This is a sweet comfortable place to stay in a quiet neighborhood across the street from lakefront properties. Easy drive to Benton Harbor/ St. Joseph and other towns. The kitchen was well equipped and clean.

Another great stay

Thus was the second time we've stayed here. It met our needs perfectly. Not fancy, but well maintained, nicely appointed, and clean.

Simple, small place great for a weekend

The place was just as advertised, and very clean with many amenities. The washer and dryer were very handy when coming back from the beaches. It is pet friendly and our dog enjoyed himself there. I would have liked to seen a better road coming to the place, it’s very hard to spot from M-63 (and no signs) and the road is in very bad shape. Outside of that, it was a fine weekene stay!

Silver lake

So peaceful we had a great time. We had trouble getting into the place the road was not well marked. Made a call to the owner he gave us great directions. We would come back. Thanks Kathy & Jim

Summer Trip

This was our second time staying at this property because we know it is clean and we were not in need of anything. The room air conditioners keep it very comfortable and the place is perfect size. It's on a quiet back road that is nice for morning walks after coffee on the deck. And there is plenty of room in the backyard for a bonfire. It only takes five minutes to drive to Benton Harbor to enjoy the shops and Silver Beach. We definitely recommend this cottage and we plan to return as well. Communicating with the host was quick and easy. Thank you.

Cozy Cottage not so cozy.

For us the place was doable. We were just looking for a place to sleep and get away. However, this place needs a lot of attention. Cleanliness was mediocre at best. I’m guessing it hasn’t been rented recently because it smelled really musty when we arrived. After running the AC for 24 hrs, the smell dissipated. There is a giant hole in the wall under the bathroom sink which would likely not meet building codes anywhere. There was laundry in the dryer. A large picture had obviously fallen off the wall in the bedroom and it was just set down along the wall behind the night stand. The portable air conditioners were helpful to keep the place cool, but they were vented through the windows making permanent openings in the screen. We had 2 live spiders in our bed throughout the week, possibly due to the vents from the AC leaving the openings in the windows. Paint was peeling on the bathtub and on the ends of the shower rod, and the tub was very slippery. Electrical outlet was loose in the bedroom. No dishwasher so not sure dishes were clean. A dishwasher would sanitize the dishes for the next guests.

We strive to have a 5 star experience for all of our guests. We never received any negative communication from Linda as to any issues during the stay. She reached out for check out instructions but didn’t say anything over the 8 day stay that any part of her stay was an issue. We address concerns very seriously and as you could tell from our previous ratings we never had any of the issues mentioned. Our cleaners take photos after each stay and after they clean. So we have everything documented the cleaners left the unit very clean the photos I got after Linda left were gross! Linda and her guests left the cottage completely disgusting. My cleaners spent hours cleaning up the gross mess which included dead worms on the floors. They left their container of worms open and completely trashed the unit. Candy behind the bed and pills on the ground. There was bodily waste outside the toilet seat that wasn’t cleaned up. As far as a dishwasher we don’t list having one, we are a small cottage and never had a guest complain. Interesting concern about sanitation coming from our dirtiest guests.

Cleanly and perfect space for two people! My friend and I came for a little girls weekend and it was in the perfect middle area for both Benton Harbor and St. Joe’s. Only thing I’d say was the bedroom air unit was so loud and would turn off and on a lot that it disrupted sleep a bit. But overall great experience!
