Gem House

Gem House is a great spot to discover all that Erie has to offer. With its proximity to Mercyhurst University, Gannon University Penn State Behrend, and LECOM, Gem House is a perfect spot to stay while visiting a local student or the surrounding attractions. The house is centrally located with easy access to Presque Isle, Waldameer, the Erie Zoo, downtown Erie, and Millcreek Mall. With so much to see and do, you’ll soon see why Erie is also known as the “Gem City.”

While Gem House can sleep 6, it is ideal for couples, small families, or a group of 3 or 4 friends, as it is a cozy, little Cape Cod home.

Our stay was a 10/10. Traveled 2 hours from pgh for the bord teachers comedy show. We made the best of our stay in 2 days visited the beaches, light house, and erie zoo. This home was so cozy and clean and so close to everything and very easy to get around.

We really enjoyed our stay. The place was very clean and the location was close to Presque Isle and a lot of great restaurant options and shopping. Communication with the host was great and they checked in with us throughout our visit to make sure we had everything we needed.

Wonderful, cozy home. With both upstairs and downstairs bedrooms, this house meets variable needs. Kitchen is very well stocked. Water pressure is fabulous as is the heat. The game room down in the basement is fun. All in all, a great place to stay!

We loved staying at the Gem house for our little mini vacation! The location was absolutely perfect and was so centralized and close to all the activities we wanted to do. We loved having a beautiful back yard for the kids to run around and loved being able to have a bonfire! We are from Orange County, California, but decided to buy a house in each of the towns where our two daughters attended college. Yes! They both left the warm California sun for very cold and snowy places! They love the change of seasons and cultures that are so different from Southern California. Our oldest daughter graduated from the University of Wyoming, so we have a house in Laramie, which is currently being rented full-time. In Erie, we decided to buy this home to rent to others looking for a comfortable and cozy spot to enjoy Erie like we do when we're visiting our Junior at Mercyhurst.

Why they chose this property

Gem House is very special to us. Our daughter attends Mercyhurst University, just 3 miles down the street. We fell in love with Erie and the surrounding areas when we first came to visit the universities in the area with her on her college tours. We bought this house as a home base for us to use when we head to Erie to visit her, and as a place for others to enjoy when we aren’t in town. We hope that you enjoy our home away from home as much as we do!
