You have access to Centro but can also get away to a quiet neighborhood without the "tourist influence".

What a gem! The home fit our needs perfectly. Situated a 20 minute drive from Centro in an up-and-coming neighborhood, it was spacious, clean, and comfortable. Views from balconies were great, and we watched hummingbirds dart around all day long. A couple of tasty restaurants within walking distance. It was super helpful having someone come three times a week for light housekeeping (included) and laundry (a little extra). The host was very responsive and made sure we were happy. We’d definitely stay there again.

Kari is amazing & so welcoming! Before you arrive she gives helpful tips & makes sure you have what you need. We were able to use her car for a couple of days for a nominal fee, much easier than renting a car. She also offered us rides to restaurants & local places. Such a nice place to stay, near many of the popular tourist spots. Thank you for letting us stay in your beautiful home!

Oaxaca stay for 1 month

We can't say enough about Kari and Rudy. They made our stay in Oaxaca, Mexico for a month as warm and accepting as possible. They were always there to lend a helping hand. The nicest people you could ever meet. We would highly reccomend this property to anyone wanting a cultural experience in the Oaxaca area.

Sweet retreat

The hosts were great & made everything easy. The place - WOW, it’s beautiful, it has amazing views, from sunrise to sunset. It’s tastefully decorated, very comfortable bed, has incredible water pressure & showers. Super fast Starlink WiFi is like the cherry on top!

Charming Stay in Traditional Mexican Neighborhood

Venture away from the hustle and bustle of Oaxaca Centro, and enjoy a tranquil stay twenty minutes away in this well appointed apartment while enjoying the amazing views of the mountains. Kari was at our disposal for all our needs. I highly recommend this off-the-beaten path place for a chance to get to know the real Oaxaca.

Modern Stay

Very aesthetically pleasing property with modern features. Kara was a welcoming host. Due to location of the property not easily accessible to taxi or bus routes she offered to pick/drop us off various locations nearby. We were also able rent their 7 passenger van for the day for a reasonable rate.

Visit to Oaxaca for Dia de los Muertos

We enjoyed delightful stay at Kari and Rudy’s house. The weather in Oaxaca was spectacular sunny and 70s. The house is ample in size, layout is beautiful and functional, and we enjoyed coffee every morning on the upstairs terrace overlooking Oaxaca in the valley. The views are spectacular, wedding or appetite to come back, and explore more of the valley. Kari and Rudy went above and beyond to make sure our stay was complete, providing us local travel tips, rides as needed and wonderful company. They are both excellent hosts, proud of their community and kind people. I specifically chose their location because it would be away from the fray of downtown Oaxaca and afforded us the quiet of a smaller neighborhood- taxis and buses were easily accessible to and from the house involving a short 10 minute walk

Beautiful home in Oaxaca

The hosts went above and beyond to make sure our family had a comfortable and enjoyable stay. Beautiful and clean as shown in pics. Couch and 4k tv made it a great place to unwind from our activities. Tasteful decor, blends traditional and modern design. Great place to stay, not to far from center and near many locations like Tule, Teotitlan, Tlacolula and Mitla. Hosts left us a great variety of basic necessities in the kitchen. Beds were clean and comfortable. Plenty of towels and also basic toiletries. Great view on the patios and rooftop. Hosts were super thoughtful, respectful of our privacy and quickly responded when we needed assistance or tips. Would rent again and recommend to others. Thank you for sharing space with my family!

Fantastic Home Base Off the Beaten Path

Extremely home-like stay with incredibly responsive hosts. Kari - with generosity and ease of communication - helped me navigate an urgent task I needed to handle (with my less-than capable local language skills) and was proactive about giving us information about how to get around. The location was simply ideal for us as people who didn't want to be super-close to the crowds and busy-ness of Centro, and could give us more convenient access to making our way to the hills of Ixtlan de Juárez, the traditional Zapotec town with breathtaking mountain views. We are 'urban hikers' and walked the delightful, residential 6 km to Centro nearly every day (with a rather convenient taxi stand just a 1 km walk on the only rainy hour of the entire trip!). We stocked up on coffee, snacks, and a few groceries at the Wal-Mart which is also a convenient and pleasant walk (or very short drive). Kari and Rudy made sure water was plentiful, and the home had every amenity you could need.

My husband and Rudy and I retired in 2017 and moved to Oaxaca from San Diego. We are very involved in Oaxaca life. We have ties in Centro and in the Pueblo - Huayapam. We have two domesticated house dogs that we keep inside and walk off the property during your stay.

We built this home with all the comforts - Fast wifi, abundant outlets, hot water and great water pressure!

What makes this property unique

We have lived here and can help arrange a number of outings. Want to have a authentic Oaxacan meal prepared and served on the rooftop? We have local friends that would be happy to accommodate. Also we can arrange to have a taxi driver's number who can take you to centro and drive you back (10 min). You'll be happy to have the quiet but still be minutes from the city. Walmart shopping center near by if you prefer to cook.
