Casa Bali is an enchanting rustic Balinese style house nestled in the hills only 1km from the wonderful Avellanas Beach. This 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom house features a lap pool, a wrap around deck, outdoor lounging areas, and a fully equipped kitchen. Casa Bali is custom built with floor to ceiling windows all around the house. There is 1 bedroom with a queen bed downstairs, upstairs has the master bedroom with a king bed and the 2nd guest bedroom with a queen bed. Each with split-level A/C units. The property is full of beautiful trees and plants. The wildlife is simply spectacular. Enjoy your morning coffee while the monkeys climb from tree to tree and the parrots fly overhead. Avellanas Beach has great waves for surfers of all types. From the reef in front of the parking lot to the miles of beach breaks and even all the way down to the Avellanas River mouth. Any level of surfer can find what they are looking for in Avellanas. Also one of the most famous restaurants in Costa Rica, Lola's sits right on the beach at the end of the road. Casa Bali invites you to experience the true Costa Rica.

Great Stay

The property was everything we had hoped: clean, safe, near the beach, near restaurants, quiet, etc etc! The property manager was available for everything we needed throughout the stay. We loved the pool after a day at the beach. And we loved that we didn't need to use our car to get to restaurants or to the beach. Will definitely stay again!

A great stay

We had a great time at Casa Bali - it was everything the listing offered plus more. Host was very responsive and helpful. Rooms are comfortable and we had everything we needed to feel at home during our stay. You will need a car while there, Beach is a short drive away. Highly recommend!

Beach heaven

Wonderful location with great wildlife! Owner was great at answering questions concerning the property as well as the locals. I would recommend to anyone who is looking for a secluded private property that is well maintained and secure. Very family oriented!

Quiet & Convinient

We loved this house that was just far enough from the crowd, but close enough to walk or bike to surf, and nearby resturaunts. Really great property with lots of charecter. Check in was very easy w/ really easy instructions, and host was very quick to respond to any questions we had. Will definietly book again

Family Trip

It was a great area to stay. So close to the beach. Very cool local area. Gotta go to the Surf Shop for actual italian gelato. The third bedroom is really apart of the upper part of the house (which both other rooms and kitchen is). It's good for privacy, but if you have kids and want to be near, not so good for that. We loved it there.

Perfect

Perfect getaway to relax. Easy walk to the beach and wonderful restaurants. If you get hot on the walk to the beach you jump in the ocean. On the way back you jump in the pool. Loved coffee in the morning by the pool with the wide variety of birds and the howler monkeys. Beautiful place, hope to be back someday soon.

Everything You Could Ask For

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Casa Bali. The space itself was beautifully decorated and had everything we needed to feel comfortable during our stay. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and we loved waking up each morning to the beautiful view outside our window. The location was perfect, with great restaurants nearby. City is remote from tourist towns, that is what we loved about the location. Be sure to have a 4x4 SUV for local roads, your trip will be much more enjoyable. Overall, we had a fantastic time and would highly recommend. Thank you so much for everything!

Pura Vida at Casa Bali

We loved our recent stay at Casa Bali! Pura Vida vibes all around Playa Avellanas. The management team was great to work with, very helpful, and responsive to our needs. Casa Bali is in an awesome location that feels very private and safe but still close to everything you need. Easy walk to the beach for a morning surf with enjoyable wildlife along the way. Some terrific restaurants nearby as well with tasty cocktails and delicious food. Il Rustico was one of our favorites! The reviews on this property are very accurate and helped point us in the right direction on this trip. A couple tips: Bring lots of smaller bills for added tips, parking, etc… Get WIFI rather than navigation with the car rental and used WAZE on a phone. Enjoy your time Casa Bali!

Bali style paradise

This home was a wonderful experience with all of its beauty and character. The property is gorgeous, clean and well kept. The location was a little tricky to find in the dark in a rain storm but we were thrilled when we found it! Definitely recommend 4x4 for the rainy season. Great proximity to the beach and plenty of restaurants nearby. Our family of four had a perfect amount of space and we wished we were able to spend more than six days at the property. We truly enjoyed the Bali style architecture and the amazing lap pool. Thanks so much to Brenda who was an impeccable host answering our every question and need within minutes. Can’t wait to get back again!

You will want to stay here!

