Welcome to the "wasp season" from November to December and early spring! During chilly nights and early mornings, followed by warm days, wasps tend to gather on rooftops in search of warmth. While it doesn't necessarily mean there's a wasp nest in the house, they are essentially in hibernation mode, seeking cozy spots.

Generally, they won't bother you much, but we kindly ask you to keep the cabin doors and windows shut to prevent them from entering. Just a heads-up: there's wasp spray conveniently located under the kitchen sink in case you need it, but do not spray over the furniture!

Stay buzz-free and enjoy your time in the cabin!

Please note that this is a forested area, and there are times when the Oklahoma Forestry Service enforces a burning ban in the area. Fines can be upwards of $1000. Please check online for the current burn ban status before using the outdoor firepit.

An Eclipse in Paradise
Apparently the first week of April is the perfect time to visit southeastern Oklahoma. The trees were starting to bloom, but the bugs weren't out. Our stay at the Cliffs was one for the books. We had family come in from California and Missouri to meet up. We all had our own rooms (even the kids). The common rooms were big enough to not feel crowded, but small enough to enjoy each other. I spent every morning on the back patio drinking my coffee and listening to the birds, the leaves, and the creek. We hiked around the property quite a bit. There wasn't a ton of wildlife yet, but there were so many beautiful spring flowers. We enjoyed the treehouse with the kids playing air hockey and shuffle board. My favorite part is the seclusion we felt. The house was at the end of the street and we couldn't see any neighbors. We could hear some through the trees, but they were respectful of quiet hours. I would definitely go back. Any time I had questions, the owners were extremely responsive. I appreciated their friendliness and helpfulness.

Broken Bow Stay
We really enjoyed our stay and the kids had lots to do! They really enjoyed the game room, fire pit area, bunk area and hot tub. The kids also hiked and we went into town with lots to offer. Girls gone wine, shops and restaurants. I would highly recommend this home with lots to offer for fun in Broken Bow and Hochatown!

Great Cabin for Large Groups
I booked this stay for my 37th birthday and had all my siblings families and my parents come. We had about 14-16 people (if you include babies in pack n plays. The cabin was PLENTY big enough with room for more. I love that the bunk room is far away from the master bedrooms. The game room was super fun for the older kiddos. The younger ones loved begging outside on the slide and swings. I would def book again- kitchen had everything we needed. Two dishwashers and two sinks. Two sets of washers and dryers. Def meant for big groups! Only things I’d change are: there was zero firewood for the fire. So we had to run out and get some. Lots of wasps & some of the kids got stung in the slide- but not the property’s fault- would be nice to have some wasp spray around though. Other than that it was great. Very communicative!

Outstanding
Perfect place for a family reunion! We cooked our Thanksgiving meal in the fabulous kitchen. They pretty much had everything we needed to prepare our meals. There were so many things to do and just hang out that most of us didn’t leave the property over our 3 night stay. I can highly recommend this property!

Spectacular property!
We had a fantastic stay and the house/amenities were all so wonderful for our large group of all ages. Kids spent hours at the creek gathering crawfish and exploring the property! Can’t wait to come back!

Our family has been going to Broken Bow a couple of times a year for over a decade. Every time we learned a little more about what we wanted in a cabin and every stay we built on our dream of one day having our own cabin to share with others. Every stay we had taught us something different or new that we would one day incorporate in our own home. You are staying in a dream built upon dozens of fireside talks and walks in the woods of Hochatown. As other cabins are built on smaller and smaller acreage, we remember why we fell in love with Broken Bow... the idea of getting away and appreciating the outdoors. We wanted a place where you can escape the busy city life. Please enjoy the nature and the opportunity to appreciate the trees and beautiful creeks. Tell your kids to explore and have fun in a non-electronics kind of way. We want to share what was decades in the making. Our happy place.

What makes this property unique

Our property is on a large almost 3 acre lot that is elevated overlooking 2 creeks that merge together at the corner of our land. You will find a large Multi-Person laying net over the creek. The house sits overlooking these two creeks with an emphasis on amenities and design that appreciate the land and surrounding nature. The house is intentionally designed to control the noise level of multiple families staying together. The 4 master suites are on one side of the house, while the kid's bunkroom is on the other side of the house. The kid's bunkroom is on the first floor so the noise doesn't vibrate/echo across the entire common area of the home as an upstairs kids' area would. The game room itself is detached from the house (which helps with the noise level as well in the main part of the house) and uniquely elevated over 20 feet in the air, overlooking one of the two creeks. For those with little kids that need to be tucked in for bed before the older kids, we have a secluded smaller bunk room that is close to the master suites so parents can give younger kids an early bed time that is close to where they are sleeping. This bunkroom could also be used to separate boys and girls from each other depending on the family dynamics/situation. This makes the cabin well accommodating for multi-family trips with both older and younger children.
