Waterfront 3-bedroom w Firepit, Game Room, ~1 mile to Foxwoods, Great Wolf Lodge
Set on 3 acres, our 3-bedroom waterfront house is as close as you can get to Foxwoods Casino and Great Wolf Lodge without actually staying at the resort. It's actually within walking distance (though with the busy road we don't recommend that). AND it's a waterfront house - we have a large pond/small lake in our backyard that is private to our house and the farm next door (2 kayaks + life jackets and paddles available for guest use). AND we have a firepit in the backyard + a finished garage game room with a pool table and a ping pong table (foosball in the living room). AND, it's only about 15 minutes to Mystic! With all that, the house makes a perfect home base for a Connecticut country vacation or a waterfront weekend getaway.
Important: Sheets and towels ARE included with your stay. They are washed before and after every guest, feel free to use the laundry room during your stay as needed as well. We also provide a starter pack of paper towels, toilet paper, toiletries, cleaning products, soaps, detergent, sponges, k cups, and tea! We have a washer and dryer for guest use too!
This waterfront home has so much to offer! Some of the nearby attractions include: Mohegan Sun Casino/Arena - 7 minutes Foxwoods Resort and Casino - 1 minute Mystic Aquarium and Mystic Village - 15-20 minutes Buttonwood Farm - known for their ice cream and sunflower fields ~ 10 minutes Pachaug State Forest - The largest in the Connecticut state forest system ~ 12 minutes Hopeville Pond State Park - multiple hiking trails on 400 acres of mixed woodland ~ 10 minutes Stonebridge Farm - alpaca farm with open farm weekends ~ 8 minutes River Ridge Golf Course - pristine golf course with idyllic views ~ 8 minutes

The house was cozy and had a nice yard for our little dogs to run around. It is really close to a lot of places like Mohegan Sun, Foxwoods and Mystic and shopping.
Loved our stay! It has a fenced in yard and my dogs loved it. It was clean and cute. It is in the main road so there is traffic noise, this didn’t bother us though because we live on a main busy road so it was fine.
I love older houses, this one was charming, clean and pefect for our family. It had a fully fenced back yard for the dog, a pond and wasn't far from anything. A great stay!
It's an older house, but it's got cute rustic kind of decor. The property itself is great - lots of space for kids and the fenced in area for dogs is great. We would stay again.
The fenced in yard and everything was great for our pets. Communication with the hosts was also excellent! Everything was clean, the A/C window units and ceiling fans did the job of keeping us cool. All the appliances worked, including the washer and dryer in the basement.
The quaint, quiet house and yard were perfect for a peaceful long weekend with family. The house feels private despite being on the main road due to beautiful plants and landscaping. The yard was perfect for the family dog. There are ants, spiders, and a mouse but it's a country house. I was very pleased with the house and thought it was a good value based on what we paid.
Affordable, fun, relaxing house. Indoor and outdoor things to do. Some pretty glass decor in the dining room, so I easily moved a few things to temporarily kid proof it. A/C in bedrooms, ceiling fans in almost every room. The hosts were very responsive and addressed our concerns exceptionally well.

Picture posted had nothing to do with actual property, bus, spiders and a mouse. Had to call owner for loose railing outside and broken/loose bricked step. Shower upstairs-poor draing. Next vacation better questions. House is on an main county road w traffic 60 mph. Wasnt ideal for my family. Better questions for next vrbo vacation

We don't think this is a fair review. For future guests, the issues Karyn brought up have been addressed - and were addresses during her trip as soon as she let us know about them.
The real draw for us was the proximity to Foxwoods and the fenced in yard for my son to run and play. We were pleased to find the house just as described: a bit rustic but charming and with plenty of space for us to spread out. The hosts were communicative and helpful. We didn’t have time to make use of the kayaks/pond but the kids enjoyed a s’mores night at the fire ring, and were treated to a gorgeous display of fireflies at sundown. The only caveat I would say is that it is a hard place for people with mobility challenges due to bedrooms upstairs and cement steps into the house, and for people who are not used to country living, they might find it a little rustic for their tastes. And as with any place in New England, if you visit in June or July, bring bug spray!

We would stay here again. The fenced yard was a huge plus—especially for our dogs given the nearby roadway—and the pond was lovely; our kid loved the provided kayak. The main living spaces were clean, and when we ran out of a couple basics, the owner was very responsive and got us what we needed quickly. That said, the sleep setup needs attention. The mattresses, pillows, and blankets felt cheap and quite worn, and it wasn’t a pleasant night’s sleep—we even bought new pillows after waking with neck pain. I don’t mean to sound harsh; it’s just our honest experience, and upgrading the bedding would make a big difference. If you’re particular about sleep, consider bringing a mattress topper, your own pillows, and extra blankets. The yard also needs more regular care: the grass was overgrown enough to feel like a tripping hazard, and there was some trash and broken concrete around that should be cleared. We had to use the basement for laundry and, while it isn’t a living space, it was very dirty and not pleasant to be in; a deep clean would help a lot. Finally, the road noise at night is noticeable—coming from a very quiet rural area, we felt it more than some might. With upgraded bedding, tidier grounds, and a cleaned-up laundry area, this could be an easy five-star stay. We genuinely appreciated the dog-friendly fence, pretty setting, and the host’s quick responses.

Smelly house and rude host….The place was dirty and bathroom was very smelly which caused the entire house to smell bad. The water smells like rusted water and the windowsills were filled with dead bugs when we opened the windows to ‘air the house’ the worst part was the bath tub was clogged. The owner did work with us to send a plumber to fix the bathtub issues and someone came to mopped the bathroom and kitchen floors. When we expressed our displeasure and requested a compensation, the owner rudely texted and over the phone said 2-3 times that we can pack our bags and go. We had to wait until the next morning for the plumber to come @8am. The washer/dryer wasn’t accessible since the basement was dirty and flooded. When we asked the owner, he said we aren’t suppose to use the washer/dryer…but it was LISTED on VRBO. Vrbo wasn’t helping neither. They weren’t able to find another location. They offered to atlas have the owner not charge the 159 cleaning fee…but the owner said he wasn’t refunding any money if we stayed. We ended up staying and cleaned the house since we have a 3y/o and 6y/o children playing. Not to mention, one of the meshed window was opened so there were bugs in the house. We made the best of the trip, lost our first day reservation of activities trying to get to the bottoms of this. We didn’t plan a trip, Took off from work, drove 3 hours with made reservations just to have the host tell us to pack our bags and go back home.

We have never had a guest as bad as this one - completely unreasonable despite multiple efforts to fix and address her concerns. We sent the cleaners out when she complained about dust - even though they were there within an hour, it still wasn't fast enough for her and she began complaining about other things... a mystery smell, then the tub drained too slowly, then basement had a puddle that had run into if from an exterior door downstairs. At that point we offered to let her cancel her reservation and go somewhere else - but she demanded we pay for a bigger house for her to stay in, which of course we declined. We made the best of it, but we would not rent to her again and would urge other hosts to be very careful about accepting bookings from her. The WORST guest I can ever remember having.
Clean and cozy, we had a great time here. Fenced in yard was a plus for our 4 year old to run around. Windows upstairs could be updated to reduce road noise but we got by with white noise on the tv
