Our extended family had a wonderful stay at this beach house! The upstairs loft room was a perfect space for the 4 kids! Loved the screened in porch, backyard was perfect for hanging out in the pool or playing cornhole. The house was very clean and fully stocked with everything from games, beach supplies, and everything you could possibly need in the kitchen! It was a short, easy walk to the beach. Location was convenient, price was right, space was great, and James was very quick to respond to any questions. Highly recommend!
Wonderful house!!! Fabulous location:) Well stocked, intentional choices to make guests comfortable: ice maker, comfy beds, tv in ev ery room, blanket basket, fabulous pans to cook in, sharp knives for cooking, coffee bar, lovely waterfall in pool, 2grills, tiki bar area, beach chairs, paddleboards, lifejackets, etc.Fantastic landscaping-We sat by the pool in front of a beautiful lime and pomegranate tree bearing fruit:) Only change would be an extra couch or chaise in living room, and a way to make loft bedroom and bedroom below separate.

Loved the pool & waterfall! Home was comfortable and close to everything. Thanks for letting us have use of your home.
We stayed 3 Nights June 19-22, 2025, with 9 Adults. The House was clean and James was very responsive to all our texts, etc. The screened in back porch was amazing for morning talks and coffee. The living area and big dining room table allowed all of us to sit together. Location to the beach was great and totally walkable (maybe 3 short blocks). The pool was a plus with a nice backyard. We did have a few minor things we let James know about when we checked out, but all in all - all 9 of us loved the house! Totally recommend if you would like a relaxing weekend close enough to Charleston, but very close to the beach!
There were 9 of us 3 adults, 6 teens. We enjoyed the spacious living room, spacious kitchen, spacious parking, pool, short walk to the beach and great weather.
My brother and I stayed here with our families and 2 dogs in July 2024 and had a terrific time. We found the property overall well maintained and it looked very much like the photos. James was friendly and communicative by phone and text. The location is excellent, away from most crowded section of beach but within walking distance to restaurants and shops. Waterfall in pool is a nice touch!
Had a wonderful weekend getaway with girlfriends at this beach house! Home very comfortably fit 10 sleepers. Five minute walk to beautiful beach. Great outdoor area to hang by the pool. Living room provided ample space for everyone to congregate. Multiple large tables to enjoy meals and play games.
Short getaway for all of our immediate family. House is beautifully decorated and has everything you need. Totally enjoyed our stay. Was surprised that there was no “info sheet” at the home with WiFi passwords, how to operate pool waterfall, emergency listings, etc, but we did receive an email with it when requested. No 6 passenger golf cart available as listed.

I usually stay out of these reviews, but just to be clear. Changes on where and how you park a Cart and what roads you can ride a cart on has changed on the Isle of Palms. We no longer have a golf cart at the home. They still can be rented from independent rental companies here on the island. Parking the cart without getting a ticket is tough.

Not clean and not accurate
The grille and the pool were not clean. Ther is not golfcart (for 3 years) and it is mentioned in the headline. There are cockroaches
The location of the property on IOP is perfect, not too mention IOP is an incredible place to stay. Beach was super close, clean, not crowded, and very enjoyable. House was exactly what we needed. After a morning at the beach, the kids would spend the rest of the day in the pool, if we were not going to Charleston which is about 20 minutes away. Plenty of places to eat on IOP, and even more on Sullivans Island and Mount Pleasant, but took advantage of the well stocked kitchen to cook and enjoy more of our days touring, and beachcombing. This was our first trip to Charleston, but we will certainly go back, and Isle of Palms will certainly be where we stay. If this house is available, then we will bee back to enjoy it again!

Wonderful place for adults and kids
We just stayed at this house. We had 5 boys ranging in ages from 11 - 18mths. This house was perfect for us. The pool was only about 3ft deep - perfect for our little people and the waterfall was a huge hit. The playground was a great for the youngest who was afraid of the pool. The house had everything we needed and the walk to the beach was easy and quick.
We were delightfully surprised to find an entire armoir full of toys for the kids and there was plenty of seating for the adults.
The only complaints I had was 1) we couldn't find the slats for the pool table to make it a full dining table and 2) we also couldn't locate a skimmer for the pool. Both of these 'negatives' in no way hampered our good time - just would've been an extra plus.

