Breathtaking Ocean-View House Surrounded by Nature
Unique 2BDR 2BTH Tree House with amazing ocean and mountain views offering travelers a true Costa Rican experience. The house is located in a 250-acre forested eco-reserve providing privacy and tranquility to completely unwind. Upper level deck is perfect for yoga, meditating or just enjoying panoramic views of the ocean and surrounding countryside while relaxing in the hammocks.
The 2500 square foot home is constructed with forest green steel, teak wood, yellow paint and has a 100% open-air spacious living area, all architected to blend with its natural surroundings. Trees outside the home attract monkeys, tropical birds, iguanas and frogs.
Both bedrooms are enclosed and have floor to ceiling windows so views are not obstructed. Both bedrooms do have air conditioning.
The master bedroom has a king size bed, en-suite bathroom and breathtaking ocean and mountain views. Viewing platform/terrace with sliding glass doors.
The second bedroom has two twin beds, jungle views and a little viewing platform or terrace as well.
Overall a perfect place to re-connect with nature, wildlife, sunsets over the Pacific Ocean and sunrises through the valley. Plenty of beaches and restaurants within a 5-10 minute drive with ample parking.
Note: Recommended that children under 10 not visit or stay at the Treehouse due to the open-air architecture.
The property is hosted by Eden Properties and owned by Canadians, Jeff & Tracy who are letting others enjoy this paradise.
Disclaimer: Our accommodation does feature air conditioning in the two bedrooms only. It's important to note that temperatures in Costa Rica can be warm throughout the year. We experience extreme temperatures during the months of April and May.
Our unique house design embraces an open-air concept and is nestled in the heart of the jungle. As a result, guests may encounter a variety of bugs and insects, particularly after sunset. However, it's worth mentioning that the majority of these insects are harmless.
We advise guests to come prepared with appropriate insect repellent and to embrace the natural surroundings of our location.
To access the Tree House, you must cross a river, which serves as the only access and exit point. During the summer season, when the river is dry, there are no accessibility issues. However, during the green season (June to October), the river can become impassable due to rapidly changing water levels. This unpredictability means that the Tree House may not be accessible at times.
Crossing the river is done at your own risk. Please exercise caution and evaluate the water conditions before attempting to cross. The property owners and managers do not assume responsibility for any accidents, injuries, or inconveniences that may occur as a result of crossing the river.
Thank you for your understanding and we look forward to welcoming you to our jungle retreat!

Thank you for your kind review! We're so glad you enjoyed the breathtaking views and had a relaxing time. It's great to hear that the scenery impressed you from every angle. We hope to welcome you back soon for another peaceful experience!
We loved our time at the treehouse. The top deck was an amazing place to watch sunsets every night! The cute frogs and geckos made the experience colorful and we would recommend to anyone looking to have a wonderful getaway.
The treehouse was a unique experience. The hostess that met us for the check in and out process was very friendly. The treehouse was clean and included all the amenities you would need like yoga mats beach towels, safe in the bedroom, all utensils, coffee maker and a guest snack box. We would definitely stay here again.

Dear Paul, thanks a lot for your feedback. We are so happy you liked the place and hope to see you soon!
Our stay at the Treehouse was perfect! We explored local beaches, did a day trip up to the Cloud Forest to see waterfalls, and got to watch troops of monkeys throughout the property grounds!
The treehouse itself was great, very open to allow for the mountain breeze, with a tremendous view of the ocean from every angle. The sunrise and sunsets are tough to beat!

Dear Daniel, thank you so much for your feedback. We are really happy you liked the place and you had such good experiences!
We had an amazing stay in the tree house. Our access was delayed by a couple of days as the access road was impassable due to the recent rains but Eden properties provided us with a beautiful alternative house until the road was passable. The tree house is an incredible place to experience. Amazing views, loved the hammocks on the upper floor! Very comfortable stay. Chiara & Marianne were very responsive and helpful. Would definitely stay again!
What a great experience. Everything was exactly as described. Was a little tricky figuring out where to get the keys, but other than that it was a truly unique and exciting opportunity that the whole family enjoyed.
Can we come back? The highlight of each day may have been the early morning, watching the sunrise from the top of the treehouse, listening to the birds and howler monkeys. We'd recommend a vehicle with a higher clearance, like an SUV, not just to get up to the treehouse, but also to get around Costa Rica. Towels, linens, laundry all provided and very convenient. Thank you for your quick responses to our questions!

Thank you for your wonderful review! We're so glad you enjoyed the sunrise from the treehouse and the wildlife. We appreciate your recommendation and look forward to welcoming you back anytime!
Wonderful stay... as always. Wonderful to see the monkeys again, right there, hanging out.... juveniles and adults <3. Playa Negra was excellent... snorkelling, body surfing, body surfing, and watching the surfers. Beautiful sunsets <3 <3 <3
A unique experience--glamming in the jungle! The hosts were terrific. Easy to get here via rental car from the Liberia airport--safe and easy to drive in Costa Rica. Close to many beaches, restaurants, shopping, groceries, and activities. The house is well equipped with everything you need. Just bring crocs and linen clothes because it's hot, even in the rainy season. An adventure to remember!
I can’t say enough great things about this “treehouse”. Impeccable! Better than the pictures! The home and surrounding villages were wonderful! A family of howlers with 2 babies came to visit in the trees outside! The open air and sounds of the jungle were wonderful! Great affordable places to eat nearby and incredible beaches just minutes away! If your looking for an authentic Costa Rica experience this is it!!!

