice boutiques, a fun pet store (Dexter's Deli), and a few great art galleries, all walking distance. Powerhouse is nearby and a great beach/park for surfing, swimming, spike ball or just enjoying the day. And you're also a short drive from the fairgrounds/race track, renting e-bikes in Solana Beach, golf at Torrey Pines, or exploring in La Jolla. We love the area and this was a great spot to start the day!

Beautiful Bohemian Cottage

We have been coming to southern California for medical treatment for several years. We have stayed at many home rentals during that time. The Bohemian Cottage was the pinnacle of all those experiences! The house was perfect. The location in Del Mar could not be beat. The view of the ocean is right outside your door. Each night we would walk to the end of the street and watch the sunset! The house is well appointed with three bedrooms and two full baths. The beds were so comfortable. The open floor plan made us feel right at home. The kitchen had nearly everything you need. The yard was lovely with two outdoor patios to enjoy and a BBQ too. The neighborhood was quiet. Everyone’s yard is beautifully landscaped. So many lovely sights near and around the home. It was magical. Each day we would walk a block up to the main street of the town to enjoy Del Mar’s charming shops and restaurants. Jake’s and Poseidon, both wonderful seafood restaurants, were within walking distance of the home. Often we would walk to the Seagrove Park and Powerhouse beach, just to watch surfers and families play. Gina, our host, was gracious and helpful. She responded to any and all of our needs in a timely manner. She was a pleasure to work with. If you are headed to Del Mar, or it's near by areas, this lovely home is perfect. You would be lucky and blessed to rent this treasure whether you are there for a family vacation, business or just for some rest and relaxation.