The Bali House was absolutely incredible. We stayed a fews days prior to heading back to the states. The house has everything you will need. I would recommend grabbing some groceries in town before finding the house because you will not want to leave once you get there. The communication could not have been better. We had a minor issue with the laundry room key not working and there was someone on the property to help within 5 minutes! I was very impressed. This house is right up the street from a gorgeous beach and Lola's great food. Both made this VRBO location even better. Thank you so much for sharing your property.

Local feel, unassuming, and clean

Brenda is wonderful and easy to communicate with. This property is well maintained, but not fancy. The property is .8 miles from the beach, walkable, but very busy to do so. We saw lots of wildlife, bugs included. If you want upscale with no Costa Rican feel, this isn't the place for you. If you want local, quiet beach and nothing presumptive, this is for you. We had Garret come and cook, which was wonderful. We ate at rustico and la deevena (divine). We took a sail out of flamingo (1 hour drive). 13 person semi private charter on serendipity, it was fabulous!!! Overall, it was wonderful stay.

BALI HIGH

We booked Casa Bali for10 days and kept extending and extending... We LOVED the house, the location and most of all WE LOVED OUR HOST Brenda!!! She made our trip magical. everything we wanted, Brenda made it happen!!! Then property is in a perfect location. A 15 minute walk (dirt road) to the swim and surf beach Playa Avellana, the amazing Lola's restaurant and bar ( amazing). In the other direction the SoulShine hotel and local hangout for breakfast and lunch. Down the street is one of the best Italian pizza and pasta spots Rustica and a ice the gelato ice cream place. The house is perfect for a small family or two couples.... well maintained and stocked with everything you need. Comfortable beds, linens and towels... You will see and hear monkeys and birds and occasionally a visit from the "prince", the super cute frog (harmless). We will come back!! thank you for hosting us!!! Casa Bali haven

THIS IS THE PLACE! Perfect little private getaway. The place was really too big for us but we loved it anyway. This would be perfect for a family or a group of friends. Everything you need is there to cook if you want. At first we found it a bit out of the way but then we actually came to enjoy the drive. It’s all part of the experience. It was very safe and secure and just has a great feeling. The downstairs outdoor space is great and shaded. Pool is great. Bathrooms, bedrooms, kitchen, all perfect. The wrap around balcony is so nice for having breakfast. Brenda the property manager was so great to deal with. Very quick to respond and has lots of great advice and info. She was a nice resource to have, especially since it was our first trip to Costa Rica. Great shops nearby. The Italian restaurant on the corner is amazing. Highly recommend it. Avellanas has a beautiful beach and it’s not nearly as busy as tamarindo. But has everything you need. Stores close early and the nearest supermarket is in villareal about 15-20 mins away but it’s easy to get too. I recommend a car rental if you’re going to be staying here and wanting to explore a bit. Taxis would get expensive and the logistics would be a bit to deal with. 10/10 on this one. Highly recommend!

Slice of Paradise

We had the most wonderful time at Casa Bali! It’s a secluded location, but that’s what we wanted. The house has a beautiful wrap around balcony on the second floor where we sat and drank our coffee. Each bedroom at the house had plenty of space, comfortable beds and individual air conditioners. We only cooked one meal, but the kitchen had everything we needed. To be honest, we didn’t spend a whole lot of time inside the house, but only because the outside was so lovely. We spent the first and last days of our trip just lounging in the beautiful pool and enjoying the lush surroundings. An large iguana came down from the tree about once a day, which was the first time we had seen one in the wild. He loves apples and mango! There were countless beautiful birds always chattering in the trees. We saw parrots, white throated magpies, and social flycatchers. I really wish I had brought binoculars because there were so many more that I could hear. We heard monkeys all the time, but never saw any at the house. There was a crossing rope for the monkeys not far from the house where we were able to see tons of them. Playa Avellana is a lovely beach without the noise and crowds of the others we visited. We loved watching the gorgeous sunsets from that beach. It’s a very short drive from the house with a pay lot to park your car in. There are several restaurants nearby that were all very good, including two right on the beach. Our favorite was La Purruja (across from Lola’s.)

Casa Bali: A wonderful experience!