Dear Debra, we are so happy you liked the place! Hope see you soon again :)
Wonderful Treehouse in the Jungle with glorious views!
Wonderful! Splendid! Beautiful! Glorious, in all weather! Built so strongly with steel girders and beautiful teak wood floors … you can feel safe in all weather. Views of the jungle and ocean. Howler monkeys came by. Wonderful to watch with babies and youngsters. Much more. We have stayed here five times and will return ❤️
Overall cleanliness was good but was not comfortable. No relief from extreme heat.
Afraid that in wet season , bugs would be a major issue as the main rooms have no door, no windows , no screens.
Was not too keen on open concept, no security other than bedrooms, from any intruders be it animal, insect or human

Dear Ray, thank you for staying with us. Sorry to hear you were not comfortable at the tree house. This is a very unique property that allows connection with nature - of course, since we are located in the North Pacific coast, our weather is quite hot - especially in the month of March, when you stayed here. On the listing amenities we do not include AC as this house does not have it. The two bedrooms have doors and floor to ceiling windows. The main living area and kitchen are open air allowing you to be at the treetops, as depicted on the description. You are surrounded by Costa Rican nature and this includes many different types of insects, birds, howler monkeys and other wildlife. This is a truly Costa Rican experience. Sorry you could not enjoy this. We wish you well!
We were prepared to stay in a treehouse, and just hoped to see a little wildlife during our stay. Day one there was a troop of Howler Monkeys outside the house. Day two and three we saw them as well. No binoculars necessary. When I say outside the house I mean they were frolicking in the trees about an arms length outside the treehouse. We saw two mamas and their babies with the troop. We woke up and went to sleep to the sounds of them on the reserve. We saw big lizards, frogs, birds that I can’t identify, sunsets from the top level that were like a dream.
The house was well equipped. Chiara the lady we worked with was wonderful. She even sent us a notification that a group of baby turtles had just hatched, and because she did we made it to see a group of 85 baby turtles be released to the ocean.
I can’t wait to stay here again! 10/10 recommend!
We have never stayed at a place like this before! We called it the treehouse because that is the feeling you get, but this is a well built steel and wood structure with open concept kitchen and living area and enclosed bedrooms and bathrooms. Bedrooms have floor to ceiling windows that slide open giving you unobstructed views of the jungle and wildlife. The property provides everything you need to sustain yourselves just like at home including laundry. We loved the open concept that allowed us to be so close to nature. We were perched up on the hills with incredible views of the ocean and jungle which allowed for cooling breezes. The sun rises and sunsets from the top deck were breathtaking!
One of the best experiences while staying here was a group of Howler monkeys just outside eating leaves. We sat in the hammocks on the top level to watch them as they slowly worked their way around the Treehouse. The 260 acre property which it lies on was planted with these specific trees 30 years ago so that the monkeys' habitat would thrive. As we hiked down the access road to the small stream we had monkeys above us with their babies.
Around the property we saw Tree Frogs, Iguanas and Geckos as well as Hawks, Woodpeckers and Herons.
The beaches were only short drives away depending on what activity you wanted to do. We went snorkelling, surfing and swimming. You've got to experience it!
Secluded tree house high in the hills above Playa Negra. Only for the adventurous, but what a reward! The road up is bumpy and steep at times (4x4 recommended but we managed in a 2wd in the dry season), the tree house is high above the ground and the railings are barely there - nothing to obstruct the great views!
The location is very quiet with only a few neighbours in the surrounding woods, and reasonably close to nice restaurants, some grocery and the great beaches.
Be prepared to live with nature, for better and for worse :)
5/5 stars - would find frogs in both toilets again.
This was a fantastic home and location. We were greeted by Howlers on arrival, and the forest was alive during our stay. The home was clean and very well equipped. Morning coffee and yoga on the terrace was a wonderful kickoff to each day. The treehouse adventure will be a great memory.
We had a great time at this property - even with the rain it was incredible to hear and see the surrounding wildlife! Lots of cool stuff to do in the area as well. Thanks again Paul and Jeanne!
This was definitely a unique experience! The place is lovely and relaxing though it took us a minute to adjust to how very open air it actually is. Listening to the rain drumming on the roof and the frogs getting crazy out in the pond was great fun. A four wheel drive vehicle is most definitely necessary, especially during “green” season. Hammocks up on the third floor most pleasurable to swing in.
So fortunate to have spent (a little under) a lovely week in Paraiso at the Tree House. It was an adjustment at first- coming from the comfort of air conditioning and confined living quarters; yet it quickly became a home. It is impossible not to feel at peace there, among the trees, howler monkeys and sounds of the jungle. Truly a once in a lifetime experience!
Logistically speaking, easiest rental experience of my life! Property was clean, organized, easy to get to with an incredibly well-maintained gravel road. Check in and check out was simple and short. The location offered views of the Pacific and an overlook or Paraiso itself.
I highly recommend surfing at Avellanas, grabbing burritos at Jalapeño’s, and sunsets at Lola’s. We had delicious and beautiful dinners at Villa DeVeena and Cafe Playa Negra. I am more than certain we will be back!!
Depending on your season of stay, the insects can be incredibly active (and harmless) during sunset and dusk. Be sure to use lights minimally at night, and in the dark you can enjoy the lovely lights of little fireflies. Magical to say the least!