Thanks for your advice- we have now placed a pool skimmer net at the home. Also wanted to tell you that the pool table top slats can be found right next to the pool table, hanging on the windows (act as privacy for windows, yet easily take down for pool table top). Glad you enjoyed your stay!
My daughter and her husband had a wedding to attend and I was going to babysit for them so I booked this vrbo for me and all my children who range in ages. I'm 50, 31 yo daughter, 26 yo daughter her husband and 5 mo old, 23 yo daughter and 22 yo son. The space was perfect. We each had our own beds, private rooms except 2 girls shared a room but had separate beds. We had a private pool, with close access to the beach within walking distance, and food and entertainment also in walking distance. We had a great stay and a great vacation. The host was very cooperative and we were able to check-in early. There were plenty of amenities including a kayak, boogie boards, rafts for the pool, games, and all the comforts of home. Highly recommend to anyone who wants or needs to travel. Charleston and Isle of Palms were great destinations and we all agreed we would love to go back and didn't want to leave!! If you have a large group and an infant this is the perfect place to stay as there is plenty to do on the property while the little ones nap or just need out of the sun!! Will hopefully do this trip again as the space was beautiful and so enjoyable for all. (I tried to post photos, but that part wasn't working.) Just know we got amazing pictures as well!!

Great location but lacked some basics
Nice house in a great location. Friendly neighbors. Some portions of the house are very clearly in need of repair. Firepit and bags game were very enjoyable as well as the screen in porch. Great pool but was very very dirty the first full day of our stay—pool cleaner came in the afternoon it took til the following day for it to look somewhat clean. Throw blankets were dirty and stained. Lacked basics like soap in bathrooms and only one roll of paper towels provided for kitchen— and no basic disposables like baggies, Saran Wrap or tinfoil. Propertyw manager very inflexible with check in and check out times for our group—flying in from far away with multiple small children. Also not great instructions/communication regarding property details.
Overall I would stay here again due to the location to the beach (access to golf cart was great amenity). It was a little to chilly for us to enjoy the pool but it was very nice. Our kids loved the swing set as well. Kitchen had plenty of items to use, stove was pretty basic/older, could upgrade. Seating/couches were a mess...tore up, falling apart...just unacceptable. They had a couch cover to try and hide the issues but this must be addressed asap. Hot tub was filthy. I took video recording of things floating in the water, we didn't even dare trying to use.
Good assortment of toys for the kids, pool table in living room was nice.
Bedrooms were okay, beds were comfy. Around most vents you could tell they had a mold problem, took pics of them but also an issue that needs addressed.
In a nutshell, I'd likely stay here again if they addressed some of the above issues b/c of location/pool/swing set.

I do believe in public reviews but If someone has a problem with my homes they need to tell us while they are here. I have other homes they can go to or could have done something to help them. Telling me about a unhappy experience 2 weeks after they leave not only doesn't allow me to help them but it affects the other people coming. I am looking into or have done corrective action on his review.
Our family had a wonderful stay this fall at our IOP beach house. While we here we updated the kitchen appliances, added a new faucet, had the outside of the home repainted, added a new den tv as well as new blinds, replaced the screened in porch, replaced both staircases with trex, added a firepit to the back yard behind the swimming pool, added new lights to the pool area, replaced the front door and added a new punch pad keyless entry. As you may know- the salt air can be rough on the exterior of a home. We decided to replace the slightly rusting front door scones with new lighting fixtures that are more durable. We went through the linen closet and removed old sheets-sets and towels and purchased new replacement linens. While fishing from the dock we caught red fish, stingrays, speckled trout and even a few crabs. We pressure washed the dock.It was great seeing some of the friendly and kind neighbors along our street. We enjoyed walking along Ocean Blvd for both dog walks as well as walking down to front beach "downtown" for the occasional dining out. We absolutely love how nice everyone is and how cozy and clean the Isle of Palms continues to be. Can't wait to return next fall!

About the host
Hosted by James Parker
We are a local family that enjoys the beach and outdoor fun. As of the writing of this, we have an 18 and 21 year old. We have enjoyed outdoor living here from when our kids were born.
Why they chose this property
Carolina Blvd is a great part of the island. We have views of the ocean and like to listen to the sounds of the ocean on the back porch. From the front of the house we have views of the creek and the Cooper River Bridge as well as wonderful sunsets. We also have a deep water dock that is about a block away that gives us access to the creeks and fishing. This part of the island is thinner than most of the island so it gives you visibility of both sides of the island. The friendly atmosphere of the neighborhood only adds to the charm of this house. Whenever we stay at this house we feel like we are on vacation as well.
What makes this property unique
Access to both sides of the island, beach and the inter coastal waterway with the private dock 1 block away
