Peaceful and Quiet getaway near the CT shore

My family & dog absolutely loved our stay. We booked a last minute getaway and the host was over & beyond accommodating. We loved the clean & cozy cottage on the cove! One of our favorite places was the screened in porch that overlooks the cove! Absolutely beautiful! And the short walk to the beach was amazing! We can’t wait to plan our next stay!

Cousin gathering!

We absolutely loved it!! We try to get together once a year (2 of us come from Arizona and 1 from Connecticut) for a relaxing lobster roll/wine kind of time. This was simply wonderful with a delightful cozy screened porch to a living room water view - perfection!! Thanks- we’ll be back!!

Lovely View

We enjoyed a last summer long weekend near the beach at this lovely cozy home. The living room's full wall of windows overlook a beautiful inlet where all kinds of birds are active on the tiny island right in our view. There is a rustic screen porch that also has the same view. We also enjoyed the updated, well-stocked kitchen. The beach is an easy walk, but also has plenty of parking and lots of conveniences--we enjoyed two sunny days basking there. The first day was rainy and we enjoyed the nearby aquarium. The owner was very easy to contact and very helpful. When we first arrived, a fire alarm battery was chirping, and we were able to get in touch with them right away, and they came right over to fix it. We would definitely stay there again!

The total price for less than a 20 hr stay was a little over $800. For that price we had an expectation of a clean and comfortable night. Not the case. We found dirty sheets on one bed and one bed with no sheets. The property owner did promptly send someone to fix the beds. There was food in the refrigerator left by someone. The house had a musty smell throughout. Again, for that price we had an expectation of atleast the ability to have coffee in the morning. No coffee. Even the low end hotels/motels have in room coffee. We would never stay there again.

Linda, I am sorry for your experience, when we spoke you had said that the cleaner forgot to put a sheet set on the bottom roll in trundle bed, but didn’t mention anything about dirty sheets on any other bed, we keep 6 full sets of sheets at the house per bed so I’m quite shocked there was an issue with dirty sheets. Upon booking your stay you knew how long you would be staying there and the charges and fees associated with VRBO, I’m not sure why cost is brought up after the fact. If guests leave opened, non expiring food or drinks in the fridge it’s been typical of most VRBO’s that it’s left for the next guest if they choose to use any of it. I was there the morning of your check in since I live 7 minutes away and didn’t notice a musty smell, neither have any other guests complained since opening the rental 7 months ago. I understand your guests were very upset that the WIFI TV’s did not have normal cable to watch your football game on and I’m concerned your 2 star review is in part to that.