We were looking for a quiet beach town with a good vibe. We definitely found it! The remote-ish location of the house was close enough to town to be convenient and far enough a way to feel like we were alone. Everyone felt very safe in the town and on the beaches and there were added security measures on the property. The house was cozy and perfect for days spent out and about with comfortable and welcoming spaces for settling in during the evenings. It is a little dated, but is very well maintained and we did not have any issues. We were very happy with our choice. Brenda is incredibly responsive and an excellent communicator. The information she provided up front was very helpful and she was efficient and thorough in helping us set up massages at the house (great!) and dinner prepared for us by a local chef on Sunday night before we left (delightful). Hector the grounds-keeper was also super pleasant, very helpful and an expert Google Translate user when I hit the extent of my Spanish - lol The local restaurants were fantastic! Soul Shine, Il Rustica, Cafe Playa Negra, and La Vida Buena Wood Fire Pizzaria were all awesome. Seriously delicious fare. Also, at the entrance to the beach there are two restaurants - Lola's on the right and a smaller place on the left. We really enjoyed the service and food at the place on the left. On Sundays they have a BBQ definitely worth checking out! We rented a car and were VERY glad we did. The roads are rough, but it allowed us to easily enjoy some of the surrounding areas while coming back to our cozy spot at the end of the day. The trip to Tamarindo was well worth the drive. The market was excellent and we enjoyed the town tremendously. A very different beach vibe than Playa Avellanos. It was great for getting more of a small city vibe. There is a ton of shopping, of course, but if you are looking for high-quality, local jewelry, I would highly recommend EK Art Jewelry. The artists are a wife and husband duo and their work is absolutely incredible. While in Tamarindo, we decided to eat at Portofino right on the beach for a light lunch. The view and drinks were good, but the food was really disappointing. We might recommend having a few more ice trays available, a small cooler for day trips, or even some beach chairs (with a fee if they are broken or stolen) but the absence of these things were not at all a hinderance to enjoying our stay. A really great experience!!

My husband and I recently stayed at Casa Bali with four of our friends. We truly enjoyed our holiday in Costa Rica. The beaches are amazing and weather could not have been better. The house itself was equipped with what we needed, grocery stores were fairly well stocked and although we did not dine out often, the food in Cost Rica was excellent. The house itself is located not far from Lola's (which has an amazing beach, restaurant and great service). We enjoyed many afternoons at Lola's, as well in our pool. The pool was cleaned every day and our kitchen had everything we needed. If you are a surfer or love the waves, then this is a great location. The house is quite a nice design, but there are some items which need updating and the furniture is looking a little tired. It served the six of well and we made really great use of the bbq and the pool. There are a couple things about this property to be aware of, that were are not completely evident in the photos. The downstairs bedroom opens up to the patio and you have to go outside to use the downstairs bathroom. This can be a little concerning if you are staying in the room by yourself . We had to 2 females in our group who were sharing a room and were not comfortable staying down there by themselves at night time. The property is fairly remote. There is regular local traffic that goes by, but it is located at the end of a street with the closest property within viewing distance, but not directly next store. The wrap around porch is a beautiful part of the design but there needs to be improvements made concerning the locks on the door, as the house itself was not as secure as it should've been. Our property manager Brenda was very helpful in assisting us in find a great spot to watch the Super Bowl and arranging transportation. She was also very responsive to any time we needed to call her or email her with our questions. You will be see certain "local" critters in and at the house which is part of the Costa Rican eco system. We had frogs, geckos and a scorpion visit while there. Something to be mindful of but certainly not something to keep you from enjoying this beautiful country. This was our first VRBO rental in Central America. We had all the amenities we needed and enjoyed our trip but we would be more mindful to look for something with security on site and perhaps more of gated community in the future.

Tranquility and relaxation

We absolutely loved our stay at Casa Bali! The home was so comfortable and in the best location. A very private home surrounded by the beauty of Costa Rican biodiversity. The amenities were perfect for a vacation! A few tips - If you plan on being connected to the internet, re-think it. The internet is quite slow and it forced us to disconnect which was amazing! You absolutely need a 4-wheel drive for this home. Don’t even question it. Be prepared for sounds day and night. Frogs, holler monkeys, birds like you’ve never heard before and when you’re lucky, the ocean waves. We were blessed with a visit from a troop of holler monkeys including a young baby! We will absolutely be back!

We are also close to Hacienda Pinilla Resort that boasts a Robert Trent Jones Golf Course, Tennis Club and Beach Club. However, even with all of these great local attractions, many guests love settling in to Casa Bali and enjoying the secluded beautiful house and all that it has to offer.
